I visited Hayek's at about 12:30 which is normal for my lunch time and I ordered a roast beef and turkey sub. I was charged 15.00 plus tax which is normal. I picked up a few additional items as well. When I unwrapped my sandwich I was so disappointed with what I discovered. I've never had a sandwich this thin from Hayek's before and I've been shopping here for over 25 years. I will still shop there but I may be done with sandwich's. I'll include a picture of what 15.00 gets you these days. Disappointed is the best way to describe my experience today. There was tomato on the sandwich as well. Take that away and the meat could not be seen.

While speaking with him, I brought up the fact that a flashing light in Hayek's triggered a seizure in me recently. He explained that he has to hire someone offsite to change the lights, and that cost's money and he's never heard of a flashing light triggering a seizure in anyone before. I had a medical incident in the store, which was just dismissed by a manager completely. I still came back to the store to purchase dog treats and they were disgusting. The manager disregarded any of my concerns and I am extremely upset. I used to love this store. I will never recommend it to anyone again.

Right across the street from Thorlabs' world headquarters, occupying a space once held by the beloved Town and Country deli, Hugo DeLuca's has a built-in audience just south of Spring Street, close to the MVC. But service is so slow. They appear to pre-prepare almost no ingredients for the lunch rush, and on my most recent visit, the guy working the flattop blissfully ignored the two waiting orders in favor of chatting up his buddy. After all that wait, the food is just so basic. My grilled chicken wrap wasn't tightly packed, and had no greens or other textural contrast. My friend said the roasted veggie sandwich wasn't worth it, either. She spoke more favorably of the crispy eggplant sub on a different visit. A & B has multiple locations, including, Newton, Randolph, and Morris Plains. I went to the one in Newton. The interior looks like your typical bagel shop with hard tile floors, and lots of seating. The menus on the wall were brightly lit and easy to read off of. The employees were patient and friendly with all the customers the come on this establishment. I ordered a "Baker's Dozen" and I used store bought cream cheese as a spread. What I like about these bagels are that they are bigger that is bigger than my hand, but has a very light touch. Here's what was in my bag: -Garlic - My go to bagel. Roasted garlic toppings all over, soft and chewy on the inside. Worth the stinky breath. -Everything - You can't go wrong with this bagel. Just your typical bread topped with sesame seeds, salt, garlic, poppy, etc. -Cinnamon Raisin - I'm not really a sweets guy when it comes to bagels. Though I could taste the raisins, I had a hard time finding the cinnamon flavor. -Jalapeño Cheddar - I really wished they mixed the jalapeños with the dough instead of adding it on top. The melted cheddar had a strong pungency and made the entire bagel greasy, making it very messy that i felt like i tasting that a not the bagel. Personally, I would lay off from the cream cheese on this one. Though my experience was 50/50, this does not stop me from coming back here every month and ordering my usual from this fine establishment.

It was such a beautiful night, my parents and I came and we each got our own pizza. Pizza came out in maybe 15 minutes, we sat and waited and just chilled. It was a beautiful night. I am so appreciative that Windy Brow has a vegan cheese option, so I could be included! I got the Margherita pizza and subbed vegan cheese. The crust and dough were incredible - so fluffy, perfectly crispy, amazing thick crust. The vegan cheese was also great, and the sauce too. Just a perfect pizza. My dad got a regular Margherita and loved it, and my mom got the fungi pizza with mushrooms and was raving about it. My boyfriend got the pig and fig and (of course) loved it as well. We all raved to each other about how amazing everything was. For a farm to do something like this when they don't need to, shows that they love what they do! You can really feel the love in the pizza. We then got ice cream after since the ice cream stand was still open. I got the vegan dark chocolate sea salt (literally incredible, perfect consistency, I love hard ice cream so this was amazing), my boyfriend got Madagascar vanilla and said it was a perfect classic vanilla, my dad said the cherry vanilla was the best he's ever had, and my mom who doesn't love ice cream got the lemon blueberry butter cake and was raving about it. Phenomenal job!!!!! So appreciative to live near a spot like this. Blessings!

My husband thought it tasted watered down and while I didn't dislike the sweet corn and honey, I wouldn't need to try it again. They do have really cool flavors, and maybe it was my own thing, but I didn't really want to ask to try too many of them as the lines are long here. I tried the taylor ham and french toast one and while interesting... wasn't for me lol The girl taking the ice cream orders was fine. One thing I will say is my little guy is an ice cream loving toddler (as they tend to be) and he had one bite of the ice creams and passed. We were both pretty shocked. Even after several tries, he was not interested... The bakery/store was cute, but not much left. Prices were also a bit steep - $6 for a tony croissant. Perhaps earlier in the morning when they might've been fresher, I would've considered it more, but it looked like it had been sitting. The girl at the register was very nice though. We had originally wanted to come to try the pizza, but when we arrived around 5pm on a Sunday, it was an hour and a half wait even if we wanted the pizza to go. The guy over there was really nice and apologetic even though he didn't need to be. Hopefully we can try it at some point if we're ever nearby again. additional note - there are only 2 port-a-pottys for restroom needs.
