I work within the industry, have seen how Covid has ravaged our population, am well aware the need…read morefor donations and intended to begin being a frequent donor as BioLife-Eau Claire was a close proximity. I created an account, scheduled online, arrived on time and brought all correct forms of ID. Most of the check in process went well. Not yet having donating...TWO hours later, sitting with the THIRD technician, I advised her of a graft repair -thoracic aneurysm 12 years prior. Not technically a "Heart problem" as per one of the questions but she said I was not allowed to ever donate plasma. This didnt sound right. When questioned, she was unable to explain other than "Its on the list". No other staff on site for explanation. No redirection. Nothing. I was to leave. No donation to be given. This is simply untrue. I have been cleared for donating organs, plasma, blood etc. I am aware this technician lacks the medical knowledge/ability to offer more than "Its on the list we are sorry for your time spent here" (She was kind) but to NOT have an alternate route for communication is BEYOND dissapointing when the demand for donations is so very high. A negative reflection for this facility and company. I will be donating through a separate establishment and directing patients elsewhere as well.

This place needs more people and someone to run the people. Even if they had a better system it would exponentially help.

Saving lives feels so good! (and don't even get me started about those delightful cookies you get…read morewhen you're done) The staff is friendly, and knows what they're doing (which is a big deal when it comes to sticking you with a needle). You can donate in honor of a specific Mayo patient that needs blood, which will then give them free blood (you don't even have to match blood types! they'll get what they need, just because you gave).

The nurses are the best and you can have cookies and Mountain Dew when your done! Score!read more
