After an 18-hour round trip move (and catastrophic experience with UHaul), Patricia was so kind to me. She patiently told me where to pull into the loading dock, stayed to make sure my access code worked, and showed me to my unit. She stayed from the remainder of the 45 minutes it took us to unload and reassured me that everything would be okay. Moving is a deeply difficult experience in the best of times, but Patricia took so much care to help me through this process. If I could give more stars I would! The entire facility is clean, well-lit, climate-controlled, and secure.

Remember, as a general rule, storage rental facilities are largely unregulated which means they can raise your rent with 30 days notice to pretty much any amount they want and they know they have you on the hook because you won't want to relocate your stuff. If you get a quoted price online, lock it in for six month or a year by pre-paying if you can. ALSO remember - you can get your own rental unit insurance from any number of companies for half what the rental unit companies will charge you and bring in proof of insurance at the time you rent (but you MUST do it in person). ALSO ALSO remember - you can also bring your own secure lock and not pay $20 for one of their locks. Do all of the above and any smart reasonable manager or employee is going to make your rental process smooth and painless.

My monthly due date is the 8th. Like many Americans, money is tight and I knew that I would be paying a $20 late fee - but that I also had a 5 day grace period. I started receiving phone calls on May 11 from personnel in this location telling me that I needed to pay my bill. The next phone call was on the 13th and I spoke with the representative and told her I was aware that my payment was late. All total - I received 8 phone calls and six text messages regarding my account. It was worse than a collection agency. Because I've never been this late before (groceries, gas, medication VS. paying storage who wins?) I did not know that an additional $20 was assessed four days after the first assessed penalty. I have rented from this location for over 7 years starting when it used to be Metro. I had a testy exchange with George on Saturday, who implied that I was trying to skip out on my bill and that they deal with this all the time. He also said he'd "try" to pass my concerns along to the area manager, but he's not in control of her schedule and hopefully she'd get back to me sometime this week. I was outraged and called the corporate customer service number and explained my offense. The area manager finally called me today and it was - again - an abysmal, defensive conversation. I learned that $40 is part of the "late" fees and accepted that; however, my complaint was that I was being harassed and maltreated as a longtime customer and that the texts and emails are excessive. She proceeded to interject and said she'd let me talk and now it was her turn and that because I keep interrupting her she can't help me. She essentially defended the actions of the Limerick staff and never once treated my concerns as valid. It's not about the money anymore - it's about the professional disrespect that she is green lighting. DO NOT RENT UNITS FROM COMPASS. THE LIMERICK LOCATION IS THE WORST AND SO IS THE AREA MANAGER. I cannot WAIT to get my things and leave after spending thousands of dollars over several years. The price hikes are also so out of control that it borders on extortion.

I came across Delete My Trash, as it was running a Living Social promotion. As is typical of the…read moresite, I was lured in with a discounted rate if purchased in the next ten minutes, I have some trash that I need to get rid of so I purchased it at this discounted rate. The instructions said to contact David via email to make arrangements to redeem the voucher. So I sent David an email (David@deletemytrash.com) on January 7, 2016 inquiring if they had weekend hours and informing them that I wanted to setup an appointment. I never received a response so I waiting about nine days and then sent a second email to info@deletemytrash.com on January 16, 2016 and again awaited a reply, but still nothing. The third time I tried to make contact, I called the company directly via the number on their site, 1.888.477.4368, and spoke with David who simply directly me to set up an appointment at the company's website. I went back to the website and set up an appointment for the following Saturday between the hours of 12 - 2pm. I received an email confirmation from the website shortly after booking although I never received a call or personalized email confirmation but thought that the standard form email would suffice. On Saturday January 30, 2016, I spent the day at home waiting for David and company to show up but 2pm came and went without their arrival or so much as a call to explain their failure to appear. Two calls were made; the first at 2:15pm, the second at 2:45pm, both of which range at least ten times before going unanswered. I left a voicemail both times. Finally, around 3:20pm I received a return call from David, and was told that they weren't going to be able to come out today as they had a big job or something. I didn't catch the particulars but got the general gist that they were blowing me off for another, seemingly, more profitable job. He wanted to reschedule for the following weekend and said that he would honor the voucher even though it would expire by that point. A small gesture considering the considerable effort I already expended to simply receive services that I had already paid for. I conveyed that I had planned my day around this and expected it to be done. During our conversation he seemed to be cognizant of the fact that I was inconvenienced, David asked what could be done to rectify the situation. I requested that he double the amount of trash that they were due to take, to which he refused. My next request was to bump up the amount of trash to the next level, again he rejected my request. I then asked what he could do to compensate me for wasting my time, I was told that he "can honor the voucher". A laughable response because if he intended to honor the voucher he would have responded to my emails and would have shown up at the scheduled time. Services were legitimately purchased from this company and they were unable to deliver, severely inconveniencing me in the process. Additionally, David was unprofessional, unaccommodating, and provided poor customer service. But this was representative of the entire process starting with being ignored in my initial attempts to schedule an appointment. There are plenty of other companies out there that will gladly take your money and deliver services, save yourself the time avoid Delete My Trash and seek out one of those other companies.
