It's located across from Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, in the 999 plaza next door. There's plenty of parking which is always a plus. As soon as you walk up to the entrance you'll see a sign for Odyssey. We came 15 minutes before our reservation time. During this time they just want to review the safety guidelines with you before they taken you into the room for your game. We did the "Towering Inferno" and unfortunately did not make it out alive. The rooms are clean and the staff are all friendly. I don't have other places to compare to but in my opinion I can say this place is low key in technology. When we first entered the room, a staff member gives you the plot by reciting the story. I guess I wanted a more dramatic storyteller but it felt like a low key lecture I guess? 2 people can definitely solve it but it would've been better if we had at least 3 or 4 people. For this challenge, I would say about half of it is solved on computers. The other half are lock combinations. At the end we were told the last bits of info of how we could have finished and escaped. They will take a picture for you inside the room at the end and also offer a group picture with signs in front of their Odyssey sign in the main lobby. I felt like this was a pretty good experience. Again, the space is clean and I am interested in coming back to try their other escape rooms. Don't try to walk-in, make sure to make a reservation on their site! Google for a discount code before you reserve a room. I also saw people mention something on Groupon for deals.

We've done all six of the escape rooms at this location, and a few of them at their Gurnee location…read morealso. We've also done bunches of escape rooms from other companies while on vacation or in other towns. The overall quality and craftsmanship of 60 to Escape is second to none. Every room is quite immersive, and you don't get the feeling that they just slapped together a bunch of decorations on a standard room and called it an escape room (like some other companies do). For this location, Lockbuster Video and Mystery Manor are the best rooms (in my opinion). Loads of fun, great surprises. Challenging yet doable puzzles. Wide variety of puzzle types. Kids loved it. Parents loved it. I really should include Magic Heist in the top tier also, but, Lockbuster and Mystery are just so wonderful that I feel that they deserve a class of their own. But, yes, Magic is right up there with them. It's almost a 3-way tie for first place. Cheesie's Pizza Party is really enjoyable also. It deserves 5 stars too. But, I was so blown away by Lockbuster and Mystery that I just feel obligated not to put Cheesie in the same category, despite that Cheesie is quite wonderful. Jurassic Outpost and Arctic Expedition are better than a lot of the competition I've seen, but, I just can't put them in the same category as the ones above. I don't feel like downgrading my rating of this place to only 4 stars because of these two rooms. That would be maybe too aggressive on my part, because these two rooms have all of the polish and workmanship that the others do, and are way better than lots of other places I've been. But, the puzzles in these two rooms are a bit on the monotonous side. Too many of the same theme of solving numeric things or codes over and over and over. They're not in the same league as Lockbuster or Mystery with the variety of puzzle types and adventure. If this place only had these two rooms, yeah, I'd downgrade the rating to 4 stars. But, I can't bring myself to lessen my rating of the really great rooms because two of them aren't quite as great. When I first saw this place in Woodfield, I figured it would go out of business in two months. Then, we tried it. No regrets. I hope this place is around for decades, and continues to upgrade the experiences.

Overall we had plenty of fun with the puzzles but the reason I gave it 4 stars was because our room had a window wall and a creepy man walked up and started staring at us, he went away in about 2 minutes but it was definitely scary. This was a great experience though and I would recommend coming for a difficult but fun room.

Out of maybe the 5 or 6 different places I've been to for an escape the room (some out of state, some around the area), this was my favorite one. With only 3 reviews seen on Yelp, I was a little hesitant to choose this place over so many others in the area. Groupon gave us a good price, so we went with this, and I'm glad we did. We did the "my crazy ex" room, which was great, and I hope to be back for the high school reunion, which the owner said had some scary features added to it. He said he used to work with haunted houses too, so I'm pretty interested in seeing what that one is like. It is similar to other escape the rooms where you find clues and input it in the locks to unlock the various locks in the room, but this was was so techy that they used other creative tactics to unlock boxes, drawers, etc. To be honest, I at first thought it was a little lame because I thought the person watching us just opened things with a press of a button when we did different actions, but I asked later on, and he showed us how different things worked. Hard to describe without giving spoilers of the room, but I'd have to say I was seriously mind blown about how creative things were and how fancy the technology was here. I loved this factor added into it. They have a 10 minute game that's only $5 a person on certain hours of weekdays, so we will most likely be back for this too! I definitely was hesitant at first to come here due to a few things (barely any Yelp reviews, homemade looking winner/loser signs/a few things that made it not look as professional or techy (the Hotmail email address :D....sorry, break escape for throwing you under here), but after experiencing their room, I'd really have to say there is a mastermind here who made these and put these rooms together. Not sure how this place only got 3 reviews, but I'd highly recommend coming here and I'll be back for sure! Thanks break escape!
