2nd dinner for us brought us here since the mall was closed. I know it's a little pricey but it's decent food that my 6 year old hasn't had yet. Figured it would be a step above McDonalds. I love five guys. Their burgers are always juicy and delicious. This location is fine. It's clean and the people are friendly, although it seems the people making the food are friendlier than the people taking the orders. Anyway I'm giving 5 guys 3 stars because of the price. Any sense of value has been gone for quite some time. 1 little cheeseburger 1 little hamburger and a large fries was almost $28 after tax, and the kiosk where you pay is asking for a tip. So tired of being asked to tip for fast food. Burgers were good. The fries didn't seem large and they were just enough. Like my daughter and I finished them. That's why I don't think they were large. Also they weren't hot. Normally you have to watch out that you don't burn your fingers. These weren't cold but they were not hot. When I got home I told my daughter this will have to be an annual Christmas tradition. Okay my daughter confirmed the fries in the cup were hot, but the fries in the bag were just warm. Doesn't matter though because the burgers are great it's just the whole experience is too expensive. I worry they will be in the same situation as TGIF and Red Lobster, bankrupt because people can't afford it. read more

Food was good and all but my wife found a hair in her burger so they definitely need hair Nets or something. I thought they'd comp the meal without having to cause a scene but all they offered was to cook the burger again also from the entire service they looked at me as if I were to lie or my wife lie about the hair. So here goes: The menu at Five Guys is very limited, (predominately burgers and hot dogs). The burgers aren't great, but not terrible either. My fries were under-cooked. Here is my public service announcement: If you order a hotdog with everything, be warned - IT WILL HAVE KETCHUP ON IT! That may fly in DC, but not Chicagoland. Great classic rock music the second I walked in and throughout my meal here. The atmosphere was designed like a classic diner with small black and white tiled floors and white walls. Plastered all over were different quotes of apprasial from different news and review outlets. All of it fit and looked great. Service was very quick and the cashier was a wonderful lady who seemed happy to take our orders. This is where i was really taken away. A normal size burger here at Five Guys is filled with two delicious patties and topped with whatever you want at NO extra charge! Thats right, all toppings for free! After finishing my incredible burger, i was able to dive into a very generous amount of thick-cut fries which really made my meal that much better. My Five Guys experience was a great one and i will definitely be returning here as often as i can! Ssssoooo I took my 40 minute drive to Gurnee Mills to catch some after xmas sales. Was starving afterwards from all of that shopping LOL! I wanted portillos at first. Then my sister was like what about five guys instead. I had never had five guys until TODAY! Yes. TODAY! She has eaten five guys before and said the burgers & fresh cut fries were FYE! This particular location was clean,the staff was professional & pleasant. I was impressed at the ease of ordering my food. Now on to the food: I MAXED my burger and could barely finish my fries. Five Guys falls a tad bit short of five stars. I come here a lot and though I forget to check-in quite frequently, I have noticed three things while I am here. 1. Food is always cooked fresh and burgers are always made the same way. 2. Burgers are about $5.00-$7.00 but after french fries and a soft drink, you are looking at about $12 for a meal per person. So, come prepared to pay a little more than you may expect. 3. You are looked at a lot by the staff when eating.. Yeah.. I know, how weird is that? But, it's true. Each time I am here, I find myself being looked at. No, scratch that; not looked at, starred at. I get that I am good looking and all but I don't think it's normal to be starring at something for as long as they do. Makes my eyes hurt just thinking about it. Other than the awkward starring contests, the food is great, the restaurant is always extremely clean and the atmosphere is always welcoming. I love Five Guys Burgers & Fries and I will definitely find myself coming back here every once in a while. It's expensive to eat here every day so until the value or prices improve and until the service steps up, I won't be back anymore frequently than once every month or two. !!! ALLERGY ALERT !!! I agree with a few of my fellow Yelpers who have given a two star status to 5 Guys. There menu is very limited. I personally don't care of the fries... even if they were smothered in cheese, I don't think they would be that great. The burgers are okay... or as the quote for a two star joint is, "Meha, I've expected better." Now, honestly, I've had worse, but there are many other places out there which serve up better burgers. The rolls they have are good and perhaps the best thing they have here is the selection of toppings. I've been to several 5-Guys, and in each the wait staff always did well and the food came out quickly. I went to five guys last night and I had the best service I have ever gotten. 3 lovely gentlemen named Emir, Abraham and Victor are excellent workers. After I have gotten my food Emir asked me and my party if we liked napkins or if we needed anything to let him know. All three of these guys were always were doing something productive which made the place look clean and organized. After all the followers recommendations and a few articles about what a great place Five Guys was, I ended up trying it our for myself. I'm now confused as to what the big deal is. I had the regular cheeseburger and the $2-something cup of fries. The cheeseburger was OK and I'd put it somewhere near the regular patties of Wendy's hamburgers and definitely a notch below Culver's. It was a little tasty and the quality seemed average. $5 for a cup of fries is absolutely insane! You can buy 10 pounds of potatoes for that. $7 for a hamburger and $5 for fries must cater to the crowd that enjoys $4 coffees. There's plenty of local places that make hamburgers better than these. read more

Overall, it's your basic burger joint. Pricing was decent, not cheap, about $11 for a burger and drink. Fries were the highlight, actually tasted like potatoes. The burger was a bit overdone for me. The buns didn't exactly handle the burger either. They started to fall apart about 3 bites in. The fountain machine was pretty sweet. once again they have the air conditioning turned down so its like walking into the meat locker. i asked why is it so cold, only to get "we need to have it this cold so the floor is not sticky". that is ridiculous. the first time in 3 months we can eat inside a restaurant and again you have the ac so low it keeps everyone outside. would not have been bad outside but the wind was blowing and its hard to hold onto all the paper goods so they're not blowing all over the place. plus he only garbage can you have is on the inside. so you have to put your mask back on to even throw away the garbage. do not have tables set up inside if you are going to freeze everyone out. this is the 4th time i have complained about the cold at this location. lock the thermostat so its set by corporate or franchisee and not by the employees. read more

The place is stocked with peanuts in every form. Entire 50 pound bags of roasted peanuts, pallets of peanut oil in gallon containers, peanut shells on the ground (before they're quickly swept up), scoops full of peanuts with little bags so you can munch on the little legumes while tossing the shells in the numerous garbage cans located throughout the dining area.
