I was order number 104 tonight. A burger 2 fries and 2 ice creams for the kids in the drive through. I paid and they asked me to pull up. I waited for over 30 minyan they kept bringing food to the cars behind me. I then asked the food runner what happened and he said he asked and they never saw my ticket. So then they started my order and after 45 minutes I get it. When I got home the burger was cold and had no bun. I called and talked to the manager Stephanie. She said they are short staffed and made excuses for how it could have happened. When I said ok I guess I won't come back again she said ok and hung up. Our fist time here, and the LAST time. I don't think I've EVER had a burger that was this lousy, in my life! I ordered a cheeseburger, since you can build your own, mine was pretty a regular cheeseburger, withe lettuce, tomato, pickle, cheddar cheese. What I got was a paper thin OVER fried piece of meat, that had weird crispy bits hanging off the side of it..... *ONE* teeny tiny pickle, maybe the side of a nickel (no lie. no exaggeration ) a HALF of a paper THIN slice of tomato, and seriously, the lettuce was shredded, I think total maybe 5 shreds of lettuce in there, and an onion, I did NOT ask for. and (again, *I asked for cheddar cheese*) they gave me Swiss..... I had left my phone in the car, or I would have taken a picture of this very pathetic burger....Fries were fine..... My husband picked up a chicken sandwich from the drive thru. As he opened the wrapper to take a bite and he noticed something fell out. He stopped the vehicle and searched and it was a partial human fingernail that landed on his lap. He then looked inside of his sandwich and found the other piece of the fingernail. He went back and notified management (a gentleman) of what occurred with disgust and they offered to make a new sandwich. But my husband told management that he doesn't want another chicken sandwich as he's grossed out and didn't want the same thing to happen again. I believe Culver's employees' are making food with their bare hands. We will no longer visit any of them after this gross nightmare. I'm very surprised by the negative reviews I've seen. I've had nothing but great service at this Culver's, and the quality of the food is very good. Burgers are tasty and generous (a little greasy for my taste, but they are advertised as butter-burgers, so I can't fault them for delivering!). The frozen custard is always delicious, the fries are good, and their chicken tenders are always moist and tasty, never dry like the gross boneless wings at BWW in town. Oh, and the fish sandwich was so scrumptious! The only reason I can think they might have lower reviews is that the regular customers who come here (and there are many, because it's dependably good!!) all tend to be on the older end of things, and might not be as active on Yelp, etc. We've been here a few times and have more than once been the only under-50 couple in the dining room! The staff has always been so friendly and nice, especially to our little son that we bring with us. Definitely the best place in Sturgis to get a quick burger. Wait time and cost was on par with a quarter pounder from McD's, and the food is much, much better. read more

I do not buy/eat fast food often but when I do I try to pick out the fast food restaurants that's not quite as bad as others. With that being said I tried Culvers last night for their fish dinner. First of all of all it was $12 which is not that bad considering it's supposed to be wild caught fish. My experience there was horrible. First the woman taking the order was so rude I couldn't believe it. I even said something to her about it and she still never said she was sorry and was still very rude. But to the most important part .....the food was horrible they include the coleslaw and there was just a few french fries. The fish was so greasy that I had to pull all of the breading off of it in order to even eat it. The lemon look like it had been taken out of the trashcan. I'm not so sure it wasn't! I've included pictures. Marking Culver's off my fast food list for sure! I emailed corporate office about this matter and the girl from the location of Culvers that I had just been called me on the phone ( when I had indicated I wanted only to receive emails) and said she had talk to the woman and I must've not heard her say she was sorry. Awful awful customer service. 14 workers standing at the front with a lobby full of customers and only one register open. Employees hollering orders and at customers. Finished our meal and ordered a Togo order and they took 30 minutes for a cheeseburger and fries y'all. And it was wrong too. Manager had no control and half the staff was just standing around on their phones or talking to each other. Customers had to go to register to figure out if they could order or not. This will be my last visit. Ordered several meals and wanted 2 pints of flavor of the day. I was informed they are not doing pints. No pints huh! so i ordered 2 - 2 scoops and guess what my bill when up $2.00. Ok it's just $2.00 but they used to sell quarts...then pints and now I guess just scoops. Went through the drive-thru and ordered one vanilla ice cream and one chocolate ice cream and a small water. Received the water immediately at the window and then was told to pull forward and wait for the ice cream to come out. After 40 minutes a car hop brought us the ice cream. The ice cream was melted and dripping down their hands and we were not given napkins. We were not the only customers that were left waiting. I got cold food that should've been at least warm and the yogurt was mostly melted. Food and service is always excellent here. Friendly and helpful staff. Restrooms were clean and well stocked and restaurant is family friendly. Ordered the Big Culvers deluxe with bacon, fries and drink. Wife ordered big bacon deluxe value pack and daughter got the chicken tender basket kids meal. All food looked and tasted great. You can definitely tell it was made fresh and did not take long at all as some of the previews reviews. I will always choose this place over the other "steakburger" place in town. I usually don't ever leave reviews but it's gotten to the point where I felt it was necessary. My boyfriend and I usually absolutely love going to this location to get frozen custard, but lately we've had multiple negative experiences. We always order chocolate concrete mixers with brownie and Oreo and they used to be made right and delicious. Unfortunately, the last few months every time we order no matter what time of day they don't give us chocolate instead they give us vanilla and I always make sure to ask loud enough for chocolate. The vanilla just isn't the same and it's so disappointing to not get what you ordered. On top of not getting the chocolate like we asked the brownies are old, hard and dry and when you bite into it it just crumbles apart and doesn't taste right, the Oreos are also usually stale making us unable to even finish the custard which is a waste of our money. This usually is our go to spot anytime we want ice cream but now neither of us even have the desire or appetite to go and it's so incredibly disappointing. read more

We're so excited that Culver's has finally opened in Hendersonville! The fresh hamburgers and frozen custard (premium ice cream to we southerners) are the best. I can swap out fries for green beans or mashed potatoes with gravy and my kids are still happy here. Try their soups. High prices for low quality burgers. It's enjoyable but I would rather a burger that isn't completely soaked in grease. Picked my burger up and it was dripping with grease. They have really good burgers and the place is brand new. Our overall evaluation of four stars was a combination of excellent service and good burgers that are large enough to share. The price is about what upscale burger shops charge and may be a little pricey for some folks but the size of the burger mitigates this somewhat. As a diehard Chicago Bears fan I rarely like anything from Wisconsin. So to get over this I like to tell myself that Culver's is from the town of Culver, Indiana. It's not but it makes me feel better. When it comes to fast food burger joints it's hard to beat Culvers, unless you're looking for a cheap meal. I'm just saying in the realm of fast food burger joints, they're probably in the top 3 when you factor in things like menu selections, variety of food, and size of their dessert menu. Their burgers are very good, much better than McDonald's and Burger King. Not as good as a Five Guys burger, but close. They always have coupons, but even so they can be on the pricey side. Recently I ordered the deluxe bacon double cheeseburger value basket, which is $9, so to me that isn't much of a value for a fast food place. I had a $1 off coupon bringing it to $8 so that's getting it more where it should be. My wife ordered a value basket as well and also used a $1 off coupon. My wife actually ordered first and when she asked about side choices the cashier said she can have any side with her burger. Her value basket was about $7 with the coupon. So when I placed my order I asked to confirm what the cashier said and she repeated it, so I chose onion rings. The total came to $17 even with our coupons so I questioned the amount. The cashier assured me she had the order correct. After we sat down waiting for our food I was looking over the receipt and saw they charged me $1 for onion rings. I asked the cashier about it and she said, "You requested a premium side and it costs a $1 more." I told her she should have told me this when I placed the order. She didn't reply. I wasn't going to squabble over a dollar so I went back to my table. So even with coupons it can be on the high side. We didn't order dessert and we didn't upsize anything. I took a bite of my bacon cheeseburger and didn't taste bacon. So I pulled it apart and saw only one piece of bacon. I probably should have taken it to the counter and requested it be corrected, but my wife and I were hoping to enjoy a quiet evening getting a bite to eat and running a few errands. I already questioned one thing and didn't want to be up and down from the table so I let it go. It's hard to enjoy a meal like that. Culver's has a bigger dessert menu than every other fast food burger chain, and the frozen custard is very good. The interior is much nicer than most fast food places as well. Not to mention it has always been clean when we've visited. I like too that when there's a line another person comes up to help take orders. They actually use the extra registers unlike some places. Also, the employees have always been friendly. Many times you go to a fast food place and it's clear the employees hate being there. You don't get that impression at all with Culvers. Although I didn't receive good service on our recent visit, most often it is good. So if spending $9 to $10 for a fast food meal is okay with you and you want fast food without feeling like you're at a fast food place, go to Culvers. read more

I visited there tonight and left frustrated!! I ordered over $50 of food including 2 kids meals that come with a scoop of yogurt. I asked if I could get the frozen yogurt after I eat and the answer was yes. After dinner, I go to get the dessert and it was horrible. Culver's has great food and service is about 80% perfect all the time. My son has a few issues that make eating very difficult at times. When he finds something he will eat , I will make sure he has it on hand at all times. Culvers chicken tenders are it, so buy 2 - 8 pieces every time , every 3 days or so. A week and a half ago , I noticed on my bank statement I was charged twice when picking up his chicken. I called explained but without my receipt there wasn't much they could do, manager was going to look at camera footage and something and call me back that was 9 days ago with no call back. I have been there 3 times since for my son's chicken and have been asking for a receipt every time, just in case it happens again. Moral of the story is make sure you get a receipt, only way to protect yourself. The money is not a real big deal, the not getting called back was more of a disappointment. Funny thing is I was not looking for money back, just chicken for the charge would have made myself and my son happy. I was never given a chance to express this once I said what happened. I think it was assumed i was looking for money. In the end they have great food, once my son has run his course of their chicken and moved on, so will I. Ask for a receipt. read more

For fast food, the burgers are pretty tasty. I recently had their sweet potato fries and they were great as well. I don't usually order their fries and get their green beans instead which are always fresh tasting. Of course their custard is awesome every time I'm here. We've had a difficult time eating at this particular location. Three of four times we waited in a line of people to order and due to the time it was taking we finally left. People were standing around waiting for food as well. We're not high maintenance but there are only certain meals for which I'll wait to order and fast food isn't one of them. At least not when there are numerous options nearby. We finally got to eat on our fourth attempt. The food was ok. The claim is butter buns. They were fresh and tasty. Overall, the burger was fine. The fries were nothing spectacular. Everything was hot and served within a reasonable time. Now the important thing..we did have ice cream (or custard). We each got the sundae style mini servings with toppings. I was a little disappointed that the toppings were few and right on top. The turtle was by far the best of what we had. I think this is a great spot for families with children. It's a good spot for large groups as there are plenty of choices that aren't all hamburgers. For a burger it won't be my "go-to" place. It's nothing bad but my tastebuds have become more selective as I've aged and I have to watch what I eat more closely. Very tasty Midwest chain finally arrived down South. If you like cheese, you'll love this place. Classic butter burgers and fries. Everything from grilled cheese to pot roast.
