Really enjoyed Cullman Christkindlmarkt. Everything was so pretty. People were smiling and enjoying the festivities. Would attend again. Make sure you wear your walking shoes!

The Cullman Christkindlmarkt is just like out of a Hallmark movie! There is all sorts of food, fun rides, carolers, and so many vendors! I came with my friend Julia over Christmas. We rode the ferris wheel which was super pretty, and I bought some bracelets from a vendor. It's such a fun time and definitely somewhere I want to go evert year now!

This was the second year we went to this Christmas market and it was twice as large than the last year. They had double the food options, so you didn't have to wait as long and a huge ferris wheel ride in the center that wasn't there last year. We brought our family while they were visiting from out of town. It was a lot of fun!

Annual Nov-Dec German festival. Nickname "Hallmark of Alabama" The food is amazing. The employees are nice. But the organization is a bit chaotic this year. I went on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. Everyone standing shoulder to shoulder. Kids love it. They added a tubing and Ferris wheel this year and the line was wrapped around. Hopefully they can have a better traffic control for the amount of people next year. Update: went back on a Monday. The place was very peaceful so definitely recommend it.

Loved all the authentic items. Went for the pretzels and left with some authentic handmade ornaments.

The food and concessions are good and the prices are reasonable. It was billed to me as a bluegrass music festival but as much or more the music is folk and Americana. It is family friendly. We arrived Friday afternoon around 5PM and there was hardly a space left to pitch a tent but a friend helped us find a good spot. Many I spoke with had been there for a few days and I was also told that you can get there even a week earlier to mark out a spot. Four showers and plenty of port-o-potties. It is 97% primitive camping. Being a music festival we heard from many talents among whom I enjoyed the Herb Trotman Band's bluegrass. I go for the bluegrass. I also enjoyed Todd Snider's one man performance with his humorous and witty lyrics, but as the night progressed he got just a little too political for my taste so I turned in a little early. Those camping around us could be heard picking, laughing, singing and having a wonderful time all night long. Saturday morning I must say I slept through the nature walk and morning yoga but I did walk about and filled my cup with the complementary coffee more than a few times. Saturday night featured a no show in form of Tony Rice Unit who had called in with sickness, but we were blessed with the scratch band the guys put together and though I can't quite remember the group name they came up with they won the crowd over. I hope they play instead of Tony next year. Dread Clampitt is a regular favorite each year at the Acoustic Cafe. I had only heard them once before at last years festival and I honestly did not care for them. I have to be honest, but I am so glad I gave them second listen. They seemed like a completely different band and I was absolutely blown away. Dread Clampitt, I can't wait until next year. Claire Lynch Band came up the rear as the final performance of the night and I turned in quite late with sounds of fiddles, banjos, and mandolins ringing in my ears. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in Haleyville, Alabama while attending the Acoustic Cafe 2013 and I look forward to returning next year. Oh and last but not least, there is a whole lot of hula hooping going on. Give it a chance and you'll might become a regular.

We drove up from Birmingham that…read moreevening and spent so many hours there walking around together and riding that tiny train once too. I was surprised the whole time bc it was not something I would think to care about except for taking my kids to when they little many years ago. However it was actually so enjoyable and neat to be at. It is filled with so many people clearly for a reason. I'd recommend anyone go to it even if they think it's not their type of thing. It is very cool for sure. Also, the last thing we did was hop on that little train( which I didn't care to do at all without little kids with me) yet it was a shocker how that man driving the train who shares about all things throughout the event that you get to see again from a different view on that train...he was super awesome. I actually would have ridden that train and listened to that man over and over and over again. He was fun to hear from. It is not super expensive so do not resist to do it. Gather up your group or just you and your spouse or for take your kids if they are still young. This is for sure a fun enjoyable thing to go see.

Updated review... Loooong lines!…read more Did I mention looooong lines?! Indeed, that is what you'll see and experience like we did today. So have a plan next year and be sure your phone is juiced up. We split up into different lines and updated each other when certain booths ran out of wings. Sadly, most did. And if you were one w patience, you waited until they eventually replenished them after some time. Some vendors didn't. :( That was frustrating especially when we've been waiting for some time under the hot sun (happened at least twice to us, more w others). So some of the vendors actually started giving out pieces of cheese pizza instead of wings. And if you were smart, you traded 8 stamps for a whole cheese pizza vs risking standing in long lines only to learn half way up that they ran out... again. Will we do it again next year? Hmmmm?!?! Donate to the cause - indeed! Wait in long lines under the hot sun for subpar wings and cold pizza - uhhh, maybe not. After a while, the wings all seemed to taste the same. But I'm guessing they're better served in their restaurants than how they were served today. But who am I to complain? Our tickets were significantly discounted. 8P Weather was nice, sunny and tolerable. Street parking was free ($5 in the nearby garage). Seeing friends, co-workers, familiar faces and benefiting a worthy cause was a plus too. :) We'll see about next year. ///Original review/// Right off the bat- Battle of the Buffalo is a benefit fundraiser held in honor of Paul Michael Salmon (aka Fish) who died of leukemia in March 1, 2007. The brothers at ATO (Alpha Tau Omega) of UAHuntsville started this annual event to benefit the local Russel Hill Cancer Foundation. What you'll find there are local restaurants grilling up their best chicken wings for y'alls to taste, a contest for you wing eating lovas, local musicians for entertainment, as well as fun activities and a kid zone for the small ones. The event is today - April 12th from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Big Spring Park located in Downtown Huntsville (514 Clinton Avenue West, Huntsville, AL 35801). Tickets can be bought online or at the event for $15 each. Packages available, too. Some local companies offered advanced ticket purchases at a significantly reduced price ($5/employee, $8/family member). Something to plan for next year, right?! Each ticket is worth 20 wings and 3 drink refills. So put away your boots and throw on your flip flops (and maybe a bib) and head on down to the park for some wings!
