The produce department felt a little smaller than what I've experienced in other Hannafords, and a few of the aisles seemed a little cramped for 2-way traffic. But other than that, if I lived locally, I'd certainly shop here. One thing that has me scratching my head related to some older, unofficial, travel-related websites which indicated that this was one of the 3 Hannafords in the state of Massachusetts which was allowed to sell liquor. That's certainly not the case now. So I don't know what the backstory is. Maybe they used to and dropped it, or maybe they were one of the stores to receive the option and never implemented it. In any case, if you do want to purchase liquor while you're here, go to the store across the street.

Walmart is Walmart! Almost 20 years ago I worked at this exact Walmart and they had just moved…read moreinto the area. They were this big superstore and everyone was so excited. Back then they prided themselves on the best prices, nicest staff, cleanest building etc. Over time and different regime changes you could see this place devolve. Since their recent changes where this has become a Super Walmart it has regained some of its past glory and seems to be cleaner than it has been in recent years. The staff is usually friendly and they have a lot of products in stock. Price wise the grocery department has something to be desired but they do have some things at better prices than their competitors. As for electronics they can beat most of their competition without fail. During Christmas this is still one of the places I plan to go/be for early hour super buys. This store is still average but looks to be moving g in the right direction.

I barely opened the door when the two women…read morebehind the counter, who were waiting on customers at the time, shouted over them and said "Yes, sir, can I help you?" I didn't realize they were talking to me at first, and then stopped and looked up to see not only them, but five other customers in the store staring at me. I replied, "No, I'm all set. Just gonna grab a few things," and started shopping. After two minutes, the younger of the two women at the counter joined me in the aisle and asked if I needed help again. What the heck? If she wants to be my personal shopper while I'm in the store, who am I to stop her?. So she took my list and led me around the store. They didn't have a few of the things on the list, one of which was yellow bean sauce, but she actually called her sister (must be a family-run store) to ask if she knew if they carried that product. They don't, unfortunately, but A+ for going above and beyond my customer service expectations. Yesterday's visit was such an awkward yet pleasant experience. I wanted to raise my rating to five stars, but they didn't have several of the goods I was looking for, so I'll leave it at four.
