Review I was profoundly disappointed by the work done for me by Crystal Clean who were highly recommended to me. I paid $400 for a deep clean of bathrooms, baseboards and hardwood floors in anticipation of a family visit that included a crawling baby since I'm almost 70 and it's hard for me to do it all myself. I have waxed hardwood floors that cannot be cleaned with water and I use a cleaner made specifically for that purpose. The Crystal Clean crew brings their own supplies and the contract specified that if you had a special need for a type of cleaner other than their usual supplies that you should notify the office to make sure that your need could be met. I called the office before signing the contract and was told to give the workers the cleaner I use and explain the process and they could accommodate me. The workers did a good job on the bathrooms- very thorough, no complaint. One worker spent an inordinate amount of time trying to scrub old sticky poster tac off of a bedroom wall. Not only was that not part of the remit of "bathrooms, baseboards and floors" as contracted, but she actually damaged the wall by scrubbing off the paint! See photo #1. The upstairs hall and downstairs floors are all waxed hardwood. I showed the workers the ample supply of floor cleaning fluid ( six bottles) and the mops I use. They said they understood how to do the job and I left them to it. The downstairs floors weren't completely vacuumed (see # 8) They did not use a sufficient amount of the cleaning fluid as I instructed them and as a result I was left with spots and splotches where they splashed the fluid and essentially dry mopped the floors. The floors were not "deep cleaned" by any stretch of the definition. I sent these photos to the office of the cleaning I had to do (2,3,4) AFTER the floors had been "deep cleaned" and received a reply that I couldn't expect my floors to be cleaned in one visit, and that I should look into hiring a professional floor cleaner! ‍ So disappointed. read more

Erica called us and left messages stating she wished to have a chance to make good on our arrangement. She had that chance and remains petty and combative. I edited my original post to now say $400.00 not $650.00 and 30-40 min. Per the conversation we had with her. That same conversation where we insisted the cleaners were only there for 30 min but conceded that it was up to and no more than 40 min. So, 30-40min Now this is a perfect example, Erica sent an email to my wife where she claimed this yelp review was, "publicly defaming to her and her company...". This is an intentionally litigious word That my wife and I have taken as she has a litigious, (law suit,) intent. Or an intent to intimidate us through the use of litigious jargon. Every time they came out to my house things were left undone. From the deep clean and on. Never did they offer to reimburse any charges. After the deep clean when things were not cleaned as promised, they did offer to come back out and finish, but I couldn't accommodate. But then every time after there were always unfinished things, and they never offered ANYTHING. They will not make sure it's done the the next time. They never cleaned my baseboards as stated in Deep Clean. Nor did they clean them the next time they came out as they promised. I don't typically write yelp reviews but felt I had to on this business. We had them come clean our home three times. Our home is 850 square feet, 2 bedroom 1 bath with just my husband there. We were quoted from $110-138 which seemed reasonable as they charge $55 an hour and we figured it would be about two hours. We have hardly any furniture or Knick knacks (no coffee table, no dressers, no display shelves). We discussed we would only have one person come clean vs. multiple girls as my husband has a brain tumor and wanted to be able to have one girl to communicate with and consistent cleaning. He also needed help with his laundry so we wanted one girl so there would be time for this. On our third visit she brought three girls and then charged us $193. First "deep clean" visit was only $160. She folded one small load of laundry and said the extra time was the large amount of clothes (check photo on this giant load) and dishes, which he owns 4 plates and four bowls. I am not sure what happened on this last service (my guess is we paid two girls to sit around while they finished the laundry), but when I was obviously upset about this price as it was not anything I was expecting or quoted previously, they still just went ahead and charged my credit card. That day they were cleaning my wife was moving in the wine and some other breakables. She had her life long friend helping her. They placed a bottle of 2009 Dom Perignon on our wet bar and most of the other alcohol. Was it a great idea looking back? No, obviously not. It was hectic, we were just moving in to an empty house, looking back I would have let them clean and then moved in. We were really only moving some of our breakables into one room because we didn't want the movers to do it. Anyway I came home from work and went to the new house and noticed that the Dom I saw at lunch time was not on the wet bar. We asked her friend if she saw it when she left and she said no and she remembered it sitting on the wet bar when she was there. We called the cleaning service owner. This is where my problem with them comes into play. The owner wasn't present onsite during the cleaning. After we explained our situation the owner immediately went on the defensive and in a really nasty way. I understand being defensive but at the same time she could have said "I wasn't at the job; I haven't had these issues with these people before, let me talk to the person in charge that did your job, etc." There was none of this. Instead she claimed "Two of the people there don't even drink" as if someone who doesn't drink might not rip off a $200 bottle of champagne. There were five people here and lets just say they didn't all look as if they were on the straight and narrow. The owner then tried to blame the pool guy. This pool boy maintained this pool for the previous residents for four years. Has had access to their home with a key for four years and has stolen nothing and has had a job at this pool company for four years with no incidents. Not only that but there were five cleaners in the house when he came in to get the pool key (we have a locking walk on auto cover he has to key into). He would have had to go to a different part of the house completely to even steal the bottle. The key was just inside the back door. The contract with the pool company was continuing with us so he was coming to clean the pool on a normal schedule. After talking to the pool guy my wife called the owner back again. She was rude on the phone and passive aggressive and snarky. She obviously doesn't have a care in the world that while her company was in our house that day with five people we lost an expensive bottle of champagne. She even had the gall to state "well do you have a photo of the bottle sitting on the wet bar to prove it was sitting there?" Seriously lady? Seriously? I saw it there. It was in the black decorative box that they come in new. First her claim was the pool guy stole it. Then it was that 2 of 5 employees 'don't even drink', then it was that she hires good people, then it was that we were lying altogether and could not prove it was sitting there. She asked if we could prove we even owned one. We have a receipt even (bought at Costco so they can look it up). We have witnesses that can attest that it was there. Ridiculous. She obviously DOES NOT SCREEN EMPLOYEES WELL and doesn't care about customers and needs to take a customer service class. Here goes my first-ever negative review, which I am compelled to share with others considering this service: I was very disappointed with my overall experience with Crystal Clear Home. The level of service, professionalism and follow-through left much to be desired. I asked for their highest level of service and was quoted what I thought to be a somewhat high price - but I decided to go for it. Yelp reviews seemed mostly positive and I did want to have my house deep cleaned. The cleaning team got there later than expected... and spent less time than was quoted. The bill was also 20% higher than quoted. On the day of the cleaning, we arrived back home, just as the team was leaving. The ladies were pleasant (if a tad awkward) and we thanked them for their service. If only we had checked the house before they left. There were cobwebs in half of the rooms (despite having been promised that all rooms would be web-free), some of the baseboards and cabinets were obviously untouched. Again, they failed to deliver as promised. There were many other small details that were missed but I won't bore readers of this review. Suffice it to say that we felt that we were grossly overcharged for the less-than-promised level of service that we received. Subsequently, I left a few messages for the service. After some time, I finally got a call back. When I calmly and very politely explained all of the reasons that I was not satisfied with the service, the lady I spoke with became immediately defensive. She never apologized. She never offered to make it right by sending the cleaners back to finish the work. She never offered a price adjustment. She merely said a very curt 'bye'. We have used Crystal Clear Home services for several years and overall are very satisfied. We are on a monthly schedule (down from 2x a month before sweetheart moved in and we got married), and a good basic cleaning monthly works for us. The crew, which could be one energetic young woman or up to three, is always friendly and efficient. The company always emails after the cleaning with invitation to rate the service and give suggestions for improvement. Ideally it would be nice to have the same crew each time, but we sympathize with the challenge of juggling workers with client demands. The crew members appear to be well-trained and respectful of clients' belongings and property. We particularly like when a full crew can be done in around an hour in our 1,500 sq. ft. ranch style tract house. This was my first time engaging this company. A team of 3 women showed up and did a great job of cleaning my house. I think they were here one and quarter hours and did everything I expected them to do. It's worth mentioning that I have a lot of art and knickknacks and nothing was broken and most things were right back where they belonged. My house looked and smelled clean. Avoid this cleaning service at all costs. They charged us $240 for a deep cleaning of a 1300 square foot townhome that is less than 2 years old. There was a crew of three who spent two hours at the place. They worked off their "Priority list" which was sent to us days before the cleaning crew arrived. This list was supposed to prioritize specific areas we wanted the crew to focus on, i.e. Bathrooms and Kitchen given higher priority than hallways, closets etc. Any wall hangings, artwork and windows were omitted from the job; (our windows, screens & sills were cleaned a few days before by a window cleaning service) We also needed to limit the cost of the job and stay within our budget, which the rep at the company suggested. We felt a cap of $200.00 - $220.00 would be sufficient to clean our small place. In preparation of their arrival and to insure the focus stayed on our listed priorities, we made sure that all our photos and loose items were removed from tables, any clutter off the floor, as to save the crew time. After they finished and left, at first, it appeared that everything we wanted cleaned was completed. However, the next day we started noticing things that they missed or were not finished. They did not dust all of the furniture, wipe and dust the cabinetry, didn't finish cleaning the shower (soap film was left on the floor) and completely missed the top of the microwave and fridge. These items were marked by us on their "Priority List" paperwork. We immediately let them know, offering to send them photos of the missed areas. We would have given them a second chance, however, they did not call us back for almost two weeks after we notified them, we starting feeling like we were being ignored. They finally did return our call but offered us NOTHING but excuses, such as: "The girls don't work well off of a "Priority List". What???!! It's your companies own "Priority List"!!! Why offer it to customers if you can't have employees properly trained to work from it??!! It was also stated by the customer service rep that the girls don't work well with caps on the cost. Am I supposed to just let them work as long as they want and go over my budget? I would have considered using them for a monthly maintenance cleaning, but not now. It would have been professional of them if they would have offered maybe an hour of credit during the next cleaning visit, some sort of good will gesture, but nothing was offered except excuses. I wasn't asking for my money back, just address the problem. We've moved on to a different cleaning service that does a phenomenal job at half the cost. Each team has a team leader, and I have a team assigned to my home. Each visit the (same) lead asks me if there is anything different or if I have any comments about the last cleaning. (I happen to work at home so am here when they arrive.) The great thing is, because they achieve such high standards, I know they'll do a wonderful job. The team works efficiently, quickly, and with determination, with a "divide-and-conquer" approach, and their time here is always well spent, never rushed. Regardless of who is on the team (and they are all really good cleaners), the team leader makes sure the job goes well. They dependably do the core cleaning tasks/priorities well and usually add a special touch or address a specific thing (like a corner of a room or counter area) for extra attention here and there. I've been consistently impressed with their diligence and meticulous approach to my cleanings--very detail oriented with great (safer) products. After they are finished, the team leader does a quick walk-through and checks the job for quality. Hired them to clean my tiny house, no pets, no smoking, one person. They did an incredibly poor job, floors were swiped not washed, failed to clean under things, did not clean counter tops, cobwebs still visible. Two women in four hours, 8 hours total, failed to clean an 800 sq ft. house. What were they doing during those 8 hours? When an employee came to check out my complaint she agreed. Sent someone else over finish the job. It was still half done. They did not bring the advertised equipment, did not clean the refrigerator 'That will be an additional $40' even though it was included in the original quote. Very disappointing experience.
