I was down in Los Angeles last week for a conference, the Open Networking Summit. While setting up…read moremy booth, we noticed that we needed an HDMI splitter to show our software demo on both a monitor and TV. Therefore, what does the boss ask me to do? Yelp "HDMI cable/splitter please!" This is like a Monday at 4:30 pm. So I quickly check Yelp, and the Wires Zone pops up (we were at the Intercontinental Hotel in DTLA, which was where the conference was held). I quickly called them to see if they had it in stock (yes), and what time do they open tomorrow morning (9 am). By this time, it was already like 4:50 pm so obviously like too late to catch an Uber over to buy it.
The next morning, my boss pings me... get the HDMI splitter ASAP! So I call my Uber, and I arrived outside The Wires Zone about 8:58 am... they just opened and were very friendly. A couple employees greeted me, I told them my situation, and they quickly got me my HDMI splitter. Even better, the owner asks me how I found them, I said Yelp, and he gave me a 10% discount. The lady get me a receipt and I pay with a credit card. Very professional!! And very friendly!! I was relieved that I finished my task and ubered back to the conference.
5 stars for sure!! Thank you for saving my company's (Lumina Networks) booth :)
