This is how you lose customers as a small business. I walked in with a new tire and my wheel and the expectation that I would be charged $25 to have this new tire put on. This was my 4th time here in the last year and a half. I have used their tire change service on all my previous visits, and have never had a problem. Prior to my 1st visit, I called ahead to see their price. Off the bike, $25. They have a sign indicating this as well. Yesterday I was charged $35. I was told this was because I did not purchase the tire through them. I get it, other shops have said the same, but why has that never been an issue before? And why isn't that indicated anywhere? The kicker was when I was told that was an "old antique" sign anyway that's not really used. I chose to pay because it's only $10, and though I was not in need of the wheel right away, driving back a couple days later just didn't seem worth it. As I waited, I saw a matte black Shoei that I've been eyeballing for a while now. It was on sale for ($320ish) and in my size. I wanted to buy it on the spot but had a bad taste in my mouth from being squeezed for $10. I wrote my original review and photo of this shop last year I think after my 2nd visit. I guess this is my last visit, there's just no excusing that behavior. I used to work at a bicycle shop, and prices were posted as clear as this sign. I don't recall squeezing a few bucks out of someone like this. If they could have said it was expedited service, then I would understand. Using a bs excuse about their old vintage sign, cmon...

The sales people were not pushy and allowed us to browse the motorcycles. Unfortunately, we did not see the bike that was listed on their website and went straight to the parts shop. The guy helping us at the helmet section (I forget his name but it could be Xavier?) was easy going and let me browse the selection without breathing down my neck and was able to answer my questions when asked. So, where did it go wrong? When his coworker (some young, white kid) decided to jump in to help and then talked back to my partner regarding a display item vs open box item, which was uncalled for and completely rude as hell. We still ended up purchasing a helmet since I really needed one for some plans later in the day. I made sure I spoke to Xavier (I'm sorry if I got your name wrong but I'm pretty sure that's the name that came up when I was paying at the front) about the item I wanted in case he gets some sort of credit for helping out. And kid, there IS a difference between a display item and an open box item. I'm not sure how my partner's question triggered him to answer with such attitude lol. Like it isn't stressful enough to decide which helmet to purchase??

I always regretted not buying my first Harley here. I have…read morebeen coming to this location for years for parts and service. Even before I had a Harley, (I rode a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad), I would visit their merchandise section. The store is always inviting , especially after the remodel, and the sales team are not like car dealership vultures, following you everywhere you go. But if you had a question there was always someone ready to answer them. So with all my past visits I would take note how different sales personnel interacted with customers. Then I bought a Harley in 2023 and started logging my mileage on my motor at Laidlaws which requires interaction with the staff. So when I finally decided to trade my 2023 motor cycle I knew who I wanted to work with. And I was not disappointed! Mickey is a 'no pressure' kind-of salesman. He calmly answered my questions. No eye-roll, sighing, condescending comebacks. I had his full attention. I was torn between three bikes. When I narrowed it to what I thought was 'The One' he wrote up the offer and took it to the boss. As I waited I knew the one I picked was not what I really wanted. I was 'settling' for it for the bells and whistles and lower price (pre-owned). It wasn't the color I wanted. When I told him this, without hesitation, he offered to write up another offer on the new motor I originally went in for. His calm demeanor helped make this purchase a pleasant experience. Not once did I feel like walking away from the process. In fact, it didn't even feel like a process. It was just 2 guys sharing information as we talked about 'motorcycle life' stuff. I liked what the final offer was and the deal was made. I would definately make another purchase at Laidlaws. Thanks Mickey!

It's really not a wild concept to comprehend. It would be nice to be able to adjust the cable longer or shorter as necessary. I left a sample set of cables with notes with them for 2 weeks before being asked to return to go over the notes. They know I'm not close by and I want 10 sets of cables so I make the drive. I'm confronted by 3 of the genuinely most dumb people I've encountered in LA. They're in the business of making and selling custom cables and they can't comprehend that the cables need to be a specific length. In the past I've sent my assistant to avoid them but he refuses to go back, an associate and a friend warned me about them before going and I've been extra patient accordingly - it's the only cable manufacturer I can drive to, albeit a 40 minute journey. This is my 4th time there and it's just unbearable. I cannot urge you enough not to waste your time. There are other options for custom cable manufacturers. This place is not the answer.
