Sad story, to be sure. Crystal River is such an up and coming destination in Florida. So I REALLY want to support our local businesses. However we JUST had a routine tire rotation and balance on our pickup prior to our road trip. We had to stop at Discount Tire in Savannah, Georgia after miles of intense vibration. Come to find out that both tires on the left were fine. Both tires on the right were one ounce and one and 1/2 ounce off respectfully. Sorry Firestone. You REALLY missed this one. read more

I am giving a 5 star review, but I have never been there. Let me explain... I called Firestone and asked how much it would cost to have my transmission fluid changed. The gentleman I spoke to (I cannot remember his name, unfortunately) was insanely helpful. He broke down the price into parts and labor, but told me that he and his service manager were looking at the process. He then explained that it's very simple to do, and explained the process in detail for me. **A mechanic in an auto shop suggested to me that I could do it myself for way cheaper.** HOLYFREAKINGCRAP!!! We then decided that I would take a look at the car and see how hard it was for me to do, and I'd call him back if I needed him to do it. I looked it up online and at my car, and the man was absolutely correct. There was no way for the helpful man to know, but I'm pretty broke and on a meager fixed income. This guy saved me money and time, and I will absolutely be bringing my car there in the future. I will also recommend them to others. I'm definitely not saying that auto repair places are usually dishonest, as that is simply not the truth. However, it has been quite a while since I have lived near an honest shop that I could trust. Thanks for being a good person at a time where that is becoming a scarcity. read more

We used Crystal River Firestone for a few years, staff friendly and helpful. When they couldn't figure out what was wrong with our SUV, we took it to a dealership, they fixed the cable problem and told us that the oil cap was loose, hardly any oil in the car, they fixed that. Then, I took my Sonic for an oil change in St. Pete, and guess what, oil cap was loose, hardly any oil, low on antifreeze, tires only had 13 lb. of pressure. A coincident? I think not, not on two cars, it is bad service...will never go there again. read more

We were 1800 miles from home when we discovered we had a faulty tire. We stopped into Crystal River Firestone to try to get a replacement and to see if the manufacturer would replace the tire at a prorated price. The tire was only 6 months old. The elder Bob in the shop spent over an hour of his time helping us, allowed us to use his office etc to speak with the manufacturer, spoke with the manufacturer himself and was very supportive. We were incredibly impressed by the customer service of the shop to 2 people they don't know that they were not going to get much money from us as Bob got the replacement tire for free. read more

I have visited Crystal River Firestone twice in the past 20 years. The first time, 20 years ago, we had brought in our car for an oil change and general 5,000 mile check up. Their check up was apparently very cursory, as we soon thereafter found the carburetor full of leaves. Today, I decided to give them another shot, as I needed a tire repaired. The friendly receptionist said that it shouldn't take more than about half an hour to check out the tire, and that she would call me when it was done. Two hours later, having not heard anything, I went back to check on their progress. In spite of having just checked me in two hours ago, the friendly receptionist showed zero recognition in her eyes. She had to look me up in the system to determine that the tire had not even been looked at. When I reminded her of her original estimate of half an hour, her attitude was simply one of disregard, as in "it'll be done when it's done." I took my tire around the corner to Tire Kingdom who, in spite of being equally busy, took the five minutes to determine that the tire could not be fixed. Thank you, Tire Kingdom, for the excellent and prompt service. To Crystal River Firestone, I can only say that it's a shame that you have again lost my business. read more

This Place is has a problem with color just trying to get a tire fixed I went in told them I needed my tire fixed he wrote it up they took care of everyone except me for at least a hour and a half then they say it can't be fixed read more

Crystal River Firestone is kind of a institution in C.R. It's family run and they are deeply tied to the community. It seems they know everyone who comes through the door. I've been there twice for car repairs and they were fair and professional. read more

This place is ridiculous. I brought in my car to check the headlights cause one was lower than the other cause it was in a accident when I bought it. I had to bring in my car 3 times!! The first time they charged me and they didn't even touch the headlights they were exactly the same before I brought it in. The second time the idiots lowered the headlight that was good so now I have to drive with my brights on and third time I brought in my car I asked them to please bring them up higher cause I can't see and they didn't do a damn thing about it and said "oh you need body work done cause of the accident" like seriously?! You lower my headlights and then say there stuck like that? Yeah right this place is just a rip off. And when I called to ask to please get a refund cause they couldn't help with my problem they said they want a $100 cause they looked at it and said they'll refund my $35. This place is just ridiculous straight up. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here cause who knows if they'll even look at your car. Like I said they charged me for a service they didn't even do and wasted my time going there. read more
