We are being forced to pay them $20/month for the last two months of our contract (even though I pointed out they didn't honor their end of the contract by not providing the local channels promised) AND we have to pay them $25 to send our equipment back! We called for the umpteenth time and were informed I could pick up the motem myself and install which I did. (Bet I get charged the set up fee anyway). First off, I felt like I was in the police station scene from Home Alone getting transferred back and forth between departments because each thought that my issue should have been handled by the other. My other point of frustration comes from their new COVID-19 protocols which, according to the customer services team, restricts techs from coming out to my house to help me fix my problem. This was followed by saying that techs were only getting sent out for diagnosing issues (Not to fix any issues), upgrades and new installations. This to me sounds like unless I am adding a new revenue stream to Consolidated, fixing my internet problem is not worth the possible risk to the tech or myself. Every person I spoke with was cordial. I even spoke with a supervisor who offered me a free month's credit to my account for my troubles. Unfortunately, this does not fix my internet issue and the only way I can get someone out to my house is to switch providers. Time to start shopping.

We had purchased my mom a new basic phone since she is getting up there in age and didn't need anything fancy and the rest of us got smartphones. At the time, the owner was there and told us that he could get us waived activation fees if we signed up, which sounded awesome because at a nearby store we were told that it was $25 per line. Fast forward about a year and a half and my mother did not need her phone anymore. I knew there would be an early cancellation penalty, but for a basic phone, it was supposed to be $150, prorated over time...or at least that is what I found online. However, when I called in, we found out that my mom's phone, which was in no way a smartphone, was actually on a smartphone contract and the etf was $350 prorated. We also found out that we were on a small business plan, which was another surprise to me, since I don't own a business. I later found out that that is how the owner got our activation fees waived. I'm not sure if this constitutes fraud or not, so if you do sign up with them, be sure to check your contract. Don't get hooked in to a bad situation with the US Cellular in Concordia.
