Having been to the rink a few times over the last couple of years. This rink is perfect! - Rental Facility - Locker Room - Free admission to the rink - DJ freaking SKATE NIGHT - the DJ was soo good, he would mix ethnic music with hiphop (Middle eastern, indian etc) - Less crowded during weekdays, a little crowded during weekends, but still much less than Nathan Philips. - Best location for a rink, on one side you have the lake, the other side you have CN tower; it doesn't get any more picturesque than this. - Usually well maintained - best out of all the rinks I have been in Toronto - Good for beginners - plenty of people learning and falling. I learnt skating here last year. I am slowly becoming an ambassador of ice skating to the brown community lol I have taken my friends, colleagues and family to this rink and everybody loves the place, some people are actually trying to learn skating after skating there.

First time going to this ice rink. I was surprised it was so big! It was crowded but not in a bad way. Everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves and it was a really nice atmosphere. The people working at the stands were really nice too. I think it was 10$ for 2 hours for adults, and 8$ for kids for 2 hours. There are lots of park picnic type tables where people can leave their stuff. They also have a little area on the side with tables where they served warm drinks which was really nice. It's also only like a 4 minute walk to the mall if you would rather have more food options (which is what my group did.)

Winter sports are always so much more WORK than summer ones. Perhaps it's all the layers and runny noses and freezing cold wind. Either way, you gotta get outside sometime, otherwise YOU. WILL. GO. CRAZY. The skating rink down at the Harbourfront is a great place to visit on a sunny day, but don't forget to dress WARM. There is a crazy cold coming off the lake. It's not a huge rink, a kind of figure-8 shape but the top loop of the eight is a lot smaller so people get kinda bunched and start falling into giant piles. But hey, that's part of the fun (if you don't think it is, then don't go skating). My only other piece of advice is BRING YOUR OWN SKATES. It takes FOREVER to rent, especially on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Also, GET YOUR SKATES SHARPENED BEFORE you go! They charge $5 (a little steep) and you have to wait quite a while.

This is a great skating rink. The rink is actually free, so if you have skates your good to go! If you don't have skates you can rent them for 13 for an adult. The rink is a pretty good size, it is well maintained and they have music playing. The skates were very good. Not just some cheap skates that hurt to use, they worked very well and I didn't even have blisters from using those skates! The view is amazing too. You have a great view of the CN tower, and the lake on the other side. You can even watch planes fly in to the airport on the Toronto islands. So If your looking for a great place to skate in Toronto. This is it!

A really nice, outdoor skating rink with an amazing view of the CN tower. I really couldn't complain, I had so much fun skating around with my friends and definitely would come again often during the Winter season

An average skater could skate the entire trail in 1-1.5 mins. Unfortunately there are no skate rentals onsite. This trail is part of the park part of College Park (so many P's!). It was officially opened on 2019-12-07. It is the first outdoor skating path in North America to incorporate state-of-the-art carbon dioxide technology in its refrigeration system. This environmentally friendly technology is natural, non-toxic and non-flammable, with no net greenhouse gas effect. They use a zamboni to smoother the ice. There are 2 firepits nearby and 3 ice sculptures. There is an event called Skates and Sounds held on 2020-01-24, 2020-02-07, 2020-02-28 (all Fridays), 5-7pm, where they have a DJ, FREE 1-hour skate rentals, FREE skating frames for young children, free coffee, and free chocolates. I skated on 2020-02-07. It was about 30 years ago that I skated last! It was fun! Having free skate rental and music was a good bonus! During the warm months, it is a walking trail.

It was my first time skating in more than 3 years and the last time I skated (in Jan. 2020) it was my first visit to this Trail which was also for an Event with my skating Group. The Trail features a relatively warm indoor change room/area with a washroom but no skate rentals are available here. The Trail itself is fairly small and (of course) narrow, and when I started skating yesterday at 1:30 pm both the change room and the Trail were pretty barren. During the next 1 1/2 hours both the change room and Trail gradually became more crowded; shortly after I started skating music began playing through speakers situated around the Trail and as I was putting on my skates in the change room, several people started setting up a table for free skate rentals (subject to availability) with valid ID. Between 2:30 - 2:45 pm the Zamboni came out for ice maintenance; due to the small size of the Trail this only took about 10 - 15 minutes. Afterward I skated around the Trail a couple more times to check how much better the quality of ice was - it was considerably better - then finished shortly before 3 pm. I've skated on a few other outdoor Trails in Toronto over the years: the Colonel Samuel Smith Skating Trail in Etobicoke, the Trail at Evergreen Brick Works and The Bentway Trail underneath The Gardiner; this one is smaller than the Etobicoke Trail, about the same size as The Bentway Trail and larger than The Brickworks Trail and it's now the first Trail I've skated on more than once. With College Park next door and Yonge Street steps away there are no shortage of amenities nearby. The Trail features 'Skates & Sounds' every Friday throughout February, with a different DJ every week and free skate rentals (again, subject to availability) from 5 to 8 pm.

I have driven by this area many times this year. I did a few times when going to Coca-Cola Coliseum for Marlies and PWHL Toronto (now Sceptres) hockey games. Last night, I passed by it heading to Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a concert. I remember when this space was used for parking during the Canadian National Exhibition (The Ex). It was affordable back in the day. You basically parked on the grass, paid for parking, and walked over to the Princess Gates. Good times. Parking for The Ex is atrocious these days. It's better to take the TTC, mainly because this parking space is gone and it's cheaper than shelling out over $30. If you are looking for parking near The Bentway, you've got a couple of Green P options: - 250 Fort York Boulevard - 800 Fleet Street Paying through the Green P app is convenient. If you need to extend your parking stay, it's easy to do through the app than physically returning to the parking machine to pay for parking. The Bentway is popular in the wintertime. It becomes a skating rink where you can rent skates, skate till your heart's content, and grab some hot chocolate. In the summertime, it becomes a rollerskating party every month. You can rent skates, grab a bite to each from food trucks, and visit a few market vendors. I am looking forward to Dominoes. It's basically a community-building activity of laying down giant dominoes along a 2.5 km path through a number of downtown neighbourhoods. They are cutting through The Bentway. The domino run is scheduled for September 22 (tomorrow). It sounds like a lot of fun! The downside is that traffic is horrible in this area. There was a concert and an Argos game at Exhibition Place yesterday. Cutting through this area to get there was painful. When there aren't a lot of activities in the area, The Bentway is a calming, fun place. Otherwise, pack some patience! (371)
