Just ordered the Ultimate Comfort Bamboo Mattress Pad through their website. I was looking for a pad with some thickness to act as a "slight pillow-top" feel to my new king size mattress. It arrived early and we slept on it last night! It is amazing. Perfect fit. The sheets did not crumple up. Great thickness - exactly what I hoped for. I NEVER EVER went on their site or ordered anything from Cuddledown, but was charged big bucks for a pillow. Unless a goose plucks its own bottom and stuffs that pillow itself, then flies it to my house lovingly placing a gold plated pillow on my bed, I'd never buy a $403.00 pillow!!! I tracked down the website and called customer service, they told me I would have to speak to a manager, but none were available. If the customer service is open, then managers are supposed to be available, period. I demanded the charge be removed (and yes, I was fairly irate), needless to say the representative hung up on me. I sent an email and waited a few days, but only got an automated response, however, no reply. I don't play games, I contacted my credit card company and they immediately reversed the charge. I reported them to the FTC and state attorney general, TWO WEEKS LATER (11/03/16) a manager named Nancy called me. She left a message that I supposedly have two charges to my credit card for $53.49 and $3.49. This is impossible as the previous account was closed two weeks ago to prevent any further fraudulent charges. My guess, customer service never really investigated my complaint and are now stuck with unpaid orders. Had Cuddledown worked with me from the beginning this could have been worked out and maybe figure where the fraudulent charges stemmed from. read more

I could not agree with the trending nature of these remarks that Cuddledown has lost its cuddle. I've been a longtime fan of Cuddledown, ordering high quality items from them for years. But in the last year, the company has hit the skids. Orders are late; items are back-ordered forever. Fulfillment and shipping is slow. Customer service does NOT respond. I tried once more (early this week) only to find the same situation...unidentified back order, one part of an order 'no longer available" (just what do I do with one flat sheet?), I've cancelled their emails and moving on. read more

I was charged outrageous shipping charges for a partial order which I CANCELLED. One part arrived, the other larger part did not arrive. The first person said there would be no shipping charges for the return (because I didn't take the whole order of matching items). BUT the second person and their supervisor told me I had to pay a $9.50 return fee plus another $16.00 dollars for 2 std. pillowcases if I returned them. If I could give Cuddledown a minus score I'd do that. One star is too much for them. I bought some sheets and a duvet cover for a very hefty price. They weren't what I'd hoped for so I returned them. No return label was included. I paid about $75 in return postage after having been told by one of their phone reps that I would be reimbursed. Several weeks have passed and I have not been reimbursed for either the postage or the $1030 dollars in merchandise.I was told that it takes 4-6 weeks to process returns. That time has come and my money and postage still have not been returned. You can't email them. I've called several times and all I get is nothing. I may have to sue them to get my $1100 back. This is a follow up to my previous review. Since my last entry the company has done nothing to help me except to give false promises and mis information. I was asked on the yelp site to contact Debbie...left message...no response. In the meantime I was told that my order was sent the day after I placed it!!!...not true...never came. then I was told on two different occasions someone would call me, first Susan, the Karen, never happened! today I learned that the order was shipped either to Cape Cod, where I am NOT living now and/or to Maryland. WHAT!!! I don't know anyone in MD!!! I asked them to sent my order to florida, back in October when I was surprised to hear the item was on back order to make sure the item didn't go to my summer home. I learned that their initial service center is in the Philippines and if you have the misfortune to call them you will wait, wait, and then speak to someone whose communication skills are very poor. Why can't this company that boasts about making things in the country hire US citizens who need jobs. Shame shame on them. The profits come first and the customer comes last. I called my credit card co. to block any charges related to this purchase because I don't know what the hell they will do next. Bought a pillow that would target my injured shoulder and ease the pain so I can sleep better. I am happy with the pillow. My issue with this company is the VIP membership that I did NOT sign up for. They automatically sign you up unless you opt out according to an employee. They are supposed to refund my 14.95 and remove me from the VIP status. I have a problem doing business with a company with deceptive practices. With today's competition, etc... customers want a company that practice with integrity. The worse mail order service EVER! Order fulfillment took forever and was incorrect when it finally arrived. When the recipients called customer service to correct the order this was the response "I just got off the phone with Cuddledown, wow- are they archaic in how they run things!!! I asked for a return shipping label, so I may return what they sent wrong. They send it via snail mail.....not able to email it. THEN when I ship it back they take 4 weeks to make the exchange, and they do not take care of it with a store credit. They return your credit card for the amount and then recharge it. I have bought sheets and pillows over the past couple of years. The products have been decent, if pricey. When it came to purchasing pillows, problems developed and the shockingly awful customer service has totally soured my experience. The staff is either incompetent (unable to explain the difference between different types of products, or even knowing about what they sell), or clearly don't care about customer problems and just pass the buck. Returned products have not been refunded for several weeks (to the tune of $430); nor have replacement products been shipped claiming my credit card does not accept the charge (untrue). It has been an unusually frustrating experience lasting weeks and ongoing. It is clear the staff are not treated in such a way as to care. The whole experience feels crooked and shady. Stay away form this company if there is a chance you may develop problems with what they sell. Very disappointed with my first order from Cuddledown. I have always enjoyed receiving their catalogues, but ordering from them has been a big disappointment. I ordered one silk blanket in the ivory color - when it arrived, the color was very different from how it appeared online. I called to speak with someone about it and he said that they had been having problems getting the "ivory" color to come out correctly - it was appearing more green. My daughters room is pink, so he recommended I order 2 other pink blankets to see if those would work. Shipping takes forever, and when the package did arrive, there was only one pink blanket in there. Not only was it more lilac in color (and therefore needing to be returned as well), but the invoice said the second pink blanket I had ordered was on Backorder. The website, nor the customer service representative, stated this. I waited...and waited...and when I never received the blanket, I called to ask the status. The lady then told me that it is not in the warehouse (and could not give me an estimated date that it would be there), so she would see if one of the retail stores carried it. I get an email the next day saying that she found one, but that it was "spoken for". ?? I replied stating I have ordered the blanket on my credit card a month prior, so I am not sure how someone else could have "spoken for" the blanket. I never got a response. Stay away from Cuddledown! The VIP program works like a scam. It is attractively packaged as a discount program giving 10% off purchases, but the fine print says you have to pay $14.95 a month whether you make purchases or not. You'll never get a full 10% off because of the monthly fee and unless you spend $150 p month you won't break even. When you go to cancel they'll refund only 2 months of fee. We have been customers for more than 20 years but this one really frosted us. In fact we were not even aware we had enrolled in it until the recurring charge kept showing up on our credit card. No more Cuddledown for us. Save yourself the grief. Stay away. read more

SCAMSTERS. Watch out. Cuddledown seems to have become some kind of front. I had bought many, many products in the past without incident. But it seems one is now dealing with a completely different company (as others have noted). The Cuddledown website contains "Resource Guides" that parrot (partly inaccurately but otherwise usefully) standard information about bedding fabrics. However, neither their online product information, nor their INCREDIBLY RUDE, DISCONNECTED phone reps know *anything* about this very, very basic information. I called Cuddledown *customer service* with some simple questions about products. I was prepared to spend thousands of dollars. To the phone rep, I made a reference to very basic fabric info that was included on the web site, info that anyone working for a bedding store should know. The rep defiantly parroted my statement and said in an exasperated way, "I have no idea what that is." Remarkably, she (Cuddledown Customer Service!) then said, "I have to connect you with a Customer Service Rep if you have questions like that." (Bad me! Bad, bad customer! To actually EXPECT TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!) When the "real" CS Rep finally came on the line, and I repeated my BASIC question, she said--I kid you not--"Is this question about Cuddledown?" To top it all off, I see we have a "Cuddle Down Social Media" "response" presence on Yelp that is equally disconnected. Beware! Beware! Cuddledown's so-called VIP program which has left me out over $100 for no benefit whatsoever. I lost the receipt but was assured by the first customer service representative I spoke to that it would be okay and I could still get credit for my very expensive purchase or possibly even a refund for the program since I received no benefits from it, only a substantial financial loss. I had been a customer of Cuddledown for well over a decade and always bought my sheets from them. Unfortunately, it turns out there is a ninety day restriction that the customer service person didn't make clear to me. There is nothing VIP about this program - Customer service on the program was terrible and the subsequent customer service people I talked to couldn't care less that I had received inconsistent information. Unlike other companies, you get nothing from Cuddledown for being a good customer. This program is basically a money making scheme for Cuddledown. I regret so much that I was talked into it. I've now canceled my Cudddledown catalogues and will look for a new source for my sheets - the only satisfaction I can take in the situation is that long term Cuddledown has lost much more money from future sales from me than I am out, read more

Wow! Apparently they don't want my $1000 order. I placed an order online a week ago today. I was prompted by the system that there was an issue with my credit card (address) but was given the option to proceed anyway - which I did, thinking I would simply call and clear up any issue. This has happened to me before with another company - the system transposes my address and puts my condo unit number ahead of my address - it's annoying, but easily fixed - usually. Anyway, I called directly after placing the order, got the "overflow line", and was told I would need to call back to speak with an actual rep. So I called again on Monday morning, spoke with a Cuddledown rep, confirmed my billing and shipping addresses (they are different). I was told that there was still an issue but that they have no idea what the issue was, and told me that a manager would need to call me and would do so within 48 hours. So I waited - NO call. So I check my credit card yesterday and see that there is a pending charge that is on my account from Cuddledown since I placed the order online Friday. I call the credit card company to verify there is no issue from the card side - there is not. Capital One states that the merchant needs only to push the charge through and Capital One will process. So this morning I call Cuddledown once AGAIN. And once again verify that all of my card information, name and billing address is correct - same name for 40+ years - same address for 2 1/2 years. I was told that they still did not know what the issue is but that their system is flagging it as an issue and they can't process. I waited for any suggestions, but none came. I asked what we could do to correct the issue - Can you put it through manually? Can we contact the credit card company on a 3 way call to verity the address and the charge is ok to put through? Can I have Capital One contact them in reference to the order? I was told no on all counts. OK - so no solution - REALLY??? So many issues here - not sure which is worse. Pretty much if I didn't continue to call (4 calls and 2 emails) to resolve and/or cancel my order it would have just sat there pending on my credit card and no one on Cuddledown's side will do any thing to resolve the issue? WOW. I'm actually glad it didn't work out. Because a company that can't be bothered to reach out and respond to customer inquiries and issues, doesn't deserve my business. It's sad, because I've really been trying to support Made in USA company's. There are 10'0s of options for buying a down comforter. Guess I will be purchasing with them. Oh yeah - best is.... that pending charge on my credit card - it will take 3-5 business days for that to come off of my account - You know, the account that they can verify. Pathetic. read more

Each time I call there is a different story or promise and no one knows what each customer rep or manager has said they would do. It's been the most miserable experience I have ever had with a company. Spoke with managers and endless customer service people and not one of them is capable of helping thus far. I don't know what's worse- the quality of their products or their customer service. DO NOT buy from this company. They actually deserve a zero star rating, but reviews cannot be saved unless they have one. I ordered two synthetic fill comforters and they were the lowest quality blankets I have ever seen in my entire life. I wouldn't have minded if they were bargain prices, but they cost $278.00!! Even though I returned them, $18.00 will be deducted from my account for return shipping. I have never posted an online review about any other company before, but I am trying to post on as many review sites as I can to spare other people the hassle of wasting their money at Cuddledown. Also, they only allow positive reviews on their site. The only "negative" reviews they post are ones that review their comforters as "too warm."
