I've been to Culver's in other cities, and when I saw that one was opening near me I knew I had to check it out. It was busy at lunch but service was quick and efficient, and the butter burger was served with a smile. The owner was helping bus tables (I knew she was the owner because her name tag had it on there) and asking people how they enjoyed their meals. The Crinkle fries hit the spot. I went to Culver's for lunch today and got take out for my wife and I. We both got a bacon cheeseburger and cheese curds. I also got a chocolate milkshake and my wife got a soft drink. The food was delicious and the service was very good. While putting my shake in a drink carrier, I accidentally spilled it on the poor employee that made it. I was very apologetic but the employee took it in stride and offered to make me a fresh milkshake. I felt bad because it was my fault but I accepted her offer. There is no explanation for this establishment being under 5 stars. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!! It is a good deal, delicious, and fresh. I cannot speak for everything on the menu, however my family of 4 went here to eat, and it was only 41 dollars! The kids meals are great. It was $6.29 for 2 good-sized chicken tenders, a small portion of fries (both very fresh), a fountain drink, and a scoop of frozen custard that comes with a topping! Additionally the manager was very warm and nice, and offered us free frozen custard samples. The employees are also very kind. All in all, we will be coming back! read more

Culver's is terrific and this location in Macedonia, OH is one of the best I've ever been to! I had a double butterburger with cheese and it was cooked to perfection. This places kicks butt. It really does. I had super low expectations. But their burger seriously slaps and I love their onion ring. Oh and cheese curds. Their root beer float wasn't bad either; ice cream tastes good but sometimes it has iced over and just needs some temp regulation. Staff has always been friendly. I wasn't particularly fond of our experience at Culver's. I had heard that they are more known for their ice cream, which we were going to try, but we also wanted to grab a quick lunch. I think that their menu board is a little overkill maybe more along the lines of confusing. Maybe because I have four kids, and am a cheapskate, we typically do not order any food as a meal or a combo. We get items ala cart and typically drink ice water, which is better for you than soda! Here's where the confusion comes in...it appears when you look at the menu that you are getting a combo for a certain price that comes with a certain side and a drink, but when you get to the register you realize that is not the case. I was really surprised at the bill but did not want to question it at the register; instead, we picked a table and tried to make sense of the break down. I politely inquired when one of the staff members was walking around the dining area. She said that the drink does come with the meal but you have to pay tax on it. I question that tax on a five dollar meal is about $2, which is the actual cost of the drink or somewhere along those lines. So, in summary, when you go and you think you are getting a combo meal with a drink, you're actually getting a sandwich and a side- not a drink as it seems to appear on the menu board. Yeah I wrote too much about the prices, but what you really go here for is probably the ice cream. Because we didn't have a great dining experience we opted not to get anything else. The food was mediocre and wasn't anything that we would return for. Would we go here again? Yes, if we were in the area and wanted to grab something (other than from many of the other decent food options in the area) we would probably give it another try, knowing what to expect. read more

I waited all week to take the 15 to 20 minute drive to get the cappuccino crunch ice cream. If I would have been blind folded I never would have known that was cappuccino Ice cream. It was also overwhelmed with cookie chunks what flavor they were supposed to be I still have no clue. The best thing would have been the small pieces of chocolate. Maybe you needed to rename this to cookie crunch. I will be more careful next time. We went through the drive through or I would have gone back up to the counter and gave it back but we were headed for home. I will be more careful next time if there is one for Custard and pull over in the lot and taste it before we head for home. Yuck...better work on that mystery flavor. read more

Update 08/14/21: Today was maybe my 5th visit, arriving right at noon, and I expected a bit of a wait. I had to flag down one of the runners to get my food after 30 minutes of waiting. Car after car got their food before I did. There is something wrong with their business model if they can't fill orders in the order taken in a timely fashion. Sometimes you have to write a review you just don't want to write. This is that review. I love Culver's, the custard, the burgers, it's just all around great food, but today was such an utter disappointment. We live in Mayfield Heights so Macedonia isn't right down the block, but Culver's is truly a destination kind of place because once you arrive you know everything is going to be just right. That was not the case today and this might just be a deal breaker. I ordered a turtle sundae and neither the hot fudge nor the caramel were hot, in fact they weren't even warm. That's completely unacceptable especially when East Coast Custard is right down the street in Lyndhurst and to be quite honest East Coast Custard's custard (say that three times fast) is on a whole other playing field. Plus the hot fudge and caramel are always the perfect temperature and the whipped cream is like your grandma used to make. Culver's get your act together, this location in Macedonia has been open long enough that you shouldn't be making such rookie mistakes. read more

I do not understand the hype of this place. The fries are bland, the famous butter burger that everyone raves about is just a thin over cooked burger with no flavor. The only redeeming thing about this place is the ice cream. It's pretty good and there aren't many ice cream places around here during the winter which is the only reason I will ever go there. The drive thru is always so slow even when no one is there and the workers all look bored. I mean I don't expect them to be jumping for joy while taking my order but the one dude literally just stared at me the whole time I placed my order. Never smiled or seemed friendly, kind of creeped me out. UPDATE: I have gone to this location multiple times since this review and they consistently get my order wrong. Whether it's ice cream, burgers, or the size of a meal they never listen correctly to my order. It's like the people just don't listen over the headset and I'm constantly receiving food that is incorrect. I would recommend going somewhere other than here. read more

This place was not worth the hour long drive! For four adults, our total was $46.00 just to eat bad fast food! The staff was extremely disorganized, which is to be a bit expected whenever it's the grand opening of a business; however, they had children (as young as 10) working there- I'm curious how this is legal? As for the food, the turtle sundae was a huge disappointment. The texture of the ice cream was gritty & all the caramel was on the bottom. It was over powered by thick hot fudge & no pecans or walnuts what-so-ever...yet I was charged $4.00. Their sundaes are the exact same size as McDonald's! The crinkle cut fries tasted like they were frozen, we never got our pop & the cheese curds were nothing to write home about. More breading than flavorless cheese. My parents said the burgers were just "okay" at best. The overall design of the building was not well thought out & is going to end in an accident, guaranteed. The main entrance faces the drive thru as well as the employee exit so you have people walking in front of your vehicle. Then if you're in line to place an order, the drive thru blocks anyone who has parked near the patio in. Unless the lane was empty there is absolutely no way you could get out. Despite it also being busy inside, the service was still good and the employees were nice! :) I initially ordered it "for here" but when one of the employees came out to give me my order he saw me standing around waiting and asked if I wanted it to go instead! Honestly not sure what the hype is. I got a mushroom Swiss butter burger and cheese curds. It was fine but not really anything to rave about. I felt sort of gross after. The cheese curds were alright. They were a mix of yellow and white cheese which I haven't seen before. Also it's kind of annoying how you have to pull up in the drive through and someone has to come outside to deliver your food. It was the middle of the day and hardly no one was there, but I can't imagine this during busy times or also winter in Ohio. If you're into one star about standard drive through food, this is probably the place for you. read more

I love Culver's and have eaten at other locations. We waited in the drive through tonight for an hour. Seriously. An hour. We could have went to outback and eaten in the same time frame. Had to order twice, screwed up our order. Total cluster bumble. No manager ever approached us as we waited in the drive through line. The worst experience I have ever had at a fast food restaurant. No plans to go again anytime in the near future. Now, after an hour and fifteen minutes, I've been informed we won't get our food. I was given $27 in cash when our credit card was charged $17.46. I guess I'll throw $10 in the collection basket Sunday. I don't think they could have possibly done a worse job. Thankfully there is a Swensons close enough in Cuyahoga falls. Cheese curds + delicious burger = great lunch! I have to admit that I had been wanting to try Culver's for quite awhile and was excited to go for lunch on Father's Day. It is about a 35-40 minute drive for is to get to Culver's in Macedonia, and we waited about 30 minutes in line. My family and I ordered butter burgers (american cheese on mine), and we sampled cheese curds, onion rings and fries. Okay, so I will have to take a picture next time as in all honesty, my burger did not last long once we found a place to park and eat. My only regret is that I wish that I had ordered a second burger. The butter burger did not disappoint; it was tender, deliciously flavored, cheesy, and the cheese curds were a good alternative to fries. I have had poutine in Canada (fries with cheese curds and gravy) but never just fried cheese curds, so this was a first and they add a new level to the whole burger flavor experience. Overall, Culver's was a thoroughly delicious and enjoyable dining experience...even in the car! read more

OMG! They have tenderloin sandwiches! Two staples of the "real" midwest were tenderloin sandwiches and Maid-Rite sandwiches, and Culvers has introduced one of my favorites to this area. A little mustard (okay, a lot of mustard) dill pickles and a couple of napkins will do it! Kudos to Culvers and their new owners.
