Walid! I'm in love with my hair again because of you!…read more Absolutely love my haircut! You did an incredible job with the shape, layers, and movement. The way you cut the front to frame my face is especially beautiful, it has so much volume and falls perfectly without looking over styled. It's polished, flattering, and still feels effortless. One of those cuts that makes you feel great the second you look in the mirror. I couldn't be happier. Over the moon, thank you for bringing me back to life. And I love that you love my natural color! Over the moon happy and because of you I feel like my old feel good self again. Hot damn! Blessed to have found you.

I've been testing out new salons since moving here with the hope of finding one I really like that…read morealso doesn't break the bank, and had high hopes for this one based on the reviews. I only ever do simple cuts, nothing fancy. My haircut, done by Anderson (a level 3 stylist), is objectively good. The skill was there. But it's definitely shorter than I wanted it. Went in for a lob, came out with an asymmetrical bob...Honestly I was panicking while he was drying it because it was starting to look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. I asked if he could style it like in the reference pictures I showed (simple waves, to reduce Farquaad-ness). He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.

I came back at set time and they whisked me off to get shampooed right away. I only waited a couple of minutes while my hair story guru was finishing up with his previous client. I loved that the staff checked in and kept me updated. Things were clean and they were able to tell that I had a morning and may not have been the most talkative, which I super appreciated! The place is no frills and it's not fancy but my guy knew was he was doing. I showed him some inspiration photos and he got to work. The whole experience was about an hour from start to finish and I love my new cut. I didn't see any prices and didn't even ask! LOL. Imagine how surprised I was when they told me my cut was only $53! I happily swiped my card and tipped my shampoo lady and guy in cash and walked happily over next door to Ranch 99 to get some lunch. Will definitely be back as it was a steady stream of people coming and calling to making appointments!

I thought this was a language barrier situation and that he understood I meant short, straight bangs like the photo. Instead, I walked out with long curtain bangs, nothing like what I asked for. He did check in with me throughout the process, but it was confusing. I explicitly said I wanted my bangs shorter, yet he continued cutting them longer than what I had shown or said. I'm not sure where the communication broke down, but the end result was the opposite of what I asked for. He also asked if I wanted to thin my hair. I didn't know exactly what that meant, but he said it would look better. I hesitated, but when he suggested "just a little," I agreed. Unfortunately, he thinned out so much that now I have tons of short, frizzy pieces sticking out everywhere. Again, nothing like the photo I showed. It will take years to grow my hair out to fix this. On top of that, he didn't check my face before sending me out the door. I left the salon with tiny shredded hairs stuck all over my face, like I had just walked through a hair storm. I told him explicitly what I wanted, but the haircut I received was completely different. I went in for regular bangs and long layers and left with super long curtain bangs and thinned-out hair.

1 star. A shocking lack of skill, oversight and accountability…read more I booked an appointment because of its positive reviews and my previous good experience at the salon's Falls Church location. I left with my hair 6-8 inches shorter than I requested after a stylist gave me a fundamentally botched haircut. Please view the photos attached to this review because they are absolutely ridiculous. I arrived with long hair that was almost entirely one length and showed the stylist a reference photo of the exact look I wanted: long layers and face-framing layers while preserving my overall length. I explained multiple times that I loved my long hair, wanted a low-maintenance style and did not want to lose more than 1.5-2 inches. He agreed that he liked the reference and said it would be no problem. He even took a before photo for his social media portfolio. Instead, he cut one extremely short, chin-length layer all the way around my entire head. This was not a matter of slightly misinterpreting the reference photo. The cut was nowhere near what I requested, and the way he executed it made me seriously question whether he knew how to cut hair at all. When I noticed the damage, I told him repeatedly that the layer was far too short and explicitly instructed him to stop cutting anything shorter. He continued cutting until I finally made him stop. His subsequent attempt to blow-dry and style my hair only made matters worse. What is equally disturbing is the salon's complete lack of intervention. Other stylists were working immediately beside us as the haircut progressed, yet no one stepped in to correct what was happening. The owner did not approach me until I was physically getting out of the chair, visibly distraught and nearly in tears. By then, the damage had already been done. The owner looked at my reference photo, apologized and offered to try to fix the haircut if I returned. She told me this was the stylist's first day at the salon. When I returned, multiple stylists came over to inspect the cut and ask what I had requested. They each expressed shock and one even apologized for not intervening, stating that she had noticed how bad it looked when it was happening. The owner later told me the stylist had done a great hairstyle on someone the day before, contradicting her earlier explanation that it was his first day. I was never given a clear explanation of his experience or the circumstances surrounding the appointment. I'm still completely confused as to how the stylist landed a job there. The owner attempted to salvage my hair, but because the original cut was so badly botched, she had to remove even more length. I am now left with hair 6-8 inches shorter than I wanted and can barely put it in a ponytail. It's completely different lengths, choppy, and not blended at all. The owner waived the cost of the service, which was the bare minimum under the circumstances. Beyond that, the response consisted of a few half-hearted apologies. This was completely unacceptable-- I will be living with this hairstyle for MONTHS until it grows back any reasonable amount to try to fix it. I understand that a salon may have talented stylists alongside an inexperienced employee. However, this experience raises serious questions about the standards for hiring, training and supervision at this location. A client should not have to recognize that their stylist is making a fundamental mistake, repeatedly ask them to stop and ultimately leave the chair in tears before management steps in. I am including before-and-after photos so prospective customers can judge the result for themselves. I previously trusted this salon based on its reputation, but I would urge anyone considering the Tysons Galleria location to proceed with extreme caution. I have never experienced such a disastrous haircut, and I would not return based on this experience. The only thing the salon offered me was a free haircut when there is no way I would have paid for the haircut in the first place. By the way, the stylist's rate was $80 for a haircut...
