Half of my burger with only half the bread covered with ANYTHING
Torrey S.

Only moderately okay. I was in the mood for a burger after my first idea for the night panned. After two really poor experiences at Culver's in Texas, I thought just maybe they would fry the burgers to a crisp so close to the mothership. I was right, but the bread was nearly burnt. I was not offered any dipping sauce by the nice young man who took my order, so I got dry (no sauce, that is) cheese curds. When I asked about a dipping sauce, the young lady delivering my order was like, "Um, so do you t want some sauce?" No, dear, I asked to hear myself talk. She came and told me they charge for the ranch, so I gave her some money and finally on the third trip...you get the idea. So let's talk about the burgers. Again, not fried like over-crisp roadkill, but there's a reason Joshua Weissman ranked them near the bottom of all fast food burgers - no seasoning at all. NONE. So again, let's talk about the dining room. Poorly laid out, this night it was full of loud children, what appeared to be a very old birthday party, and a corner booth full of high school athlete bros. Parents let their kids amble into the walkways a bit, but the real problem here was the bros walking over the table, being way too loud, and trying to gather money to pay the guy buying their beer. I know because it was that loud. Instead of toning them down a worker walked over and asked if one of them wanted a free milkshake. That was chaos. Just now, two young teen girls decided to race to the catsup bar. Nobody is acting in charge in this place. I started this at three stars, but that was an overshot.

This is how we received our custard at the drive-thru. Must've been sitting on their counter for awhile.

Here visiting our old neighborhood. We used to love getting the frozen custard flavor of the day at Culver's, so we had to make a stop. Went to the drive-thru, which was confusing because there are two speakers to order from. We ordered from the first where no total cost was given but whatever... then as we moved our car forward and approached the second speaker, that person also asked for our order... but we told them we had already ordered so they told us to keep going. Not a big deal, but weird. Then at the window, we received our scoop in a cup. What happened? The portion was so small compared to what we've received in the past, and it was already HALF MELTED. So disappointed. To top the experience off, the cars ahead of us were in disarray and it wasn't clear how we could get out. We eventually maneuvered and squeezed our way through. Still giving two stars because the custard, although no longer "frozen" and was more like a thick cold cream soup by the time we received it, still tasted good.

Clean and welcoming, Culver's is my spot for a snack, lunch or dinner with family. Staff is friendly and responds to your name after you placed the order. I came in for an afternoon treat and loved my custard Flavor of the day- Really Reese's! Tables are outside for nice weather dining. I love their seasonal ice during summer.I will be coming back. Thanks Culver's - I am a fan. Cheers!~

Chocolate ice cream with salted caramel and cashews, which were a unique and welcome addition.

Mid afternoon and I was craving chocolate ice cream. Mine came with salted caramel and cashews. Yum. Flavorful, crunchy, salty and sweet. And I didn't even need to get out of the car.

What took me so long to come back??

Reflections on my latest visit (a recent afternoon at Culver's) Friendly, attentive and engaged service, Uniform was clean and professional, food delivered to your table, very clean, burgers kinda remind me of In N Out, heavy burgers, ice cream too??, flavor of the day...clean and organized...is there a secret menu?? Bright...interior was bright, flat screens (seeing the interior of the restaurant in my mind's eye), groups of people meeting and catching up, teenagers eating peacefully, busy drive thru can be distracting if you sit by a window, finally - almost got ran over walking to my car by an old lady in a beater (junky car). Whew, that was close... And those are my thoughts at a very high level. If you can recall, Jollibee tried to purchase Culver's but we're denied so they ended up buying Smashburger instead. And I can see why, Culver's food is delicious and is very close to In N Out flavor. I'm so happy that there are two Culver's very close to me (Niles and Skokie). However, this is the only 4 star rated Culver's in these parts. So I tip my hat to the owner, managers and staff. Pro-tip - Complete the survey (look at your receipt) and get a free serving of ice cream. Please install speed bumps in your parking lot because Gerry T may not be as fast and nimble one day. Salamat (Thank you).

Way too expensive for what you receive. 2 pieces of fish were $18.16 with drink and tax. Makes more sense to go to a real restaurant.

I usually get the Oreo Mixer. It's similar to a McDonalds McFlurry. Service was quick. Prices are a little high.

Better service than chick-fil-a around corner. Staff was attentive and food was as good as I recalled my first experience in rural Illinois.

My boyfriend and I ordered chicken to share as well as waffle fries. My daughter ordered a burger. My aunt ordered chicken as well. My uncle ordered a bowl of sorts with rice and meat. The person taking our order was friendly, patient, and told us to move tables around to accommodate our party of five plus all of the food. The staff also kept giving us free items to try as we were eating, like French fries and a banana pudding. The banana pudding was not large enough to share with everyone so I waited until I was back in the car to head to bingo and split it with my boyfriend. It tasted like banana Laffy Taffy so I am not sure how I feel about that. The breasted chicken was cooked to order, hot, crispy, and had a little kick to it. The rice was flavorful. The onion rings were okay. The waffle fries were definitely superior to the traditional ones. The hamburger was good! The restaurant space was clean, quiet, and spacious. I would make the drive for the broasted chicken again! I wish The Fry Fusion all the success!

I am satisfied with their response and improve my rating from 1 to 4 stars This isn't a negative review of the food which was the standard chain quality (good but don't splurge on it much for health reasons). I was in the area for a play and picked up a local friend. I went here because an acquaintance (who since died) gave me multiple gift cards to Portillos which I needed to use. I had 4 cards, not sure how much was left on them. We got $27 worth of food and I started handing the cashier the cards. She told me to scan them on the read light reader. Only one had a scannable bar code. She was not sure how to read the others. My friend suggested she swipe it on keyboard, she didn't seem to know this already. Card 1 red light scanned ok. Card 2 swiped ok. Card 3 she swiped and it didn't register, unclear if it worked. Card 4 brought the total to 0$. She wasn't going to give the last 2 cards back and asked for the other two. My tried to clarify that card 4 might have value left, she confidently said no. I was suspicious since the total couldn't have exactly matched my bill. The next day I looked at the receipt and it clearly said there was money left on the card, over 8$. It's unclear whether card 3 had money or she just didn't scan it. I'm presuming this was poor training but it has an element of malicious intent since she was so confident I had nothing left on the card and requested keeping all the cards. If you have gift cards beware going here unless staff are trained. Receipt attached for proof. If the business is reading this, can I cat my money back? Card 3 was for $10 value but not clear if it was touched or not.

My 15 year old often finds her way here for dinner with friends, but I've yet to step inside. However, I have doordashed on a few occasions and it's always something that the entire family of 5 can agree on...which isn't so easy when it comes to choosing a doordash restaurant. The cheeseburger itself isn't very big, but I think the perfect size. And for those super hungry or a bottomless pit like my 13 year old son they have the option of a double cheeseburger. And if you're looking to go a little healthier you can get your single (or double) cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. A great addition to the North Shore and I hope we get more locations soon!

Burger patty seemed completely non-seasoned and absolutely none of the smoky flavor I've always associated with a Small Cheval burger. Kind of dry and overcooked, straight off a griddle. The fries were pretty good, best part of the meal. The chocolate shake was, somehow, kind of bland. Not sweet enough, typical fast food soft serve tasting. It's upsetting when you get a place in the suburbs and you have expectations based on what you had in the city. Then you go to the suburban location and you feel kind of taken advantage of. As though you somehow didn't know what to expect because you lived a few miles north. Like there maybe was a presumption you hadn't been to the real deal and the name would just be enough. The price is still the same, though. That part didn't change. Will not be back.
