We used Elite to pick us up from PDX when we returned to the US from Mexico after six years outside…read morethe country. Everything we own packed was into seven suitcases, and so we needed help to get from the airport to our hotel in Salem. The choice was an Uber, which would not have worked for our situation, or a luxury car service. Hewar was wonderful from when I first called him to arrange our trip. He was attentive and patient, even when I called him multiple times with questions. The manager, Rasheem, met us at baggage claim. Our driver, Zhieco, was professional and friendly. He helped us get our (very heavy) luggage into the hotel. On the other hand, the company I called first did not give me a chance to explain why we needed help at baggage claim. As soon as he heard that, he immediately said he couldn't help me. He threatened to post my phone number online when I wrote him a one-star review. I was shocked. I would've taken it down, regardless, because I don't post bad reviews. So, I was especially glad to talk with Hewar on my second phone call. I highly recommend Elite. If I ever need a service like this again, I will for sure call Hewar.

The gentlemen we had were friendly and took care of all of our luggage. The company has great communication. We were scheduled to be picked up at 4:45am but at around 9pm the night before I started getting nervous that we should leave a few minutes earlier, so I sent them an email asking if we could leave at 4:30am instead, really not expecting anyone to respond in time. They actually emailed me back within 10 minutes and confirmed the earlier pick-up time. Then, our return flight landed at PDX (an unheard of!) 40 minutes early. As soon as we touched down I texted the number to see if there would be any way someone could come pick us up for 40 minutes earlier than planned, again not necessarily expecting a response - especially since it was close to midnight. However, they texted me back instantly that my driver would be in touch with me soon, and sure enough our driver texted me within a few minutes. By the time we grabbed our suitcases off of the conveyor and walked a few minutes to the curb, our driver was already there and waiting despite us being 40 minutes early - and, again, it was close to midnight on a Wednesday. We are customers for life!

She had to go all the way to Eugene which is a two hour ride. I found Portland Luxury on Yelp and the owner Billy put me and my wife at ease. He tracked my daughters flight information, picked her up directly at the airport and texted her before she landed with all of the directions on where to meet. He even texted me when he picked her up and at the end of the ride to confirm she arrived safely. I am from the New York area and did not have a connection in Portland but I am so great full for Billy and Portland Luxury. He was a guardian angel who made sure my daughter got to her location safely. I recommend this company to everybody. If you are landing in Portland give Billie a call!

I get that mistakes happen and I would normally let it go, but this idiot had the nerve to back up and yell at me that I was in the wrong for crossing the street. In a residential neighborhood. That I live in. Where everyone is out walking their dogs. With no crosswalks. BECAUSE IT'S 25MPH NEIGHBORHOOD THAT PEOPLE LIVE IN AND ANY SANE DRIVER WOULD WATCH THE ROAD AND STAY UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT! I would not trust him to get yourself or your loved ones anywhere safely. I reserved a ride with Five Star Special Transport on Sunday night for Monday afternoon and was worried they might not be able to arrange a pickup with less than 24 hours notice. Jacqueline reached out to me by 10am Monday, confirmed the time of our ride, and answered all my questions. The driver, Gary, arrived on time, helped my mother get into the wheelchair, and made sure she was very securely placed in the van. The van itself was modern, clean, and well-equipped. Both Jacqueline and Gary were kind and professional. I'll definitely be using their service again when my Mom needs it. Thank you, guys!

Revisiting PNW airports on an "in and out" basis - OUT - (2 of 2)…read more This is a lauded airport, but it must be remembered that Portland International Airport (PDX) does not have the sort of pressure in terms of flights and passenger volume that the main city and airport (SEA) in the region has. Its layout is very sensible and almost intuitive. One of its strongest assets is that the light rail connection practically goes to its front door. The terminal scheme at PDX could best be described as a big "H." The crossbar is where the main terminal and its functions such as ticketing, security, and typical merchants and administrative offices are located. The legs of the "H" on both sides of the main terminal have runway systems at their sides, making them parallel and able to be used simultaneously. Going into the airport, the concourses on the left side (to the south) are B and C. On the right side (to the north) are D and E. The B concourse telescopes a little farther back to make for a small A concourse for commuter flights operated with smaller aircraft. Since one can go through security on either of the two sides of the main terminal, there is a connector between the C and D concourses allowing the passenger to move to the correct side of the airport for their flight. Most of the work to improve PDX and make it a 5-star event has been in the center of the physical plant. The main terminal has been modernized and the check-in counters are the shorter ones perpendicular to the facade and access road. What used to be primarily the parking structure has been lengthened outward and now includes the rental cars organized by brand on various parking decks. A consolidated rental car center for all the brands is now located at ground level halfway through this structure. All of this big structure's functions then use a very wide underground spine to reach the main terminal, after crossing the access road in a long pathway underneath it, and featuring PDX's trademark carpeting! Personnel encountered at PDX are routinely pleasant. The airport is very clean. Partly owing to its quirky carpeting and interior vibe seemingly blending American and Nordic sensibilities, it's comfortable like an old shoe. Restrooms and food options are sensibly interspersed within. (I will not comment on the pricing for some of the food options.) In the longer concourses, there are some segments with moving walkways. It appears that international flights use gates toward the end of the D concourse. The transit options to get here are one of the airport's strong points. One of the main MAX light rail lines has its terminus here at the airport. Given that there are now various MAX lines, one can practically mix and match them to get here ... and that doesn't even include quirky old school heavy rail WES commuter trains to and from Wilsonville! As you can see, all the boxes are checked. PDX is a very sensible airport that is easy to use.

Actually had called a different (unnamed) cab company before Flat Taxi that had NOT worked out at all! However, I wish to say I highly endorse Flat Cab and A #1 Driver ***Tasallah***!! The magic provided by their safe, professional, AND polite driving was impressive. What a Gentleman I found in Tasallah!
