I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Strip 4 piece meal, which came with fries and a drink. I asked for the Blue Cheese dip to go with the strips. The buffalo strips were well-coated in hot sauce, and were hot and right out of the fryer. My wife said her burger was hot and right off the grill. The fries were hot, right out of the fryer. A few minutes after I started dipping, I thought I got ranch instead of Blue Cheese. No biggie, but the manager came out and offered to get me blue cheese - I declined, I'd already used the ranch and it worked fine. My wife went up for her sundae, and he offered her one for me because of the minor mix up. What is not to like? The restaurant was clean, the staff was attentive, and accountable.

With it being one of my favorite restaurants back in Chicago, it completed my search for a restaurant. I ended up ordering online via Uber Eats delivery being that I was comfortably settled in for the day, plus watching college football. Portillo's Champaign had a 4.4 rating out of (1,500+) which was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience. On the menu, I was interested in ordering either the Plant-based Garden Dog, or the Breaded Whitefish Sandwich. Out of both, I ended up choosing the Plant-based Garden Dog, which is highly a favorite of mine at Portillo's. Whether it be Grubhub or now Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Much praise to the Uber Eats delivery driver, Alexis, for arriving with my order in a reasonable time, as well as meeting me in front of the hotel as requested. While my eyes were peeled to the Georgia Bulldogs vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets college football game on television, my fingers were grabbing French Fries by the second to eat. A location away from the campus craziness but it still can get loud. It's close to a few hotels, so it's a great place for travelers. The menu has about what one should expect, with shit tons of beers and many of these are local as well. Got a few good ones. It's about $7 a pint. Best we had of these was the White Oak Brewery selection #CharmingAF. This was refreshing and smooth. It's about $12 for the cheapest burgers. We each got the Black Bean Burger, which comes with guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream but I left off the last one. Also gets a choice of a side, so okay value for it. I got it with a salad. A lot of other meaty options available. They have tacos and the Impossible meat is an option. For sure it pretty much seems like Applebee's or some generic polished sports bar and grill but it's okay to be honest. It's located on Neil Street to the south of the campus stuff. There's meaty things as well as options for vegans and vegetarians.
