The custard tastes good, but the portion is pretty anemic for the menu price of $3.39. I got 5.8 ounces of strawberry chocolate, which was the flavor of the day, which includes the weight of the plastic container. Not much value represented with this portion of custard. The staff didn't seem to be into their jobs tonight - I figure that may have been due to the long holiday weekend and them just being out of juice, but they didn't seem happy to be there tonight. There are better local options if you are trying to get bang for your buck. read more

I went to Culver's and ordered two meals, only to find that one of the burgers was missing when I got home. I called to alert them and they acknowledged their mistake and asked if I wanted to return for a replacement. I did (hangry) and they made a fresh mushroom Swiss burger that was missing upon my initial arrival. It would have been nice to have some other form of restitution as I had to make another trip to Culver's, but the food and service was outstanding and they were extremely apologetic. I ordered in the drive thru so I cannot comment on the ambiance of the restaurant, but in previous visits, it's always been great. I will definitely return in the future and will be sure to double check my order before leaving next time. read more

Open for drive-thru ONLY Butter burgers are the best of the fast-food offerings! Quick service (not a McDonald's), waiting in your car for the staff to bring your food out to your car-our server had pink plastic gloves, a mask, and a cap. PRETTY MUCH THE WORST FOOD EVER. We got drive-up food at 8:30 pm. Our burgers had obviously been sitting on a warmer for hours. The bun on my burger was totally soaked through with grease and all the elements were congealed together. My husband's sandwich was even worse. Not only was the bun packed with grease, but the edges of the melted cheese had been sitting under a heater so long that they had dried out and were crispy. The fries were obviously fresh, but everything else was closer to something pulled out of the trash than freshly made. This is the third time we've had a bad experience with this Culvers. I doubt we will ever go back. read more

I liked my first visit to one of these, so came back for another. This time to have some of the highly recommended custard. It was fine, but not great. To be fair, I don't know what "Great" custard would be either, but this was not it. However, this location is also nice, wifi works well inside, there is outside seating with umbrellas, it was all clean, employees are nice. Parking is easy. But then it seems to be easy all around here. read more

This is just an update to the already seven month old review: So I finally quit from that hell hole that they call Culver's and I put my two weeks in and my last day was January 29, 2019 a.k.a. during the Polar vortex, shocking right? Anyways you can imagine how happy I was. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then go read the review that I made about this place seven months ago, or whenever it was. But yeah I've never been so happy to quit from culvers after being underappreciated, never got credit for any work, no employee of the month no pay raise and no future promotion, well I guess the future promotion doesn't count anymore because I was going to quit anyways but down the road but yeah, I've never felt so humiliated to work for Emily Lindbeck who is the operational manager of this culvers along with two other culvers in Washington county minus Hastings. God, there was not a time where I felt like she was awesome. I only faked it so that way she wouldn't fire me. there's so many things that I disapproved of but couldn't say to Emily. So basically like whatever ideas she has everybody goes for it, good luck trying to change that LOL. Anyways the guy managers were fun, but then one of them quit who actually was the first boss and then his wife took over. I'm not gonna say any names for the bosses just for the sake of them, except Emily lindbeck the opertiaonal manager. But yeah the atmosphere was OK in there, at Culver's, same with the employees at least most of them, and the customer Fanbase was decent. Man don't even get me started on school nights during the fall and so-called car show nights during the summer. Man was it busy, but anyways back to the review. There was never a fun time when Emily was around. I'm not saying she's evil or anything, but she lacks the fact that I've been working hard and she never really sees it because she's blind (no she's not like blind blind like she can't see, I'm just saying she's blind for not noticing my work). The only people that have see my hard work other than the Customers, was most of the employees even though they failed to tell the managers. I don't want to keep going on so I will cut to the chase. Other than me moving, Emily L. is the sole reason why I quit culvers. Like I said I feel underappreciated never got recognized for my work except by the customers, and I just feel like I wasn't really welcomed over there because I know the employees at least half of them were faking being nice. Same with Emily. Long story short do not work at this location especially with Emily. Again she's not evil she's just the type of person that doesn't want to give a certain guy a.k.a. me employee of the month, or at least thank me for working hard because I've been working my fingers to the bone. Even the customers knew. But yeah as of January 29, 2019 I'm officially done with fast food and going to be looking for other meanings of work like maybe lumber or I don't know. So long culvers thanks for nothing. Screw you Craig cover screw you Emily Lindbeck And screw everybody else that ignored my work and never really saw how hard I worked. read more

If you're interested in a Mushroom Swiss Burger that melts in your mouth look no further than the Cottage Grove Culvers. The taste is amazing. The burgers drip, so watch your clothing, but I think the drip must add to the flavor. Saturday is normally a good time to go, but they are pretty fast on the service. read more

I know, I know, it's a chain.... But it's such a yummy, inviting, addictive and friendly chain, that I can't help loving it. Their burgers are good, their cheese curds are yum, their mashed potatoes are great and their "ice cream" (frozen custard) is incredible! Plus they let me order the kids meals and don't make me feel silly. I mean, who doesn't want a grilled cheese sandwich and a vanilla ice cream cone now and then? The restaurant is always super clean, the employees are always friendly, there are some TVs in the dining area for your entertainment, and there's even a fireplace for the winter months. (Or people like me who insist on eating frozen dairy even when they are already shivering.) Summer is the best, because you can eat outside AND because they have the Lemon Ice (with strawberries. Mmm. Or raspberries. Drool. Or blueberries....aaah....) read more

Culvers used to be a great value, but now the prices have gone up, and it's become very overpriced for what you get. As with many Cottage Grove businesses, a major problem is with the staff that works there. For some reason Cottage Grove Business' can't seem to find decent employees, and because of this i've experienced several wrong orders, or have been brought other people's meals. I decided to go back last night after not visiting the Cottage Grove Culver's for a while - it hasn't gotten any better. I will not be back for a while. read more

Pork cutlet sandwich with lettuce tomato mayo cheese and red onion is my go to. My son likes the butter burger and wife likes the cheese curds. It take a minute since they cook everything fresh to order. Never had a bad meal here. read more

We eat here every couple of months, and the food is really good - fresh and hot. The employees are very nice. Today we went through the drive thru, got home, and found a lot of mistakes with the order. It was really disappointing because it's kind of expensive for fast food, it's REALLY cold today, and it's just far enough away that going back to fix it would not really help. The kids weren't happy with the wrong drink, no sauce for the chicken (they have the BEST ranch!) my hamburger had no lettuce but added mustard ( I don't like mustard and you can't just take that off a burger) and they messed up a topping on a sundae. It's just a lot of mistakes in one order. I will be checking VERY carefully when we drive thru again. They generally aren't this careless. Thankfully we tried to find the humor in it and had ranch in the frig - though not the good Culvers ranch - the kids order chicken just because of that ranch dip! read more
