When you arrive at the change area, you check-in with security to ensure you have booked the correct time slot (cannot have more than 25 skaters at any one time). The change area is separate into 6 tables to slap on your skates and enjoy the well groomed surface. The rink is more a square than the typical recto-oval we are all too familiar with. The organic nature this rink takes on, slight incline from the entrance to the natural obstacle course of bumps adds to the overall feel when enjoying the fresh air as you are doing laps and hit the unsuspecting speed bump to wake you up a bit. The staff are very friendly and love the high tech Zamboni that is deployed at the end of each 45 minute skating interval

Also a warning to future patrons due to the large immigrant population there is a heavy gang presence. The most notorious gang being from the Australian immigrants. Be very wary of 10 year olds jumping around calling themselves the "The Gangeroos"; they do not use weapons but are very well known to the local police for dropkicking old people and kids in strollers. As long as you keep an open eye you'll have great time at Leaside Outdoor.

This place is huge, used to be Extreme fitness before and I used to he a customer there for about 3 or 4 years! After this place has been converted to Goodlife, I did sign up for month to month service knowing the quality will drop, and It didn't take me alot to cancel my subscription. Lockers are dirty, smelly, the place is a mess, machines needed repairs and maintenance, etc...

I'm not sure if signature word is applicable. Stuff is mostly nice, sales people are friendly and chatty before you give them you $$$ after that they pretty much do not know you. Personal training has outrageous price with 0 benefits, first trainer - forgot to do assessment, worked out on one thing throughout a course of 2 months and then disappeared, somehow I was not notified at all. Second trainer I was appointed didn't show up. Third trainer cared more about social things going around the gym. Luckily I'm off "personal training" but I'll still keep the membership for now, Dow to convenient hours and location.

We came on a Sunday morning just after 10 am and the zamboni was finishing up on the rink. The rink got progressively busier the longer we stayed. A lot of families came with young children learning how to skate. There were also some teenagers zipping around the rink and generally taking up a lot of space while everyone tried to skate at a leisurely pace. There's plenty of paid parking nearby or alight at North York Centre station if taking the subway.

During the summer the rink is a shallow man-made pond and in the winters it becomes an ice rink. Parking around here can be a little tricky in the winter due to all the snowbanks that are taking up the street parking. There is free parking on Sundays till 1pm on some of the side streets nearby, just heed the parking signs. We arrived around 10am and were just in time to see the Zamboni come out to resurface the ice. There are some benches around the rink where you can put your skates on and leave your belongings. There aren't really any indoor facilities that you can go into to warm up but there is a Starbucks nearby where you can grab a hot chocolate. It did get busier as the day went on and about 12pm was the peak time we saw most people there.
