This review is more to the attention of the warranty and service dept. at Crystal Windows. I bought a home a few years ago in the Nassau County area that had pre-existing windows installed and manufactured by Crystal Windows Inc. After a few years and few children later, one of the windows was damaged (by said children I assume). All I can say is that from the initial contact with the service dept at Crystal to completion of job, it really has been hassle free. The Crystal technician was punctual and experienced. Everything from the company vehicle (I live in a neighborhood that frowns upon grifitti riddled work vans) to the quality of work performed by the Crystal technician was professional. For a company like Crystal Windows to stand behind their products and also rectify issue with such due diligence and professionalism speaks volume especially in this day of age with so many "fly by night contracting companies." I am planning to upgrade some doors in my house before winter this year and based on service of products Crystal Windows provided, I will go with them just for the peace of mind knowing I will have a product that a company truly stands behind and will respond if needed. Good value? YES! Their price is not the cheapest around the area but compared to the work they have done in my place, it was very reasonable. The installation is neat, design and color fit our old frames and building, and the manager did not fail to inform us of small changes and other things we need to know before and during the installation. Respond quickly? YES! I sent them a quotation request at around 9 in the morning and was able to receive a response at 4 in the afternoon. Some companies took days to get a response. Reliable? Definitely, YES! I explained to them what I want and what are my concerns, including my desired time frame, and BOOM, they delivered! On-time and to my satisfaction. "Great product. Had two small issues and their service team came out to address it. They replaced a tilt part but one item couldn't be repaired because it was due to installation. They helped me to call back the contractor that installed the window and the contractor realized he didn't "shim" square the window. I learned that finding a good installer is a big factor with windows. It's like blaming the tire manufacturer if your auto mechanic didn't mount the tire properly. Hope that makes sense. I had bathroom windows replaced by independent contractor (we hired him to redo entire BR) approx 5 years ago. Noticed condensation and mold growth about a year ago on inside of lower window. Other than the the windows saying Crystal on them, I had no other paperwork saying I bought windows from them. (it wasn't specified on contractors bill) However, they replaced the glass totally free of charge. According to them, they have a "no condensation" warranty; they also invoiced the work at approx. $80. read more
