I needed help moving some stuff from my house to my office in Ann Arbor, and Two Men and a Truck…read morecame through with flying colors. They responded to my request quickly and were flexible with accommodating my schedule. (There was some discussion with the main office about how late the move would go and whether it might keep the crew out past 5 PM, which tells me that they're looking out for their employees--which is important to me.) The crew actually contacted me on the day of the move and asked if they could come 30 minutes *early*--virtually unheard of in any of my previous moves. They got it all done in less than the quoted time, and the guys were friendly and professional despite the fact that it was raining out and therefore not the most pleasant conditions. I also got a call from the main office the day after following up on the move and asking for my feedback. This was a relatively simple gig as moves go (20 some odd small boxes of books halfway across town), but Two Men and a Truck proved themselves capable, efficient, and responsive. I would definitely call them back for a bigger move in the future, and would recommend them to other folks looking for a moving company in the area.

They did know ahead of time exactly what they were moving. The more distressing thing is the condition of furniture that was put in storage. They did not plastic or blanket wrap antique wood furniture, or box lamp shades, so that we have several badly scratched table tops and a broken Tiffany glass lamp shade. They didn't even think to cover the floors moving furniture in and out in the middle of winter when they were going through slush to get to the trucks, and when I covered the entrance they kicked the covering aside and walked on the floor anyway. These guys are young, friendly and do their best, but they are not professionals, and not even trained to move things correctly.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. We hired Corrigan to move us from San Diego, CA to Michigan. When…read morewe signed our contract, we were not notified of the possibility of our shipment being split into two. Half of our belongings arrived in Michigan on time, and it took an additional week and a half for the rest of our belongings to arrive. At one point we were told, " We don't know when the rest of your belongings will be shipped, it hasn't left CA yet". This was pretty inconvenient for us, as we had to ask family to be present with us to accept our shipments, arrange for dog care on both arrival days, not to mention live in our new home for a few weeks with only half of our belongings/furnishings. Management told us we would be able to discuss compensation for these inconveniences, as we were told this is an unusual occurrence. We have corresponded with management back and forth many times, it has been a huge ongoing headache and now they are completely ignoring our messages and not responding. It has been over 3 months since our move. We never received any compensation for these inconveniences. Prior to the move, our belongings were evaluated by video-call for estimated cost of moving, we showed the video surveyor all of our belongings, in all closets, cabinets, garage etc. On the day the movers came to pack, they were nice, friendly and hard working, efficient, yet they kept complaining that we had "a lot more" than they were expecting to have to pack. This made us pretty uncomfortable. It was a 1-bedroom condo, we're not talking a 5 bedroom house here. Also, Corrigan damaged an item of ours during the move, as well as completely lost two shipping boxes of our belongings. Not only this, but the first delivery truck was an hour late from our predetermined scheduled delivery time, the truck arrived and got caught in a tree in our front yard, pulling a giant branch down. Our very nice neighbor lent the delivery drivers their electric saw to dismantle this giant branch, which took another hour. Then the delivery drivers said "I think we'll be done unloading by 1pm". They were at our home from 10am until 8pm!!! This was only the first delivery with half of our belongings , mind you. The delivery drivers were nice and courteous, took attention to detail with our inventory, yet were not very efficient. The second delivery team was efficient and courteous , yet did not take much attention to inventory. We were minimally compensated for our broken and lost items, yet the lost items were never recovered. Our experience with Corrigan was frustrating, stressful and we would not recommend this company to others.

Tommy and Jaxon did an…read moreexcellent job moving my mother in law from her 3 bedroom ranch in Shelby Township to the lower level of our condo in Brighton. Despite the 95 degree heat these guys showed up on time. They walked the job first to see what they had to move which in our case was about 40 boxes and bags and about 15 pieces of furniture. They then proceeded to put down runners and shrink wrap the furniture items followed by picking up the heavy boxes and loading their truck. The total job only took them a total of 5.75 hours which included the 2.5 hour round trip drive. The final price was very reasonable since they charge by the hour. Again, this was in exhausting unbearable heat. They even moved a recliner from our first floor to the lower level at our request. These young guys were congenial and very helpful. We would definitely use them again if necessary. They are top notch. We highly recommend them if you have a move in your future.

WARNING: A 38-Mile Move Became a Lawsuit After I Paid the Maximum Quote…read more I strongly recommend that prospective customers understand my experience before hiring Extra Mile Moving. My written estimate for this move was $3,115-$4,075. I paid $4,075--the **maximum estimated amount**. Extra Mile/Moving Forward ultimately billed the move at $8,655.50 and is now suing me for another $4,580.50, plus attorney fees, costs and interest. This was a roughly 38-mile residential move. Extra Mile/Moving Forward had an opportunity to walk through the property before the move and see what was being moved. I also advised them that I had a large number of boxes. When the first truck arrived, I immediately expressed concern that it was too small. The move ultimately required additional truck capacity, additional time and associated charges that I dispute. A substantial portion of my possessions was unloaded into my garage. What I was initially told would be temporary storage became a garage packed with household property, leaving it inaccessible to me. I live alone. As I have gradually been able to unpack and access those belongings, I have continued to discover damaged and missing property. More than $1,500 worth of readily identifiable belongings was left behind at the Brighton property. Containers holding clothing and other belongings were damaged or opened, leaving approximately $1,000 worth of clothing, handbags and shoes on the garage floor. I have also discovered additional damaged property and substantial missing property, including numerous family portraits, many of them originals and irreplaceable. I have photographs documenting the condition of the garage and belongings, as well as photographs showing many of the now-missing family portraits in my former home. Because litigation is pending, I am deliberately limiting this review to facts I can document and my own experience and opinions. Extra Mile/Moving Forward disputes my position, and the court has not yet determined the merits of either side's claims. What I believe prospective customers should know is this: I paid the maximum amount of the original estimate. I disputed thousands of dollars in additional charges. I am documenting damaged, missing and left-behind property. And instead of this ending as a customer-service dispute, I was sued for another $4,580.50 plus attorney fees, costs and interest. Had I known this was a possible outcome of hiring this company for my move, I would have chosen another mover.
