Not concierge level medical service, but very close.
This is a brand new physician owned facility, not affiliated with any of the big chains (Mayo, Marshfield, etc.)
All that they do is surgery. No emergency room, no cancer treatment, etc. Oakleaf provides day (or outpatient) surgery as well as overnight stays for those who need to recuperate from their surgeries in a more supervised setting then going home right away. They do not have physicians there overnight, but they do have cardiac trained specialists, RN's and other staff full time.
All of the hospital staff are patient focused, including admin, food service, surgery staff and rn's on the floor. Not just to me, but both my wife and I observed this with all their patient and family interactions, not just with us. When you check out of your overnight stay, they send you with a nice bouquet in an Oakleaf coffee cup. And a week later a personally signed card shows up thanking you for choosing them
While your in Surgery, they have a nice small café and waiting room for family/friends. They also do a good job keeping them informed.
If your staying overnight, the rooms are very nice, and large. Very nice baths. No cramped poorly lit bathrooms.
Patient food, if you are here overnight, is prepared on demand. That's right, cooked to order. And it is good. If you have a guest with you they will prepare a meal for them also, at a very low cost.
I have experienced a number of Hospitals, from small rural hospitals to Mayo in Rochester and University Hospital in Madison. While Oakleaf provides a limited amount of services, they provide in a nicer environment, with better patient care than any facility I have been in. read more
