I grabbed a butter wreath and proceeded to the check out line to order a Thai Tea with Boba. The cashier was done taking a woman's order, and as I proceeded to walk to the register, she looked at me and walked away. I really thought she was going to make a drink or help a customer out, but was I wrong! She walked towards the back area, flipped through some pages on the wall, and proceeded to talk to the 3 female workers. Two of which were passing the phone around. They conversated and laughed for about three minutes. Meanwhile, the male worker patiently worked on the customer's drinks. He seemed to be the only one on the floor actually doing his job! One of the female workers looked at me and walked towards me with her head down. She politely took my order but by then I was annoyed. I paid for my drink and my bread, (which btw was burnt from the bottom). Unfortunately, I did not notice until I got home. This location needs to train their staff all around. The mama to be had a color scheme of Tiffany blue so we chose that color for the cake and I had a specific topping in mind which they easily created there. The second cake was a half sheet Rio (bird movie) themed cake for my kids in early September. They had one of those books that had premade ideas for kids cake so I chose one of those themes and then added my own cake topper since the movie is so old they no longer have the topping toys available. Both cakes were marble flavor with a strawberry filling. Both cakes were also reasonably priced. The 10in was $60 and the half sheet was $100ish. I can't remember exactly but something around there. But other than that it's very easy to order your cake. You can do it over the phone or in person. I prefer to walk in since I live nearby and because I usually have a picture of a cake I would like them to use as inspiration and they always execute it perfectly like the picture. The gentleman there who usually takes the orders will work with you if they cannot do something and give you other options too. Normally, bland food can be fixed at home with a few spices, but the bigger issue was the large amount of grasa (grease/fat) in the caldo. The grease was very dense and excessive. I tried removing as much as possible, but there was still too much. In fact, I had to serve my mother the menudo without the broth because of how greasy it was. My recommendation: stick to the bread -- it's great. As for the menudo, maybe this was just a one-off experience, so others may want to give it a try for themselves. I personally hope they improve the recipe because it's difficult finding a good Sunday morning menudo spot in the Downey area.

So two stars for first two experiences being fine. Here's a comprehensive breakdown of my visit today: Ordered: $2.90+$2.90+$6.25+$10=$22.05 SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY TOTAL 2 medium coffees+1 breakfast sandwich+1/2 dozen of small donuts Paid $31.30-$6.25 overcharged for an extra breakfast sandwich-.70 overcharged for coffees=$24.35 what I actually ended up being charged Overcharged by $2.30 STILL in the end After making several mistakes because apparently the girl was new and delaying me getting to work, I was still overcharged. I just don't like that. Nearly $3 for a black coffee when it costs a quarter to make and $6.25 for the most basic breakfast sandwich, which I actually hated, is expensive enough. I don't appreciate being overcharged when their prices are high enough already. That's simply not fair.
