They have festival in May for 3 days they also have a corn run and they have a big property where you can walk around and get to know the place. They have a lot of arrows, skin of animal for demonstration and even technology from back then like apple grinder and corn grinders. This place is absolutely free but they do accept donations. The service was amazing it was an older gentlemen. He would tell us amazing facts and history of the the Indians did back then. He also let us play instruments from back then. He let us touch their weapons and showed us how they were used. He was always on top of everything interacted a lot of my family especially my little sister of 8 years. This was splendid. I especially love how much they incorporate local natural features, live caves and all of the incredible natural diversity in the state. They really do a good job of going from local to global natural history. Also, they one of the largest collections of bird specimens, even including some extinct birds. And, we can't forget the Bird of Prey trail behind the museum with resident bird ambassadors! The Educational Interpreters work with the birds and do such a fantastic job presenting. I highly recommend the Creature Feature and Saturday Alive! programs - check out their website at exploreamag.org to see descriptions of all the live animal ambassadors. Lots of fun stuff for the kids both at the museum and all the extra programs offered!

As much as insensitive, out of touch people, politicians, or organizations may feel, being reminded of the atrocities committed by their fore parents, we as Americans of indigenous/african descent must endure the pain of oppression, injustice inflicted on our fore parents and threatened to repeat every day, it's a part of our reality politically and socially. They are so much fun and delve into all types of media and art history at the same time. My daughter just loves taking art there. They also have classes during the summer for various age groups as well. I wish they had some for adults. One of the art teachers there teaches out of her own studio on Bank Street, as well. She does pottery classes for adults. I'm sure she does other things as well. The ladies that run the arts center are friendly and personable and always remember our names. They are so sweet and so good at their jobs. They also have an informative website for the center.
