I discovered the flavor through a "cake box" and have been going back for the flavor ever since. Behind birthday cake, the cupcakes are always fresh and moist, with generous amounts of frosting and fillings (as a good cupcake should be). With the exception of the chocolate frosting, which is more of a sticky ganache (in the best way), the frosting tends to be a buttercream consistency. The workers are always kind and knowledgeable of the flavors. Beyond the basic monthly flavors, they rotate monthly flavors and usually have even more flavors from the cake box and slice section.

The ambiance was quiet and the store was decorated nice. We ordered the lemon, banana pudding, and Dubai chocolate mini bundtlets. The lemon was nice and moist with a distinct lemon flavor that was not artificial tasting. The Dubai chocolate was moist as well either a decadent chocolate taste and pistachio filling that was light and not artificial tasting as well. The banana had a great flavor as well. You could order the mini bundtlets, large Bundt cake, or small cupcake- like portions as well. There were also beverages (hot and cold) available. We'd had a death in the family and I wanted to send both a flower-like cupcake bouquet as well as zoo animal cookies for the 3 younger kids. This place & these owners went above & beyond what I EVER would have expected, particularly when you're calling them from Texas and they know I will never be able to actually see in person what they did or didn't do. Instead, they made everything fresh Monday morning, then delivered it TWICE since no one was there the first time, they called me, I made some calls, then they actually waited around & returned to hand deliver it again about 30 minutes later to a thrilled family of 5, which included 3 small children who were just thrilled with the different cookie animals. The cost was VERY reasonable and I can assure you, if you opt to use this company, you will get more than your money's worth as well as the personal touch that is so often missing in today's large stores and companies. I will continue to use this shop for all my needs in Virginia, including birthdays, mother's day, father's day, etc. You simply can't go wrong.
