Sugar & Lash

As I began to plan my Hot Girl Summer I realized something was missing or rather something needed…read moreto go missing-- I needed a wax! I came across Sugar & Lash thanks to Yelp and was ready to try out the Brazilian sugar wax. BLUF: I had a good experience for my sugar Brazilian wax. Would recommend! I'm pretty open minded and always ready for an experience so I had no prob having a total stranger see my lady pocketbook. That's the first thing I'd say to people you have to be comfortable with someone being all in your business. I've never had a Brazilian wax or a sugar wax so I read into it. Brazilian wax removes the hair in the front and the back. I must've missed reading the part about the BACK because I was a little shocked when she said it lol. Sugar wax is less harsh than regular wax bc the hair is pulled in the same direction. I met and talked with Mandy then I was taken to a private room. I took off my bottoms only and received a towel wrap that had snaps to fit on my waist. I laid on the table and let the lady know I was ready through the closed door. She came in and got to work. I would say it's uncomfortable but not unbearable. Mandy is considerate and would offer breaks but I just went the whole time nonstop. It's good to have at least a weeks worth of hair but not too much hair or else that's more pulling. Mandy went to work on the front and the BACK. The front was more effort than the back. The back goes really quick and is much easier to handle. A little weird feeling but manageable. I was there for about 30 minutes and it really all goes quickly. Mandy will talk to you throughout to make it less awkward and as pleasurable as possible. Overall it was not scary or way painful. I will be back for another. I know over time the hair will get thinner and waxing will be easier.

I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE!! Walked in on a Sunday around 12PM…read moreand it was busy for sure, but they had plenty of workers and I got sat immediately- water was started to warm up and I was sticking my feet in the water within 10 mins of walking in. La Madame is kept VERY clean and it's so sparkly and it's such a vibe in here, there is plenty of seats and every few seats there are privacy curtains which to me was a very nice touch. Jesse serviced me I got an Aloe Vera pedi - $67 not including tip. ASK FOR JESSE!! He was amazing and talked to me about the things I wanted and told me why he was leaving and for how long (grabbing stones , hot towels, lotion, etc.) some ppl may feel that it's too much but it was so nice to know those things! Side story: A lady came in and asked if her nail could be fixed (toes) they sat her beside me immediately and they fixed her up and made sure she liked it all before she was finished, she felt it was still bad, they fixed it again the Manager was like "I won't stop until you like it ma'am" - turns out it was the curer that made her nail bubble they switched it out and it was so much better. Overall I WILL BE COMING BACK! I'm new to town and I have found the GEM! highly recommend 10/10

If you are looking for a supportive environment to start your career in the lash industry, I…read morestrongly suggest looking elsewhere. While this program is more affordable than other schools in the area, it is a classic case of "you get what you pay for." I have wasted approximately $8,000 out of pocket and am currently left without a license, without my completed hours, and without the UV class I paid for. Unprofessional Environment & Poor Communication The atmosphere was consistently unwelcoming. The instructor was frequently abrasive and rude, creating a dismissive environment rather than a constructive one. Communication eventually broke down so completely that I had to resort to documenting everything via text. Even more concerning was the feedback from my models; every person I brought in mentioned how uncomfortable they felt in the building. They were so put off by the energy that they refused to come back for fills, which severely hindered my ability to build a portfolio. Scheduling Chaos & Lack of Support The lack of stability made it nearly impossible to succeed. * Constant Changes: Two weeks into the program, the instructor changed the schedule to accommodate a new job she had taken. Class was randomly canceled for a week at a time, making it impossible to maintain a consistent fill schedule for models. * Lack of Compassion: During my time here (October to March), I navigated significant personal hardships, including medical issues and the loss of my dog. Instead of support, I was met with more difficulty. * Equipment & Logistics: Toward the end, the instructor had me do my remaining fills at home. During this time, my car broke down. Despite living 45 minutes from town and having to scramble for transportation and a workspace, I remained committed to the deadline. The "Ghosting" & Technical Failures I was given a deadline of Monday to submit my final work. I attempted to turn everything in on Sunday, but the school's portal was down. I sent time-stamped proof of the portal error immediately. Despite my efforts to resolve this, the instructor has since ghosted me. It has been several days with no response to multiple texts. My hours have not been submitted to the state, and I have received no information regarding the additional UV class I paid for. Content Over Quality It became clear that the instructor is more interested in creating social media content to make the school look successful than actually teaching. She will gladly use students for her own content but will not use her platform to help students find models when they are struggling to finish the program due to her own inconsistent scheduling. Final Verdict: Save your money and your peace of mind. Invest in a school like Lash Habit or Lash Doctor. The "savings" here cost me my professional confidence, my time, and thousands of dollars. I have officially contacted the Better Business Bureau and a lawyer to resolve this. STAY AWAY.
