    Station

CTA has a station at Midway Airport. It takes passengers all the way from downtown. One of the cheapest ways to get here from there. A good way to save a lot of money on stupid airport expenses. The train brings you right at the parking garage so you can go in. It gets good ratings because of the location and convenience. It serves the Orange Line. This is in fact the terminal of this type of transportation. Conveniently the station is connected to the garage. This makes it easy for commuters to get on and off trains. Even better is not having to even use a car. This saves a lot of money on driving and parking. Certainly the worst part is the walk into the airport. It's a long way from the station through the garage. This also connects to bus routes and other forms of transportation.

Took the train from Midway airport to downtown Chicago. The station is a ground level station and on the Orange Line. There is indoor and sheltered bike parking available. This is also a bus stop. The $10 1-day CTA fare pass is affordable and you get to ride as many times as you want in a day. The ticket machines are easy to operate and if you take your time and follow the instructions it is not complicated. I had a little trouble with entering the terminal as I didn't see the sign change on the display on the turnstile. So I had to be let in by the agent. I'm a hot mess. The train was already waiting so we got on board. There are maps on the top so you can see the different stations and find the one you need. The ride was smooth for the most part and it was not crowded both times we rode. The train is on a platform downtown and it was strange to ride between buildings and be able to look into someone's room since we were so close. It feels like the buildings press against the train. When we got out, we made our way through the turnstile and down to the street. On the return, we found a station and took the stairs up and went through the turnstiles. There are elevators if you need. And the signage tells you which side of the platform you need to be on depending on your route. It's actually pretty easy compared to other train systems I've ridden on. They announce the stations where you can transfer to another line at so that's convenient.

When you the first ine on the train in the morning its very peaceful

The downside is you have to use the ParkMobile app to renew your parking and the app is awful. The major issue is you can only renew your parking until midnight, or immediately after midnight. So if you're parking overnight, you must be awake at 12:01am to renew your parking for another 12 hours. Needless to say, 3 days in a row, that is unsatisfactory. Unfortunately the app does not let you know that in advance; you simply find out at 11pm when you want to go to sleep and realize you can only renew parking for 59 minutes unless you try again after midnight. My car was safe for the three days it was at Kedzie. But the surrounding are is a neighborhood to avoid at night, with all due respect. Note: the lot is on the north side of the CTA station. I seem to recall my initial thoughts being about how clean and sensical this station was! As a terminus, it's very easy to navigate, with clear signage telling you which track the next train will depart from. The station is also extremely well-lit and clean, especially given how many people pass through at all hours of the day and night. I've never had any safety concerns, at least in part due to the large number of fast-walking people, security, and police presence. While not a museum piece, I appreciate that the glass walls have some colorful lighting behind them. For a station that is technically underground, it's a warm retreat from the otherwise fully utilitarian ones. The one tiny hope I have is that signage along the platform would reflect when the train will actually depart. I generally like to be as close to the head car as possible and always worry the doors will start to close on me. Though to be fair this is more a CTA issue than one with the station itself. Last, but certainly not least, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the convenience of having an El station right under the airport! I am able to connect to the rest of the city without having to fuss around with buses and other transit options. With all this, the O'Hare El Station ticks all the boxes for what I would expect and hope for in a station serving one of the nation's busiest airports.

Addison is accessible, has ample digital signage, and is easy to navigate. It is also wider than average for an 'L' station and is relatively clean, especially given how many people pass through. This amount of foot traffic is, however, its undoing. When there's a Cubs game or another event at Wrigley, Addison proves to be ill-equipped for the sheer volume of people. Yes, there is staff present to help manage crowds, but a packed platform is suboptimal for multiple reasons, especially safety. I appreciate that due to the CTA's setup, one cannot simply wish a wider station into existence. It may be possible, but it would be extraordinarily capital-intensive. That said, CTA-Addison gets the job done very well outside of Wrigley events, and passably during them.

This train stop is very well kept, and I'm sure it's location to Wrigley Field has a lot to do with that. There are two escalators (granted -- one is usually down), an elevator, and a HUGE platform so there is plenty of space to spread out. There is a woman who works here every morning who is as sweet as can be and always greets us regulars with a smile. The redline is not always the safest of trains, but it sure can get you downtown faster than the brown! If you're in town exploring the city or going to a Cubs game, nothing is more convenient than hopping off at Addison as the stop just steps from the field. If you live in the neighborhood, this can definitely be a downside. On game nights, the streets are flooded with fans and vendors. The trains from downtown back up to Wrigley are packed with fans going to the games in addition to the regulars heading home from work. It can definitely add some extra time getting home, which is something to keep in mind during the summer months. Overall, I always feel safe at this stop, the employees are friendly, it's well maintained, and the trains are *usually* on time!
