Skated the adult night yesterday. Worst music I have ever heard, a too loud monotonous permutation of nothing but blasting base followed a deafening clap. I was a bit sceptical about going roller skating since I've never even tried before. I do know how to ice skate, though. My friends insisted on going, so I went along. It was a pretty busy Saturday night, with the parking lot filled and overflowing into the businesses nearby. A Saturday night session (8 p.m. to 1 a.m.) is $18 and skate rentals are $5. Lockers are $0.25 every time you need to get into them. You can definitely fit at least a few pairs of shoes in one locker. We had already eaten before we came, but there's a snack bar with plenty of seating. There's also a small arcade area, a couple of claw machines, billiard tables, and party rooms. There were at least two staff members on the roller skating rink, making sure that the people who fell were okay as well as escorting people to and from the entrance of the rink. It took me a bit of time, but I got used to roller skating and was comfortable going at my own pace even though there were plenty of other people zooming by and doing tricks. Staff are rude af and unprofessional. This is NOT beginner friendly, they don't offer any help or advice, you're meant to figure it out on your own, while being forced to be in the middle so you have NO WALL to hold on to or practice. Don't expect any staff to help you because their attitude is "what kind of instructions were you even expecting??? Everyone here is a beginner and they just figure it out" when that was ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE. Love this place. Came a Saturday and line was outside almost till the end of the building but came back on a Sunday and there was no line. We got dressed up and took lots of pictures. They stagger the rink in groups, sometimes they will announce that it is only for experts so that they can have the whole rink and other time it's for all skaters. Only thing to keep in mind is to stay in the middle/avoid the left because the more advanced skaters skate on the outer ring and tend to be very fast. They also have a concession stand and lockers to rent which are cash only. They accept debit and cash at the entrance when you pay for the admission and skate rentals. Besides skating, you can also play arcade games, foosball and pool/billiards.Make sure to check their website to see if it's an adult only night or if there's a music theme such as greatest hits etc. read more

First time here. We came as a group on a Saturday night. Long line up but it was worth it. We had a choice between quads and inlines skates (needless to say I chose quads!). If you need a break or you prefer to sit down rather than skate then there are many booths for that. Though I suggest that you make the best out of your time and get on the stage. I haven't been roller skating since the late 80s and honestly this place looks like it hasn't had an update since the 90's video games included which only adds to the ambient experience that roller skating should be. Despite the fact that they do also offer you the option of roller blades or traditional roller skates this will not disappoint in offering you an unique retro experience. The staff are very friendly and admission is moderately priced. There are video games and pool tables and the ilk to entertain those too intimidated to skate as well as having a snack bar. You should remember to bring cash as debit and credit aren't widely accepted here completing that nostalgic experience (also no ATMs). Scooters offers a wide variety of skating nights that can suit your group. The weekend skates seem to be the most popular but beware you will have to wait in a line no matter the hour to get in. Also there are many regulars who are very friendly but if you are a novice or moderate skilled skater you might want to consider another time to go. The diversity of people in age and skill level is huge and as such can cause a lot of chaos on the rink despite the staffs best efforts to control it. My only real critique is also that the skating surface seems inconsistent in parts making it slightly challenging for any slower or new skaters to get used to. All in all a very fun time for anyone in your group. read more

Scooter's Roller Palace has been the go to place to be when you want to skate since well before I was born.. so that in itself makes it worthy of my 100th review! As a child this was my go to place! I had multiple birthday parties here as well as hangouts most weekends between age 10-16. What better way to spend a friday night? Scooters! Scooter's is a huge rollerskating facility that caters to all ages and all skill levels. Admission is cheap and does range depending which time you vist (evenings being more). You can rent both skates/blades and safety equipment. Or bring your own! There is plenty of seating areas, snack bar (reasonably priced and all taxes included.) If you get tired, there's also pool, air hockey, and lot's of arcade games. Locker's are 25 cents per use and are required to stash your personal belongings. The whole place is very retro 70s themed which is awesome. There are special themes multiple times a week as well as the opportunity to book birthday parties or private events. I love love love this place. Such a great place to hang out with friends or even with your kids. The music is up to date, and they even throw some old school tracks in (a HUGEEEEE plus!!!) Honestly, I've never appreciated roller skating as much as I have recently. There's just a way different vibe when you have skates on. Everyone is so open and friendly. This place is wonderful for meeting new people. The employees are always super friendly. The place is clean and the lockers are big enough to accommodate shoes and personal belongings. This place gets pretty busy on a Saturday night (there's no wonder there). I suggest getting in a little earlier so you can skate freely. There's some really dope skaters who come weekly, but for some newer skaters, you may enjoy it when the rink is less packed. I'd totally recommend coming here! read more

Quite far from Toronto but I think it was a fun experience. The service was quick and staffs are friendly. As for the environment, small but very retro, chilled and totally gave me the 70's type of feel. Came here for a coupla friends bday celebration and it was very fun! I think the last time I was at Scooter's was at least a decade - or two - ago, either filming something for Rogers Cable 10 or with high school friends. Place has not changed since then. Admission was $10.50pp and an additional $4 for rentals, but it was a total of $13-13.50 for both. Sundays are family days, so it's all ages. Music is Top 40 with a DJ and their version of "lifeguards" who skate along with everyone to ensure beginners are safe! (Shout-out of the staff member who caught me whilst a bunch of tweens were flailing about like Shaggy in front of me and caused me to lose my balance!) There were certain "rules" posted like everyone has to pay to use a locker and each person hasta pay, but if you're just supervising and not skating, you can just sneak in with someone who's paying. Locker rules, I think, just protects the place in cause personal belongings are stolen. You can rent either rollerskates OR rollerblades. Rink was quite sizeable. There were a coupla pretty amazing skaters, so watch out for them! Very fun experience if you're looking for something 'different' to do! I hope it never closes. :) read more

This place is straight out of a 90s music video ! Went here on a Saturday and it was popping with people from all ages and all skill sets. I was a novice in the sport so was escorted to the centre of the rink to go in small rounds while the more experienced took full advantage of a the larger circle . Scooter's Roller Place is pretty decent place to go rollerblading with the family or with your friends. The place looks very vintage which might appeal to the older generations or today's hipsters. The music varies from rock, pop, and hip-hop. They encourage skilled rollerbladers to skate the perimeter of the rink while allowing the centre for the non-experienced. They also have a couple coaches and supervisors on the floor in case someone is in need of assistance. Overall, this place offers a good experience! read more

I used to go to Scooter's regularly as a middle schooler and always had the absolute best time. So, imagine my excitement when my friends planned a little skating party for a Tuesday night (apparently "adults only", 16+). The place hasn't changed in years! I even recognize some of the Halloween decorations. It cost me $13 for entrance and roller skate rental, and other than the fact that I am an absolute walrus on land in roller skates, the entire experience was perfect. Top 40 and retro hits coming through the speakers, disco ball spinning away, three people in light-up skates circling the rink in unison; I could not have asked for more (except maybe a little skating skill). The venue was pretty empty on this Tuesday, with about 25-30 skaters at any given time. Apparently, it's rammed on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, so skate carefully if you venture in on those days! read more

Amazing people!! We visited here then had my daughters 10th birthday party here. They were friendly and we had someone help us with everything. I used to come here alllll the time with my friends growing up and my boyfriend surprised me by bringing me here on a date recently without knowing I grew up coming to this place and it felt sooo nostalgic. Talk about going back to the past! This place is totally awesome and it's a place you should visit with your friends. The vibe brings you back to the 80's even if you weren't born in the 80's and the DJ plays good tunes. For $17 it allows you to skate all night long as well as some rental rollerskates but watch out it is only DEBIT or CASH. If you bring your own you can save around $4 just a heads up. We skated for nearly 2 hours straight and we were totally burnt out so another tip would be to bring some bottled water to leave on the sidelines. Also, if you're not accustomed to skating and you fall, it will hurt so go slowly. The music, vibe, and regulars are what makes this place awesome and trendy. I had an unpleasant experience today at the Scooters Roller Palace. I walked in expecting a warm welcome but was instead greeted by an old, grumpy lady. First thing she tells me rudely is, 'Can you spit out your gum? We have a no gum policy'. There wasn't no rule written anywhere on the website or during the entrance of the store. If she asked nicely I wouldn't have minded but her racist attitude made me not want to return. I was also charged an extra $1.50 for using debit but that wasn't placed anywhere on the website. The staff were also extremely rude to begginer skaters. This is probably one of the most horrific places to be at! Horrible customer services; from the "referees" to the manager. The "referees" are VERY rude and are very disrespectful in the way they talk to the customers! The manager is no better, and not very helpful when trying to bring a complaint to his attention! I seriously love this place and it's mainly bc they have totally maintained the retro 70s feel from ... well, the 70s. I don't think much has changed and I just love that! The rink isn't too busy and is well maintained. There are several people who go often and show off their skills which is cool to watch. They offer rollerblades as well as the old school skates (the ones with 4 wheels) and even have those cute little fisher price ones for the really little kids. Lockers are required. It's $0.25 per use. Which means if you need something, you pay again. So think ahead if you don't want to keep spending quarters. The snack bar is pretty basic. I'm guessing at more populated times it actually has cooked food but when we went in the evening candy, nachos and chocolate were pretty much the only options. It's not like anyone's going there solely to eat though! Cost is pretty reasonable. It was $9 to get in and $4 to rent skates. Honestly, so much fun! More people need to spend time here! read more

My family loves this place! We went here for the New Year's Eve skate for all ages, from 9 pm - 2 am and had a super time. It's not a cheap outing but not prohibitively expensive either. The drinks and food are extremely reasonable. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable! We will definitely go back again. read more

Lots of inline and 4 wheel rollerblades with sizes to accommodate everyone. Admission Prices are fair. There is one pool table, and a few other games to play. Only food option there is pizza which is the reason why I rated it 4/5 stars. Their pizza was worse than pizza pizza left overs. Defiantly brings down the value of this fun place. No outside food is LAME for parties, when all they serve is poison.

Went to Scooters yesterday for the family skate. I take my kids there regularly, but no more. I paid my daughter's admission fee and rental (and she received her wristband)and then was required to pay admission for my son, who was not skating. Ridiculous. He sat in a booth with me for 2 hours. We noticed on this trip that the ATM was broken, there was no popcorn or slushie available at the concession (they'll make some if you ask), and there were very few skaters. Not a single party happening in the 7 or 8 party rooms, either. Obviously, they're struggling but imposing nonsense fees like this on customers is going to hurt their business even more. I also was unable to pay by credit card and would have been forced to accept a $1.50 surcharge on an Interac payment under $20. Seriously, Scooters? We will not be going back. read more

The staff is helpful once you're in . On the other hand the management is extremely rude and have absolutely zero customer service skills . The manager will literally yell at you as you calmly ask her to explain policy about outside food and drink. Which btw I'm assuming is "we make our money on concessions so please support us by not bringing outside food and drink" (which is how the manager was politely advised the proper way to tell someone not to bring food in . Her method was "you can leave I have paying customers in line ". They know they are the last rink so they don't care if you stay or go . Let's put it this way... Take your gluten free,vegan,lactose intolerant, diabetic child to a park instead because they are not welcome here . I mean the manager literally was beet red, yelling at the top of her lungs, throwing her hands at a woman calmly asking why the rule is in place. I personally will never invest in a business who treats people this way . After the scene I searched for reviews and realized it's typical for the manager to kick people out of their own parties for a range of reasons. If you still decide to support this business based on the fact roller skating is awesome ... keep in mind you are paying into a business who only sees you as an income and nothing more .
