The fillet was unfortunately overcooked to a medium well instead of medium rare. I did not send it back due to it being busy. The potatoes and greens were delicious! Staff was friendly! One person in our group has multiple allergies, and while the staff assured us it would be fine the service didn't reflect that level of attentiveness. It ended up taking over 45 minutes for our food to come out. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait for rotisserie chicken and that salads with chicken would be substituted with crispy chicken, but we didn't order anything that should have required that kind of delay. During that time, we watched several other tables come in after us, get their food, and leave before we were even served. After our drinks were dropped off, our server never checked back in to update us on the delay. However she did check in after we got our food. I completely understand that things can get busy, but the restaurant was empty, and multiple staff members passed by our table without acknowledging us. Overall ambiance was very nice... the exposed brick, the cozy booths. But we won't be rushing back any time soon.

Nice open yet cozy seating and friendly smiles all around. Two of us had a delicious Cobb salad - we both felt it needed a bit more dressing - but it was super fresh and tasty. One had a steakhouse burger which she really liked as well and we split Shed Fries and Sweet Potato fries. All was delicious. I knocked one star off because we all really felt the burgers should have come with fries as opposed to a pickle spear and coleslaw. For the price, an added pile of fries would have been nice as opposed to having to order a side plate. That aside, food was delicious, service was spectacular. John was super friendly and helpful with choices too. Tempted to go back to try their brunch items! Maybe before I leave I'll get back there!

I don't know if they just put a lot of mayonnaise on it or whatever they had on it. It made the bun really soggy and hard to eat. And it was almost too big of a piece of chicken like it was too stacked on top of each other so I couldn't even fit it in my mouth. I am sure if I tried something else. I would have liked it better, but I feel like with the a fried chicken place being right upstairs that it would have been a little bit different.

The owner brought over the wood and decor from an Irish Pub so when you walk through the door you have magically been transported to Dublin. Creative cocktails and many beers on tap along with traditional Irish food complete the scene. The food is a awesome mix of Irish and American dishes. Guinness Beef Stew, Bangers and Mash, PEI Mussels, Steak Frites, and seafood dishes are sure to make this a pub favorite. They also have live music on the weekends and trivia nights. We sat at the bar which is our preferred spot and were greeted immediately and handed menus. I ordered wine and my date had a Guinness draft beer. Next we ordered mussels to share. They were delicious. The toasted bread used to soak up the broth. As we enjoyed our conversation and he had soup the restaurant started to fill up and it became much more lively with conversations and laughter. Next we ordered dinner. I had the pasta primavera and he ordered the shepherd pie. We were both pleased with our choices. Staff was very attentive even as the place filled. I would definitely go back.

They do a lot of charity fundraisers. Breakfast is top notch and plentiful but lunch and dinner are also excellent. The Mess for breakfast could literally feed three small adults. They have the best corn bread and muffins and desserts all baked on premise. Servings are plentiful. When it is crowded you could wait up to 30-45 minutes but most times there is very little of a wait period. They open early and close later than most restaurants. Take out is a great option if it is busy as well. It is a country kitchen diner vibe mashed with a cheers bar! A local and a visitor favorite but on Sundays they close at noon.

Apparently this is an institution (at least based on the shirts and paraphernalia they sell with The Shack name on it). The food was pretty standard fare, nothing crazy or out of the ordinary here, maybe some fun names for their everything but the kitchen sink omelettes (The Shanty and The Mess come to mind). Bottom line is they know their way around deep fryers, and they know eggs. My only regret is ordering the banana cream pie - crust was okay, banana pieces were good, the top "cream" part was like an odd key lime consistency and sour flavor that I did not expect or cared for. P.S. They have a massive senior citizen following, but that shouldn't be a negative like other reviewers seem to have made it. They like what they like, and then seniors like The Shack!

The decorum was not the same but the energy reminded me of my old stomping ground (O'Neils in New London RIP). I enjoyed the collection of decor, especially the dragon hanging from the ceiling and the little guy in the upper corner. There wasn't anything fancy about them but they felt nostalgic (and very cheesy!). With good reviews and a cool menu we dropped in and couldn't have been happier! We were pretty lucky as it was not that busy and we were able to get a table right away. The decor is eclectic and interesting. The staff came with a great smile and even better attitude; absolutely top notch! We started w the pretzels and beer cheese. Holy 6 pound baby Jesus they were good. They came out piping hot and the cheese was in a bubbling side dish. This isn't your typical dab of cheese in a plastic condiment container that is commonplace nowadays. I had the Arturo Sandoval (spin on a Cuban) as my entree and it was also fabulous and came out hot. If I was being critical, the pork was a wee bit dry, but that happens sometimes and it really didn't take away from the sando. Even the small side of pasta salad was outstanding. I'm lucky if I eat sides like that 1/100 times and this one I couldn't wait to finish. Great vibe, great staff, great food, and live music almost every day. Definitely gonna go back and if it's just as good will update to 5 stars.
