Absolute nightmare! Ive been paying for service for over a year. The device hasn't worked this whole time- I have called monthly, every time they tell me its working and it isn't. Finally they fixed it and it broke again shortly after. I have yet to actually enjoy soft water since I started paying for the program. They offered to wave my fee for the next 4 months, BUT INSTEAD they CHARGED me for 4 months EXTRA by mistake!!! All I got was a "woopsie, that person is on vacation. We can work on getting it reversed. sorry" That was 20 DAYS AGO- still has not been refunded for the inappropriate charge. I leave voicemails every day. We have been a customer of Culligan for years and within the last 6 months starting having trouble with scheduling to have our RO system serviced and now they have screwed up our bill. We have a monthly few deducted from our checking account and it wasn't deducted in August, contacted the company to find out why was informed by the person on the phone (who seriously needs to develop a personality) that it would start coming out on the 10th of the next month. After the conversation received a bill when i went to pay it I saw that Culligan had already deducted money from my account. Today I got another bill that stated that nothing had been paid. We are looking into finding another company. Culligan obviously doesn't care about their customers. A little email would have been nice to alert customers about the changes and maybe the folks working in the front office need to be inserviced on how to talk with customers on the phone and not be so indifferent. My husband stated that when he has gone to pick up salt that the staff been rude and disrespectful. read more

After 40 years of service with Crystal Water NOW Culligan I was floored that they changed the routes and delivery day and did not inform the customers that were due for delivery that there would not be a delivery in August and that it would not occur until September...out of water!! Terrible service. For months they are constantly late with deliveries, and this month (after 3 rescheduled delivery dates) they just didn't show up. No phone call, no notification, nothing. Called to inquire about the issues, the young lady on the phone was very indifferent. "Well, we're short staffed". You're so short staffed that you can't make a 60 second phone call? How much time are you spending playing on your phone throughout the day? I'm 100% sure that you're not so short staffed that you can't communicate with your customers. Culligan - Shame on you. As someone who works on WPAFB and keeps track of how much we actually owe Culligan in a spreadsheet, I have constantly caught incorrect charges. I'm talking about calling up one day, having it "corrected" and then calling up the next day to confirm - only to find the price is incorrect again, as if my phone conversation the day before never happened. Most of these mistakes have been $50+ overcharged. I've had to do this over 10 times now. All of your workers I've spoken to are very pleasant and polite - but wow, are they overworked. Particularly today, I could hear so many phones ringing while the employee was trying to solve my account problem. She even admitted that they've been without management for several months, and told me the invoice I just received today was incorrect, because they haven't been able to update the system. TREAT YOUR WORKERS BETTER. It's a shame to have such wonderful customer service, but such an outdated/confusing system that even your employees admit to not understanding. Do not buy equipment from Culligan, it's sucks and I would not recommend it. I have had nothing but issues with them since it was put in my house. The water filter kept eating batteries and they would replace the box. The water softener had continuous leaks and they tried to fix it multiple times. I paid over $6k both all this equipment and now taking it out of my house in less than 4 years. Customer Service has been good but equipment is junk!! read more

I had scheduled an appointment for service a week out and when I called the day before they had no idea that I even had an appointment for the next day. Pretty bad when it was one of there people that came to my house the week before to see what needed to be done and scheduled it right in front of me. I honestly cannot understand why Culligan doesn't pull the franchise from the grasp of this inept and underperforming collection of people who couldn't seem to care less about customer service. To add to my list of missed appointments and no-shows, I called last week to see if they could deliver or ship a whole house sediment filter for my system that they have been "supporting" for years. The indifferent person that I spoke with on the phone informed me that I would have to make the (50 minute) trip to their Wilmington Pike location to pick up in person. On Saturday, we made the trip in, only to find that they had no filters in stock! They weren't sure when they would have them, but assured me they would call me when they are back in inventory. Not only was this a wasted trip, but if you know anything at all about this bunch then you can bet for certain that I will not receive a call. If you are considering a water service for your well, I would strongly advise you to look anywhere but Culligan. The proprietary components can only be supplied by authorized dealers, and in the Dayton area you are stuck with the hellish experience of this outfit. read more

We thought Culligan would be easy and convenient. We were beyond wrong. We tolerated them just under six months. Horrible customer service and by horrible I mean rude. The bill is never right. They're supposed to give you automated calls to make sure you'll be home for delivery. We never got one. They delivered on the fifth of November and then again on the 30th. They charged us an extra 40 dollars that month. How is it our fault they make the delivery schedule. If you're thinking about trying Culligan think again. read more

I would avoid this company at all costs. They can't keep track of the delivery. They will promise a delivery on a day, they will even say the truck is on the way but not deliver. If you cancel your account, and you want your deposits back, do not expect the deposit back anytime soon if at all. Called customer service agents three different times in two weeks and they kept blowing me and my business off and told me I could bring my empty jugs to them and they would swap them out no problem. Culligan of Dayton is a horrible business that lacks basic customer service. They are friendly during the sale and installation and then they do not want anything to do with you. This is the second time I have had to call Culligan HQ to make a complaint to get them to fix my softener and iron filter. I strongly recommend you try any other company over Culligan of Dayton. My machines were not functioning so a technician came out. Both machines need a replacement part and there were none on the truck. I was told the office would call me when parts were in to schedule the repair but of course they didnt so I called them two weeks later. We scheduled the appointment and I was told I would get a call between 0830 and 0930 telling me when to expect them...of course no call. So I call them around noon and was told the technician was at the shop and would call me, of course, no phone call. So I then called Culligan corporate complaints department and received a call from local dayton stating technician showed up at my house but no one was home. How am I to know when to be at home if I do not get a courtesy call of when to expect them? Am I to take a full day of vacation time waiting for them? Absolutely not! This falls on the local Dayton OH general manager! A bad general manager typically results in a bad very low morale company. Extremely frustrated!! read more

Culligan purchased Nestle Ready Fresh after we had been customers for a year. We received a letter from Ready Fresh announcing the change and a price increase. We contacted Ready Fresh and canceled the service. Culligan delivered water the following month to our home when we were not there. We called and informed Culligan and they agreed to pick up the delivery. Instead, they delivered another order. We called and they came back and picked it all up but still charged us. Upon calling them again they said they could not refund our automatic credit card charges, so we called the bank card company and disputed the charges. Then, Culligan sent us a check for the full refund. So we called the bank card back to inform them that we were ok and to stop the dispute. The bank card company said that Culligan would need to answer the dispute. So we called Culligan and explained this to Carrie. Now 2 months later we get a bill from Culligan for $25. Carrie said we have to pay that because we disputed the charge and would not reverse the $25 EVEN THOUGH WE WERE NEVER A CUSTOMER OF CULLIGAN. The $25 is their charge for losing the dispute and because they sent a check to us before it was settled. I told Carrie we would not pay their fee for their mistake. This is why I cringe when a company wants to have your credit card number for future payments. With all the calls and time spent to fix their goof up, they should pay me - but I'm certainly not paying them. read more

I had called to inquiry about whole house system. They sent a rep that was from out of the area. Nice but, pushy. My space was very limited. She sent area install manager out to see if even possible. Wanted to run through attic space .... ( I have vaulted ceiling) tech then came out laughed and asked where he was suppose to stand ... insisted on leaving reverse osmosis. I did not allow him to install. Contacted rep to let her know I did not want partial system. She ran my credit sent docs to sign that I never signed. Equipment was picked up and yet I am still being billed!! I had to take off work to meet manager and tech. Calling office during working hours is difficult. I reached what I assume is an answering service after 5 pm and told three times my message would be relayed. High pressure sales. Bad customer service. Bad follow on invoicing. BEWARE ! They do not follow through with their promises. Customer service is HORRID, to say the least. Had been a customer for a few years even with the rude employees. All of a sudden my water was super salty. They sent a "technician" out who told me I needed a carbon filter????? Was supposed to pickup the unit within a week, never showed. Called the office again to get the unit removed - still no show. Now all of a sudden I have late fees etc., that they cannot adjust, and they informed me that they are going to send it to a collection agency if I don't pay ASAP ?????? read more

Our experience with Culligan has been disappointing since the schedule installation date in the beginning of November for our new water softener and carbon filter. When the installer showed up, we found out the size carbon filter that was ordered for our home was too large for the location. A new filter was ordered and scheduled to be installed the following week. When that installer came to our home, he did not have the proper tools with him to install the filter. He asked to use our tools, and asked for our assistance with installation. After about 2 hours, he decided he could not complete the job due to not having his own tools. By phone call the next day someone was scheduled to come the following week to complete the job, however, three days later the pipes they had placed for installation came apart, and water began spraying into our home. This was on a Saturday morning. Thankfully we were home and able to shut off the water to the house quickly. We immediately called Culligan and they asked us if we knew how to bypass the system. We do, however the issue was water spraying into our home and we needed this fixed immediately so we could get our water turned back on. Bypassing the system would not have stopped the water from spraying into our home. A few hours later a tech was sent to our house to repair the pipe and finish the installation of the carbon filter. He was very helpful and said he would talk to the sales person who sold us the softener and filter about getting us a discount for all the trouble we had. We waited a week and did not hear anything. No one even called to make sure everything was okay after the pipes broke. At that time we called the salesperson and he said he knew nothing of our trouble. He said he could ask his manager about a discount. He called a few days later and said they could either send us 8 bags of salt or give us one month of their maintenance plan, a value of approximately $40. After a month we called again as we had not received the salt we were offered for our troubles. The salesperson said they would send it to us. It is now another month later and we still have not received any salt, apologies or compensation for the install troubles and broken pipe in our home. We also chose to finance this purchase, and at the time we were told we would have 6 payments with no interest. The way the finance paperwork was submitted, we actually have to have this paid in 5 payments before interest kicks in. This increases our payment over $100 per month. When we contacted Culligan we were told there is nothing they can do. We contacted the finance company who told us Culligan would have to make any changes. Now we have a larger payment than we initially planned when making this purchase. Overall, we have been very disappointed with the customer service provided by Culligan. It is very disappointing as we trusted this company to come into our home and provide a service for many years to come. read more

We asked for our Nov 5 delivery to be rescheduled. They rescheduled for Nov 7 and no-showed. When called they said Nov 8. On Nov 8 they no-showed. I called on Nov 11 and they promised to deliver on Nov 13 and then no-showed again. I finally reached the office manager who stated "we've got trucks breaking down and drivers calling in sick". She promised to deliver on Nov 21 and on Nov 21 guess what: no-show again. This outfit has serious problems. read more

Culligan is probably the least reliable company to purchase a Reverse Osmosis System from. I purchased their system in November of 2018. I was told that 3 of the filters (Sediment, Activate Charcoal and small filter) were good for one year and that the Reverse Osmosis filter would be good for 5 years. So, I picked up the one year old filters in September 2019, (less than one year) . I changed out the old filters and used the system for 5 months when the system stopped working. (no water flow) I called for service. They came out and told me the "5 Year" filter was clogged and no good. (This 5 year filter lasted all of 18 months) Now tells me I need to buy a new one for $120., plus the $148 service call... ($268.00 plus tax) THIS SERVICE CALL LASTED 13 MINUTES!!! I asked the service rep. if he could also change out the faucet for the RO system that was leaking. He told me he doesn't have the time. Remember...just for the 13 minute service call to solve whatever problems I had cost $148!!! AND HE DOESN'T HAVE TIME!!! REALLY??? So now to get the faucet replaced it will be an additional $148 +. The most painful and upsetting part of this is that I paid $1,200.00 for this cheap ass system. Never use them again. When the next filters fail, I will purchase a reliable system, from another dealer/manufacturer and junk this P.O.S. Before purchasing this RO system, I had used Culligan for 20 + years for my Water Softener at my previous home. Won't do that again either. read more
