Okay, this is a chain restaurant so if you've been in one Culver's, then you know what to expect. For the person who has not been to one, then please don't let my two star rating deter you from coming here. If you've never had a butter burger, and a frozen custard (basically ice cream), then you have to stop and give it a try, you'll like it. (assuming of course you like burgers and ice-cream.) The service here is good, the people are very friendly and the food comes out rather quickly and actually has a good presentation. So why the two stars? Well, the interior of this place is beat. The rug is well past worn, the furniture has certainly been well used and needs replacing. This location is in serious need of a remodel and get the newer interior look many locations have received in the past few years. My guess is, due to it's prime location by 70 and 57, this places is "always" busy, so it will be hard for them to schedule in the remodel. I do come here because the food and service is good, but in most cases it's via the drive through and I take it home to eat. read more

During a long drive from Chicago to Memphis I needed a car break and some food. After miles and miles of no options for food other than a McDonalds I saw a giant billboard advertising this location. Since I always enjoy Culvers I stopped here and it hit the spot. Same good food and service that I have found at all the other locations I've stopped at. read more

Great place to get a variety of "burgers." Ordered a pork tenderloin burger. Haven't seen this anywhere. It was delicious! Oh, the tenderloin was breaded and very tender! Be sure to add the fixings like a burger otherwise it comes nude. read more

Restaurant was fine, food came out quick. They were out of the dressing for one of their signature salads, No big deal. Main issue: Our family was sitting outside eating and a man came up and started spraying Round-Up weed killer around the outside dining area. Even continuing to move around and spray near my child who was sitting down on the ground. There's got to be a better time to do weed spraying outside of dining hours or while children aren't near. read more

Our food was cold , order wrong, cheese just thrown on burgers cold and not even melted! The place had food and paper all over the floor. Bathroom was dirty and the trash overflowing onto floor toilet paper almost empty. The drink bar and condiment bar was filthy! I will never eat there again! read more

Regional fast food is the best kind. The first time we stopped here was when we were traveling with a cat in the summer. We needed to eat at a place with outdoor tables so we could take her out of the hot car. Culver's? Sure, they've got ice cream. Oh, look, they have food! Since then it's been a regular stop on our road trips. They offer a variety of dishes beyond burgers, including some tasty vegetable sides. Originally started in Wisconsin, they're heavy on the dairy products- cheese curds! so much ice cream! As others have said, I don't know what it is about this one that is working so well, but the people working there are very friendly and helpful. read more

My husband ordered a chocolate shake at Culver's tonight. The shake looked more like semi chocolate milk and wasn't very cold. My husband asked the staff if this was what the shakes are supposed to be like and they said yes but seemed to be disinterested in making another one or offering any solution. I am in Effingham at least 4 times a week and usually stop at Culvers twice during those times. The other day I went through the drive thru. What a mess. They had cars everywhere waiting for orders and had to women running around trying to find who they went to. When I got my order and was headed down the highway, I opened the bag and got my sandwich out. To my surprise there was not a napkin in the bag. I only had tissues in the car to use. Then I started drinking my soda and there was no ice in it. I don't know what is happening there but this is the second time in a month their service has not the best. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat, during a cross country road trip. This Culver's location did not disappoint. Everything was spot on, food was great and customer service was excellent. You can tell that the owners take pride in their restaurant. P.s they play Christian music and country, if you have a problem with that then take your business elsewhere. I eat at the Effingham Culver's once in a while, when they mail out coupons, that makes them competitive in price with fast food restaurants. Their food is generally a bit better quality than other fast food restaurants. I usually get the fish (cod) sandwich, which is good. read more

One of the things that I don't like about Interstate travel is the small hillbilly hick towns you have to travel through. Many of these places lack diversity and their closest interaction with other cultures is either what they see on TV or a traveler passing through for gas, food or to use the restroom. A glowing example of such a town would be Effingham, IL. Went to this Culver's in Effingham in route to an out of town visit with family in Missouri. From the moment we walked in we got that feeling of being unwelcome. The cashier, Tiara, was TOTALLY, TOTOTALLY unpleasant and absolutely refused to say thank you, even after I said thank you 3 times. Little young racist girl has a lot to learn about life. I won't say not to frequent this place, but just know that you have other options when you hit that exit ramp. Anyone can make allegations, I'm backing mine with a copy of my receipt. read more

We just left a full parking lot and restaurant. Stopped here on a trip from St. Louis to Indiana. Culvers is my favorite, stopping there was a treat. Unfortunately it was the worst fast food experience that I could recall. The grease that day was rancid. Not exaggerating, it made one of my children physically ill and made the entire car smell like a dead body. That was from 3 orders of fries and chicken strips. We ended up throwing it all away (it's hard to eat after all of that) and the sick child did not eat again the rest of the day. $25 of food in the trash. It was that bad. We didn't go back to complain because we had made it a distance down the road and we were not interested in anything else from there. read more

Delicious Milk Shakes!

Locally owned with lots of smiles and fresh food. The prices here run a little more than your average fast food, but I would say they're well worth it. Generous portions and pretty fast service considering everything is made to order. This local company also donates to anything and everything within our community. Good people. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE worst Culvers I have ever been to, and I've visited 10 plus Culvers. Our order took forever to come to our table and by the time it arrived it was cold. I went to the counter and a big majority of the people working there were young and didn't know what they were doing or even how to help me fix my order. When the manager came up front she was nothing but rude. We were on the road and a trip to culvers shouldn't have lasted as long as we spent at this one!!! Stopped here on the way up north and had a great meal. The burgers were very good as were the fish and chips. Tried cheese curds for the first time and wanted more. We love going to Culver's our family had a desert there today, their food is great. I didn't hear Christian music playing today which was disappointing because that's what brings us there. Driving through and stopped for a quick bite to eat. Waited over 25 minutes for our food at a fast food restaurant. When we checked on the food we were told everyone was waiting. Tables were dirty as was the floor. First time we've had a bad Culver's experience. read more

Took 20 minutes to get our food for 2 people and they messed up one of the orders once we finally got our food. The sweet tea wasn't good either...tasted very weak and could barely taste the sugar. I was in Culvers recently to have ice cream with my 19 month old. He was having a temper tantrum, and I needed to leave. He was out of control, so it was best to leave so others could enjoy their meal. As I was trying to leave one of the managers came over to help, and bring candy for him. I told him it was best that we go. He told me I didn't need to, and he understood because he has children. He then helped me carry my things to he car for me! What a nice man, and wonderful customer service! Wish more places would be this nice to their patrons! read more
