The custard is really good and you will make a special trip when you crave it. That all being said the piece that makes this spot is the amazing customer service by the managers. Checking out the new Culvers in Lutz/ on 54. At first, I thought it was going to be a long wait since they were pretty busy at 4pm but surprisingly it was not a long wait to order and be served. I tried the "Original" and my husband tried the Double Cheeseburger, Onion Rings and their Root beer. My son tried the dbl bacon burger with cheese basket. At first, their order came to the table wrong (1- dbl burger w/out cheese and 2- dbl bcn without the bacon or cheese) however the gentleman passing through the beautifully decorated dining room, asked us how everything and was quick to correct our order (2 minute turn-around) and let the boys have the initial order to boot rather than taking it away to dump it, like some other places do. This hamburger was a bit salty but not as strong as I thought it would be, in fact it left a good after taste too. Compared to Five Guys, it was juicy but not overly greasy and the bread does not fall apart on you. Compared to Fuddruckers, well for me, beats Culvers. The crispy fries reminded me of the carnival kind and not the McDee's processed- full of salt kind. The dining is decorated very nicely and you feel like you're in a family restaurant- clean and relaxed regardless how busy. The root beer reminded my husband of what you get in Ronks, PA- the real deal. Next time, we will try out the NA COD fish and desserts, needless to say, it was filling and it's time for a walk. The girls in my office get very excited when a new restaurant opens up near by. This week was opening week for Culvers and I think the girls have been there 3 times to try something different. Today I caved in and joined a big group of people who ordered take out. They did well keeping our orders straight. I am not a big red meat eater, if I was, they may have earned more stars. I hear the real reason anyone should go here is for the milkshakes and burgers but I can't speak of those from experience. I had the Buffalo Chicken tenders. They were spicy white meat chicken breast tenders. Good, but not anything I would go out of my way for. They reminded me of the chicken tenders that are served at Dairy Queen or football games. The fries are crispy but not very much flavor. The cheese curds are tasty and better then the fries if you are into eating fried cheese at all. Everything is very greasy. They do offer salads but nothing that is really good for you. It is in a very convenient spot on S.R. 56 and 75, right by the New Tampa Outlet mall. read more

Another new place to try that was extremely busy. We didn't do our research as surprised that this was your average fast food restaurant with their specialty ice cream options. They give u a number upon ordering and they bring food to you which took forever. Kids did not like chicken fingers and burgers were average. Kids liked the onion rings and devoured all of mine. Kids go to try their ice cream since I had a free coupon and were satisfied. Paid almost $30 for our entire meal. We opt to next time go to a sit down restaurant and spent the same. We are addicted to the hand battered cod! Very flakey, tender, and meaty. Fries and coleslaw are also yummy. Had the strawberry custard once, was kind of grainy. Mabe just a bad batch. Hubby had chocolate and said it was good. Burgers are good. We'll definitely be regulars. read more

We went to this location not once but twice. And both times this place has made us sick afterwards I'm not sure why we go to our normal location all the time on Florida Ave and never have once had a issue. I thought 1st time was a coincidence but now twice we know it's just that location. We ordered $30 in food and our hamburgers were cooked to a crisp and dried out, fries were not hot either. We did go at 10 at night but this location is open till 1030 and should still be serving hot fresh food at that time. I think they reheated our Patty's from earlier ones because they were crispy. We are really feeling sick and nauseous today from it. I dont think we will be coming to this location anymore it really was a waste of money. Awe man, I expected more from my fellow yelpers thus far. 4 and 5 stars really! Maybe they are just excited to see the new eateries popping up in the area skewing their tastebuds' reasoning. Good new location by the outlets. They were packed; we waited in line for a long time and took even longer for food to come out. But the restaurant is still new so it's understandable. Food is brought out to table so thats a nice touch. Hot burger and fries... but no seasoning whatsoever on burger and no salt on fries! It's fast food, so don't think you are eating somewhere super fancy, it's not a Five Guys or Whataburger but it's better than McDonalds or Wendy's. I had a double bacon deluxe burger. It was fresh, juicy and flavorful. The fries were pretty good. Don't fool yourself that this is a fancy burger joint but do enjoy the good burger that they have here. This place is fantastic from beginning to end. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the cashiers! The menu is very wide from chicken tenders, soups, salads, delicious burgers and ice cream! I always get the snack pack meal which includes a drink, burger, and fries for $5! Food comes out in a few minutes and it's always fresh and delicious! The burgers are juicy and filled with sooo much flavor! And for $5 I am full and satisfied BUT there's always room for Culver's creamy ice cream! It's tasty and stands out from the rest! Absolutely disappointed with their service. I ordered a sandwich, paid, and then waited for my meal. The lady came to me mentioned the number I had and gave me my meal. To sum up my review right away my verdict is that this place is just okay. Nothing great as far as food is concerned, very over hyped and over rated. That being said customer service is great, and so is the cleanliness. So I've gone here three total times at the recommendation of my coworkers. The first time we had a very large group order her and a lot of mistakes were made. They decided to send a driver to our workplace to deliver the correct items again customer service fantastic. We gave them another shot as a result of their customer service and ordered again. The order was not as large and we checked things over better this time. A few corrections needed to be made again but they were super nice about it. Their restaurant is usually very busy but due to having a large crew they keep it very clean which is impressive. The third and most recent time order wise everything was right but nothing was consistent. One burger was colder one was hot, the fisher dinner one was delicious one was a pile of grease. One basket got a side of sauce and the same one in another bag did not. Very inconsistent. When this place first came to town everybody was talking about how amazing culvers was I heard a lot of good things. Overall I have been disappointed in the food quality. Cheese curds are good, so is the custard but in my opinion red robin and Hardee's have better burgers and Rita's has better custard. Overall comparing it to other fast food places similar to it not even counting burger 21 or burger monger due to being more expensive I found this place to be very average and I have no idea where the raving was coming from. Very clean, very friendly staff but overall I find lots of other chain places to be just as good or better when it comes to the food quality. If it was not for the customer service my rating would be much lower if I was judging on food quality alone. read more

Ok so I'm only giving a 3 out of 5 stars. Wen through the drive through and had to order 5 meals. All with their own special requests. I got the butter burger and it was soooo small. I was sad. I thought if anything was named butter burger than it should be good. But I was wrong. It was a boring thin burger. Ok the the other issue I have...the kids meals don't actually come with some junky toy. My kid loves junk toys so she was slightly disappointed. We went through the the drive through for our food. So after you order, you pay, and then get a number and pull up and wait. We waited for quite some time. Prob due to the numerous varying orders we had. It was just meh. I wasn't impressed nor disappointed. We will be back I am sure since we live so close to it. read more

Reminds me of a Steak and Shake which I like because it is a good burger, better than most, at a good price, except the Culver burger is too expensive. On a Saturday night the drive through was packed because of the mall right there. If you have never tried it, go into Denny's and order their double cheeseburger meal with fries at 1/2 the price and I am sure you will enjoy the Denny's meal better. I feel they have modeled their hiring practices after Chik Fil A, as I get the same vibe of courtesy, clean fresh faced, smiling employees. Food has been consistently hot and delicious each time. This restaurant is located close by for us and we have been here a few times. It misses getting five stars because it is quite pricey for fast food. My husband and I both ordered value baskets and I got a Short mixer as well and our bill was almost $23.00. That being said I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and I loved it. The meat tastes fresher than most fast food places and I like that I can order something other than fries if I want. I had the mashed potatoes and they were really good. The Oreo mixer I had was good as well. My husband doesn't really like their fries but I didn't try them. We don't come here often because of the price and there are other places we like in this price range. I don't eat a lot of red meat so when I crave a burger this is one of my go to places. read more

I was lured here by a BOGO coupon of their Concrete Mixers and a girlfriend who reminded me every week she wanted to go. We pulled during lunchtime on a holiday weekend and I was pleasantly surprised the place was completely packed. Part of it may have been that the new Chik-Fil-A opened next door and probably attracts a larger crowd (why people love Chik-Fil-A so much still boggles my mind but that's not the point). So we found a parking spot and headed inside only to be faced with a giant menu that I had trouble focusing on any one particular area. I ended up ordering the bacon cheeseburger and fries and a Oreo Concrete Mixer and I have to say their burger was pleasantly good. Much better than your typical fast food burger joint and probably sits on the lower end of "higher end" burger joints like Five Guys or Shake Shack. The Oreo mixer was very good as was the Heath Concrete Mixer. The place was bustling but manageable and the girl behind the counter was very pleasant and helped us through the order, clarifying toppings as we went along. We were given a number and the food was delivered to us within 5-10 minutes of seating. The place was full of excited toddlers and kids all enjoying a day out with the family and I assume a trip? to the outlet mall? Definitely a better tasting fast food burger and fries and now that I know there's no long wait for the food, it'll probably jump to the top of my fast food list. read more
