This one is also conveniently located by the Tom Graham Arena so there are facilities and parking nearby. They had an art show the day we were going so the lot was quite full on the side closest to he community center but there was still a lot of parking spots farther on. The skate trail actually has a little dedicated area for changing that's indoors or they have tables and benches outside (fingers might get cold!). It's a trail through some trees that kind of loops around so it's a lot more interesting than going around in circles. They play music as well to add to the liveliness.

It was my first time skating in more than 3 years and the last time I skated (in Jan. 2020) it was my first visit to this Trail which was also for an Event with my skating Group. The Trail features a relatively warm indoor change room/area with a washroom but no skate rentals are available here. The Trail itself is fairly small and (of course) narrow, and when I started skating yesterday at 1:30 pm both the change room and the Trail were pretty barren. During the next 1 1/2 hours both the change room and Trail gradually became more crowded; shortly after I started skating music began playing through speakers situated around the Trail and as I was putting on my skates in the change room, several people started setting up a table for free skate rentals (subject to availability) with valid ID. Between 2:30 - 2:45 pm the Zamboni came out for ice maintenance; due to the small size of the Trail this only took about 10 - 15 minutes. Afterward I skated around the Trail a couple more times to check how much better the quality of ice was - it was considerably better - then finished shortly before 3 pm. I've skated on a few other outdoor Trails in Toronto over the years: the Colonel Samuel Smith Skating Trail in Etobicoke, the Trail at Evergreen Brick Works and The Bentway Trail underneath The Gardiner; this one is smaller than the Etobicoke Trail, about the same size as The Bentway Trail and larger than The Brickworks Trail and it's now the first Trail I've skated on more than once. With College Park next door and Yonge Street steps away there are no shortage of amenities nearby. The Trail features 'Skates & Sounds' every Friday throughout February, with a different DJ every week and free skate rentals (again, subject to availability) from 5 to 8 pm.

An average skater could skate the entire trail in 1-1.5 mins. Unfortunately there are no skate rentals onsite. This trail is part of the park part of College Park (so many P's!). It was officially opened on 2019-12-07. It is the first outdoor skating path in North America to incorporate state-of-the-art carbon dioxide technology in its refrigeration system. This environmentally friendly technology is natural, non-toxic and non-flammable, with no net greenhouse gas effect. They use a zamboni to smoother the ice. There are 2 firepits nearby and 3 ice sculptures. There is an event called Skates and Sounds held on 2020-01-24, 2020-02-07, 2020-02-28 (all Fridays), 5-7pm, where they have a DJ, FREE 1-hour skate rentals, FREE skating frames for young children, free coffee, and free chocolates. I skated on 2020-02-07. It was about 30 years ago that I skated last! It was fun! Having free skate rental and music was a good bonus! During the warm months, it is a walking trail.

Rinx was the venue of the first Yelp event I attended a couple years ago, and I was back recently…read morefor a staff townhall/fun day. The conference room they have is quite nice and holds up well to many other venues. There were issues with the wireless mic working properly for a bit at the beginning however. The food was probably the lowest point and they may wish to consider stepping up their options for groups like the one we had, depending on how serious they are to have corporate groups come in. With that said, Rinx has nearly a dozen separate activities and they deserve credit for pulling that off. The bumper cars/whiffle-ball game was almost universally regarded as one of the favourites. I hadn't played laser tag in nearly two decades, but it was fun doing it again and the arena they had for it was up there with most I played in back in the day. Everyone loves bowling, and the games room is an easy crowd pleaser with: air hockey, fussball, pool etc...There's a few others as well, and about the only one that was a bit poor was the mini golf which felt like they designed it as a bit of an afterthought. There is also a roller rink, though it was not used for the event. The staff did their job, but could do better at smiling and showing better customer service than just the basic level. There's a few things Rinx could improve upon, but they still deserve a lot of credit for offering so much, and surely something for everyone. It's worth checking out for sure.

They have an indoor room which you can change in and out of skates or just simply watch. There are tons of benches outside. It is completely free and their hours are pretty decent. *** Avoid Skate Sharpening Booth ***…read more The lady who smokes did a terrible job sharpening my new skates. I had to get them re-sharpened at SportChek for $7 (16 and Woodbine) where they had to re-sharpened my blades. The staff was surprised at how terrible they were considering I had purchased them this year. Skate rental is available but I'd recommend just saving up and buying your own (even used in kijiji) skates. I'd be weary on those rental skates given how terrible the lady screwed up my blades. *** Indoor area not available *** Due to the pandemic, the small indoor area is closed off to the public. So you'll need to change your skates outdoors on the wooden benches. Occasionally there is a staff there but this rink is mostly unsupervised. You're not supposed to be figure skating / practicing hockey moves, but no one is there to enforce it. *** Environment *** The stairs to get to the rink are poorly lit. There's currently a Christmas tree at the entrance but the stairs are not lit at all. They need to fix the lamppost or install new lights bc it's dark enough you can't see people when going down the stairs and might hit / step on a kid playing in the area. There are no lockers / storage available so be sure to travel light and leave your bulkier items in the car. No access to heating area or washrooms. The theatre next door may be open but not sure about welcoming guests to use the facility. Best to drive across the plaza to the washrooms at a restaurant like McDonalds. *** Skating Rink *** Rubber floor mats are limited facing the side of the Civic Centre building where the benches are located to change. It would be better if mats were expanded all around the rink along with additional benches. This would help reduce the crowding and close contact of others during this pandemic. Shaped more like an oval than a circle or rectangle, it's a decent size for skating when it's not too busy. I do find the ice to be uneven / dented / marked up even after the zambino has cleaned the ice. During the evenings, lights are available along with dated 2000s music on repeat. I've been coming here for years and it's still the same, so of course I'd be bored of the music. Bring your earphones to keep yourself entertained.

This place has swimming pool on 1 side with slide . It is a smaller pool compare to standard pool size. It is always busy. Besides pool, it has tennis court outdoor, 2 squash court, a small area for stretch , all purpose room and gym room with equipment. The good part is it has jacuzzi and sauna and not all city community Center has this facility. It also has indoor skating rink. Outdoor also has a rink for skateboard. There is parking . Although it cannot be compare to be as nice as the newly built community Center, it has quite unique facilities. With city has new program for gym membership , the membership is apply to most of the community Center include this one. I pay around $90 for 3 months. Good deal

I'm a swimmer, so I can't say much about the rest of the building but I will focus on the pool…read more The pool is a standard 25 meter pool, with a slide, a wheel chair ramp and a smaller shallow section. I go mainly for lap swims, and have found it often very busy. The fast lane is one single lane, medium a double and the slow lane another single lane (4 total). The fast lane tends to get busy quick, and not always the most generous or co-operative people swimming. I find that the morning swims are a bit less congested, and by the evening swims (especially in summer) the pool is quite cloudy and very busy. Not much else in the area for lap-swimming unless you want to get a membership at the YMCA (at bayview and sheppard). So I'd recommend it solely on that basis. If the location makes sense, I'd recommend checking out the 50m Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre at Sheppard and Yonge. It's in a fairly good location - mainly if you can drive. Getting there by bus is difficult (I'd recommend McNicoll bus over Leslie for frequency) Hope this helps!

It still has Toronto city services on the 5 floors on the east wing of the Civic Centre while the Toronto District School Board occupies the 4 floors on the west wing. City of Toronto services includes: a new...the 100th Toronto Public library, a Wedding Chapel, Tax & Water, Traffic Services, City Clerk, City Planning Services, Fire Services, etc. An existing ground floor area is being renovated for a Dental Clinic (which will move from 160 Borough Drive next door that is also home to a Health Clinic). Outside, there's a waterfall and a reflecting pool which becomes a skating rinks in winter plus the surrounding Albert Campbell Square. Many City of Toronto plus community groups hold events here year round. Examples include job fairs and concerts. The Scarborough Town Centre mall and a transit hub for the TTC and GO Transit is just minutes away too!

This oasis of calm is found between the Scarborough Civic Centre and Scarborough Town Centre. Came here during the lunch rush and just took a look around at the sculptures and architecture. Sat down at one of the many benches (they have many tables as well) shaded by the trees and enjoyed listening to the birds and the sound of the man made waterfall. After my moment of calm I headed to the busy Towne Centre, I was ready to face the masses.
