I wouldn't take my vehicle to them if they were the last automotive repair shop in a hundred miles. We took my car there and everything they did was wrong they put the wrong parts on the car and we had to take it back the next day and they still messed up then a month later they had bolts backing out that weren't threadlocked in. Everything they touched was bad. So think twice about going to this shop for anything. read more

UNTRUSTWORTHY. I came here a couple of months ago. I had oil change, brakes, caliper and a hose replaced. A month later I got a flat tire. The tire shops mechanic took me under the car and showed me many problems that weren't even mentioned. AND THE CALIPER WAS NOT REPLACED. When I spoke to Chillsons they said OOPS, WE MEANT TO TAKE THOSE CHARGES OFF, COME GET A CHECK. Crooked. I NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN if I didn't get that flat. CROOKED. I called for towing service. They got there in a reasonable amount of time. The car did not run and I told him that the gear shifter would not move. While I was not looking he used a screw driver and tore out the button that lets you move the gear shifter to various stages. Like Park, drive,etc. I had no idea he was doing that. I did not tell him to do it. It cost me $102. to have it fixed. When I took it to the dealer they asked me what happened to the shifter and I had no idea. A few days later I found the pieces between the sheets and realized what it was and realized that, that was how they guy got the car to move. JUst not professional at all. You should never destroy someone property. I knew the car did not go into gear and that was why I called a flat bed truck. Never again. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!!! Thanks Charlie for only doing half the work you were paid $2400 to do!!!! Usually when you do headgaskets/radiator/water pump/thermostat, you would check to make sure the hoses are in good shape, and flush the cooling system to get all the gunk and oil out of the system. Fun fact! You know oil eats rubber!!! Like radiator hoses. Plus it took a month to do a job that they claimed would be 2 days, I understand unforeseen problems arose, but the way it was handled was poor, even after all parts were ready, my vehicle was still least priority!!! I've used them several times and the quality of work and care has completely diminished! I'll never take my vehicles there again or recommend their services to anyone again! So find another shop unless you want to pay top dollar and do half the work yourself!!! Here's some pics of my new radiator they installed and the fresh coolant they put in!!! I asked Chilson's Garage to conduct a thorough inspection of a 94 Acura Legend in May 2012 that I was interested in buying from a local seller. I live in Los Angeles. He said he was an expert in Honda's and Acura's and used a complete checklist to inspect used cars. I really wish I didn't because he missed major issues with the car. Namely: 1. The car steer wheel shakes when driven at highway speeds. 2. The car handles poorly and bounces because the struts/shock were completely worn. 3. The right turn signal and one of the interior light lens was cracked. 4. There is a 5 inch gash in the front bumper. 5. The hood is scratched all over and there is major clear coat damage throughout the car. 6. The interior wood dash panel is cracked in many places. 7. The car battery was on its last leg and shortly after I received the car, it wouldn't turn over. Unfortunately the owner took images from a good distance which did not pick up the cosmetic issues. I asked Chilson's directly about the condition of the interior and exterior and he responded that everything was in good shape. He only recommended that the brake be serviced because it locked up and the timing belt and water pump to be changed to be safe. I really don't know what frame of mind he was in when he inspected this car and the only explanation I can think of is that he is friends with the seller or somehow made some agreement with him. (The seller lives only a few miles away and one of the reason I picked Chilson's was because he was nearby.) In the end I asked for the inspection checklist that he spoke about and all I received was the receipt. What a load of B.S. I was duped by a dishonest seller and then a dishonest mechanic. Update. After driving the car about 1000 miles the head gasket blew which completely destroyed my hopes to fix up this car. This was specifically somethig i asked these guys to watch for. I dont know if they could have detected that this was going to happen soon but they certainly didnt help me avoid this complete waste of money. read more

Charlie is amazing, We bought a 09 Acadia from Buick Eagle in Homosassa last year in 2017.With a $2000 warrenty that doesn't seem to cover anything. We've had more problems with it then we should have. Anyway, my AC goes out during the hottest part of the year, August.. Took my car to the dealership, and of course the part that's broke wasn't covered. They wanted to charge us $1,140. Well, we had Charlie work on my Ford last year and he did a fantastic job. So we decided to see what he would charge us to fix it. Made an appointment to drop my car off, charlie gives me a ride back to my house so I don't have to wait there. I get the call that the part thats broken, isn't the part the dealership said it was. And it would cost us only $613.00 to fix it. What I like about Charles is he goes over everything, making sure he knows exactly what the problem is. And Will let you know how much before he starts working on your vehicle. I purchased a used 2002 Lexus SC430 and called to see if they worked on Lexus. I was told they did so I made an appointment and told them to go over the car and make the necessary repairs. They told me it needed to have all the fluids flushed and replaced. They said it also needed an alignment. I gave the go ahead and went to pick up my vehicle. When I arrived I tried to pay with a credit card as it was over $1500. The credit card charge would have been roughly another $60 plus I noticed they neglected to change my oil which they added on another $50 and performed the change while we returned home to get a check. Since then, June 2019 I've had to put another $5000 into this car through the Lexus dealership. These people don't know shit about Lexus cars. I will never return to them for anything. I wouldn't recommend them capable of topping off my washer fluid. BTW, they're very abrupt and unfriendly. DO NOT PATRONIZE this establishment unless you've got an extra $1500 to throw away. I rated them only 1 star as it wouldn't post the zero they deserve. read more

Owning a place in Floral City, we tried them twice: Filthy place! We tried getting a tow from them and they never showed up. When a tire needed servicing, they insisted all 4 needed replacing with some cheap-looking unknown brand. BOTTOM LINE: Dirty, Unreliable, Misleading. = KEEP AWAY!! read more

I started using Chilson's Garage a year or so ago. Their proximity to my home and use of BG Oil products drew me to them. I liked what I saw and use them exclusively now. They service my two vehicles: an abused work vehicle and a 1 ton dually. I believe they've kept the work vehicle alive longer than it should've lived. The dually should be able to live quite a long time... maybe even 1 million miles. (I hope!) I wouldn't dream of taking it to anybody but the best. read more

I set up an appointment, but they did not have in stock a cabin air filter for my car. The car I drive has manufacturer oil change intervals of 5,000 miles But Chilson, who apparently is more interested in dollars over customer service scheduled my next oil change for 3,000 miles. One more example of greed over genuine care for customers. I can get the same service elsewhere and will bring my car in at 5,000 mile intervals. Stay away at all cost. They are crooked and will begin work on your car with NO estimate in order to lock you in. They said my transmission gasket was leaking, so I had them replace it. Less than 300 miles later fluid was leaking again. They misdiagnosed the problem. I was going to make a cross country trip with my vehicle and asked for a complete tip to tail inspection. They assured me all was well. 300 miles later my rear brakes failed. They told me specifically that they checked the brakes and the linings were only about 30% worn. They are incompetent, crooked and violate all MVR Shop rules and regulations. Don't, don't, don't ever do business with them. All their bragging advertisements about their repair history is a bunch of lies. They advertise their excellent service, I can do that, I'm an excellent airline pilot HOWEVER I've never flown a plane in my life. Liar Liar! Shame on you Charlie! read more
