This Culver's deserves more than 5 stars. I came in with my 99-year-old grandmother, and the staff were absolutely wonderful to us. We forgot her handicap placard and needed some help figuring things out safely, and the team handled everything with patience, kindness, and generosity. They made us feel welcome, never rushed, and genuinely cared for. My grandmother had a great meal, and I am very grateful for how thoughtful everyone was. I use to love going here but a day where I ordered lunch changed everything when I found large hair in my burger. I almost threw up at the sight tossing the burger back in the bag. I called the manager her response was " OH MY GOD." She then offered the burger to be remade but I was at work already and not returning. I've been eating at this location for years and while it's not what it used to be they still put out some decent, reasonably priced food. And of course the above average frozen custard! On this visit we ate in and ordered a butterburger with cheese, the "new" chicken sandwich, and a large fry. So, our order came out wrong. They didn't offer us a receipt at any point and apparently we had been charged for this order, which was a double burger with cheese, the chicken sandwich, no fries. They quickly brought me out some fresh fries at no charge, which I figured averages out the cost of the double burger, so no big deal... but they should be paying a bit more attention. The food was mostly on point. The chicken sandwich is advertised as less dry and more seasoned and it hits those notes well. A good sandwich. The burger was good minus the bun, which was maybe old or stale. The bun on the chicken sandwich was excellent so it was odd to see such a difference. The fries were piping hot. They're good quality but kind of bland. After, I got a Concrete. With chocolate custard, peanut butter, and marshmallow. Again, no receipt, and I felt like it was missing the marshmallow. There were a few ice crystals in it as well, so while it was still good it wasn't up to the quality I expect. The place is still a nicer sit down experience than you'd get at other fast food places but tables weren't clean and needed a wipe down. Culver's always hits the spot. The cheese curds? Crispy, golden perfection -- I swear they could solve most of life's problems. The ButterBurger with cheese was juicy, flavorful, and that buttered bun should honestly win awards. It's not my first visit, and definitely not my last. I want to give this place 5 stars because of most of the workers and the food for the most part is always excellent. I go to this location on 83 on the regular but recently it's starting to be a inconvenience when after you order and there are NO CARS waiting and they ask you to park in a spot to the right when the line in front is empty also. Culver's is already looking good in times because their timer resets once the car pulls forward. Even if there is 1 or 2 cars waiting. By the time you order, someone waiting is getting their food. Other locations don't do this with the exact same set up. It should be the line on the side, then you fill the parking spots. That has been the traditional spot for picking up your food while we wait. Not to mention it also keeps the workers safe from having to cross the parking lot to deliver someone's food. Their safety is most important. I can understand when you're slammed but going there when it's not busy shouldn't be that hard to help us while we help you. read more

Stopped by here to get my friend something to eat because he is picky with food and we are about to go to a Thai restaurant where he probably won't try things there. Drive through was fast so service was good. I of course had to have my Blueberry, Strawberry and Banana Shake with fries. Yes I know it's too cold for shakes but was craving it. This Culver's location was fast and quick considering the drive thru line was decently long. I decided to go with the infamous butter burger and wisconsin cheese curds. The butterburger wasn't amazing and almost had too many toppings on it. It was pretty messy and didn't have a distinct flavor. The wisconsin curds were cold and not very enjoyable to eat either. Overall the food was subpar and not very memorable. I was very disappointed by my meal. read more

This Culver's consistently does not include all of our food. Most recently, we were stiffed 2 butterburgers. It was rush hour and the kids were hangry so it was extra-annoying. Should my partner have checked the bag of food he was given? Yes. However, the food should have all been there. Every time. I'll start this with a positive by saying the quality and consistency of the food is 9 out of 10 times spot on. Having said that, they suffer the same issue as many fast food restaurants, and that is you can always tell when there is no adult on site to oversee the "children". Quality drops, wait times go through the roof, and you can always hear the children at play when you're paying for your food. I guarantee there wasn't a responsible adult on site Friday, 10/15, at 10pm. Not a good look. read more

Probably the worst Culver's I've been to. First, their website had cookie dough as the flavor of the day, but they insisted it was snickers swirl. Then when I asked for cookie dough they were out. They were also out of Oreo. Fine, I'll get snickers swirl. Problem was my ice cream had absolutely no snickers in it. My boyfriend's did at least, but they just dumped a bunch of topping crumbs on top. I thought it would be bigger pieces swirled in. My boyfriends burger also had stale bread and seemed dried out like it had just been sitting under a warmer for awhile. OK...stick to the burgers here. They are flavorful. If you are a light eater, the sandwiches will be fine. Deviated from the burgers finally and had to finally write a review. Had a reuben here and am very disappointed. As a person used to real deli sandwiches, ones that are stacked high with meat, this was an eye opener here. Very light on meat. Was still hungry after eating it. Anyone that says a reuben or any other sandwich is good here is commenting on taste only. Not quantity or quality of the meat. The 2 slices of bread put together would be higher than the meat between the slices, the opposite of what you get for about the same price in a real deli sandwich. Will be back for the burgers but will not make the mistake of ordering a sandwitch again. Culvers is a nice alternative to other fast food places with a variety of menu choices. The staff at the Grayslake location are typically friendly and pleasant. The restaurant is not always as clean as it could be but the place gets very busy with lots of people in and out. read more

I love me some Culver's! There's something for everyone, low to reasonably priced and tasty, tasty. The staff has always been really friendly in my experience at this (and most) locations. Favs of mine are the lemon ice (spring/summer seasonal, and extremely WW points friendly, btw!), pot roast sandwich (get extra au jus), and the surprisingly good onion rings. Of course, you can't go wrong with their big ol' burgers! :) I'm a purist, so forgive me when I say I think their plain Jane vanilla frozen custard in a cup is the best, but they do also have an extensive list of frozen custard concoctions, of course. It may have been a limited time, or maybe seasonal, but if you like spicy and they have it, get the chipotle cheese curds. Wowzers! read more
