After being in a highly chlorinated hot tub I wanted to rinse off and hydrate my skin with some lotion. None to be found in the men's locker room. I asked one of the massage therapist who happened to be walking by and she said "we don't put lotion in the locker rooms". My response- "you don't provide lotion in a spa locker room"? Her response "nope". She was very rude, snappy and short in her responses. The inside temp of the spa was 88 degrees. We felt like we were suffocating in very hot air. Unfortunately we ended up leaving before our appointments. We did not get a welcoming friendly vibe. Lack of interests in the customer needs. No thank you! I will take my time and money to another spa. In response to Amber- you are correct. We did receive a tour of your spa which was much appreciated and also expected. Your spa men's locker room also lacked correctly sized spa slides. All were size extra small. But after a very brief short tour there was no one left in sight to assist. "The butler" who didn't realize her title as butler when we asked. We were not sure who to address concerns and questions to." We couldn't find you Amber to address our concerns regarding the very warm temp of the waiting area, get a WiFi password, and recieve proper products for our visit. While you may claim you are an "intimate" boutique spa. Your service did not provide any level of intimate personal experience. Your employees should have the answers to basic questions/ needs of a spa. Lotion is a basic essential.

Seemed like way too long I waited for actual hands on massage. She never offered water. She appeared with a clipboard at the end and I didn't even have my glasses to see what I was signing. She was gone like the wind once I paid. I love massages. I get them all the time. She knew what she was doing. She gave a great massage, but it came with some deficiency in bedside manner.

In the float pod rooms they had multiple soft towels, ear plugs, everything for a shower including q-tips, make up remover, and everything was in great shape. They even had a room where you could blow dry your hair, do make up and otherwise get ready after the float. (Blow dryers, lotion and even disposable combs provided). They sold a couple of years ago and it's gone down hill. The showers all need to be cleaned (lime scale on the shower heads, dingy looking), they don't stock the rooms the same, towels are scratchy and you only get one. The biggest bummer for me is they got rid of the room where you could finish getting ready. I was counting on that the last time I went, this past week, and they have turned it into a sauna so I was left running around with wet hair in 20 degree weather. (I live 30 min outside of town so I was left running errands with wet hair). The pods are also seeing some wear. The speakers don't work as well (really warped sounding) and they no longer ease you out of your float by slowly turning binaural beats on but instead blast them with light at the same time. Not a great experience any more, sadly. They also seem more interested in the latest "fat blasting" technology instead of focusing on the float tanks like they used to. Every couple of months they are announcing some new sculpting system or electronic device to remove fat. ‍

I was worried I'd be charged a fee for moving it at such late notice but they were super sweet and accommodating. The spa area is beautiful. I have had a couple nice massages (at the Plaza Hotel) and the rustic but elegant spa upstairs in this hotel is my favorite. The robe was so soft, the hot tub was huge overlooking the mountains (and the floor is girls only so you can strip down), and they have two amazing showers with tons of shower heads and a sauna. My 50 minute massage was reasonably priced for an on-mountain ritzy resort - only $135 - and Jackie did an AMAZING job. I've asked masseuses to work on my glutes before but they never really do it. Maybe it makes them uncomfortable. But Jackie spent a while getting into all my painful spots and was really great to talk to without overdoing it. Definitely get a spa treatment if you stay in this hotel! Or if you really can't... at least check out the ladies' spa floor.

The pics on line don't show their wild flower bed, so just know it's even prettier out there in person! I do wish they had a sauna/steam room. But everything else made up for that... let me tell you the best part: Because our services ended at noon, we asked if we'd be able to order any light lunch fare afterwards. Unfortunately the kitchen of the restaurant there was/is closed between 10am-3pm and so far they weren't allowing guests to bring in off-property food into the spa (smells, mess, etc.). That made sense to us, and we figured we'd just skip lunch that day. However, they have a wonderful and experienced spa director, Kimberly Acker, who surprised us as we left the massage room and said, "Follow me." She led us upstairs to, their outdoor rooftop deck, The Perch, where a bottle of Prosecco on ice, three types of avocado toast, and a bowl of berries awaited us! We felt like royalty sitting there in our robes by a giant fireplace sipping bubbles and nibbling on healthy bites post-service! Kimberly said our request had been a good test run for how to offer spa-appropriate food partnering with other local vendors to guests (aka: no smelly cheeseburgers etc.! LOL!) Wow!
