As I sat waiting for my food, I saw a few people come in who were greeted by employees and other patrons by name. I chose French toast, scrambled eggs, two bacon and two sausage. It was pretty decent, but I think I should have ordered the waffle, since it's in the name of the restaurant. They had specialty waffles also. The staff was nice and helpful. From the outside you will note that the building definitely needs a little love, but within you'll find a classic cozy coffee spot for a warm beverage and a tasty brunch. My most recent visit was an early morning where I think we caught them a little off guard. It would seem the college crowd doesn't make it in until after 10 on the weekends. It seems like it is worth it to look them up online and have a good idea of what you want beforehand. This is one of those spots where there is a large menu behind the counter and some small paper menus by request. Basically it forces you into that awkward engagement before you've really had a chance to check things out. A West Coast Breakfast Sandwich on a Bagel with a Mocha hit the spot for me. Portions are modest, so you don't have to worry to much about overeating. It was a nice way to break up the holiday weekend monotony.
