Everything is well curated, clean, and you can tell they actually care about what they're putting out. Had the Little Ricky sandwich and yeah... that alone is worth the visit. Also love the vibe--laid back, friendly, and easy to just stop in, grab something good, and go. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

I love that everything is halal, so I can eat whatever I want without any worries. Personally, my top favorites are their spicy smashburger and elote hotdog. Overall Jay's Deli is worth checking out and I look forward to continuing to order from them in the future.

My sister and I split the Gaucho and the Yellowfin Tuna Melt (~$20 each). Pricey for sandwiches, but the quality is there. The Gaucho is packed with meat, almost too much, so the combo with chips helps balance things out. The Tuna Melt was the clear winner, Calabrian chilies with the tuna salad was a great call, though the bread-to-filling ratio could use some work. Overall, both sandwiches are delicious but could use some ratio tweaking. I'll be back to work through the rest of their rotating menu.

After many, many months (okay, years at this point), I returned. Unfortunately, I had the same experience with my order. I ordered the Hot Italian. It was warm, and that's all this sandwich delivered. The porchetta was dry, chewy and bland. It was so bad that I didn't eat it all. And the pepperoni and soppressata didn't add any spice to the sandwich. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed in soppressata! I thought the pepperoni mayo would add some kick as well and maybe it would have if there had been more than a half-tablespoon of it. And the bread was not fresh! I could have cried over this. The cost is outrageous for this kind of quality. On the upside, the service remains top tier and the space is still welcoming. But I won't be back. Bathrooms are extremely clean. Staff is friendly and fast. Cons. They only have outdoor seating. Most of the seats are stools without backs. There were some flies and a wasp lurking in the patio. Fans were blowing away my napkins. When I paid in cash they rounded my bill up to the next dollar. Never had someone do that before. $34 for a cheesesteak, potatoes, and small drink seems to be overly priced at a take-out spot. It would be more understanding if you could dine-in or had waiter service. I ordered the Korean Cheesesteak with smashed fried potatoes and a Bourbon Peach Punch. The drink was tasty but really small to cost $10. It looked like a 6oz cup. I would prefer to pay $5 more for a full glass. The smashed fried potatoes were covered in a sauce and some of the best potatoes I have had anywhere. The cheesesteak was made with pork (also a new experience for me) and had plenty of cheese and onions.

We indulged in Artichokes Fritos ($10) for the app which was amazing and I ordered the Chicken pesto ravioli ($18) for my entree. I would've liked a bit more seasoning on the overall dish but it was still satisfying. Our waiter was super attentive and checked on us periodically to ensure we were good and even gifted us with a scoop of strawberry gelato which was super sweet of him. This is truly a neighborhood gem and I really enjoyed my time here. I'd definitely come back here based off the service and taste of the food alone.

It's adjacent to a parking deck and small. Very cozy, though! The menu is simple and it was a one-man show that day (other staff had left due to closing). LOVED IT! The coleslaw was really good and the Sammie was probably one of the freshest I've had. We had to wait a bit due to it being just him but worth the wait. I did the hot chick ... yeah, I can get away with saying that ... and it was huge, overflowing, tender and fresh. This is a SOLID spot. I was told they'd be re-opening nearby and I hope that's the case. They were BUSY as well so it's clearly not a customer issue. Check them out when they re-open. Simple and amazing!

My favorite is the ATL chick which is juicy fried chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce and... ANNNND... lemon pepper. Cmon. We're in ATL. What other way is there?! Then it has ranch drizzled on top and dressed how you want... lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. Even the bread is yummy. The sweet potato fries are crispy and airy and go great with the comeback sauce which is whatever smoky heavenly concoction they came up with as a sauce. Listen if you're in downtown Decatur... Do yourself a favor and get here! There is street parking available and you can pay by app or at the meter. It's about $2 for an hour. They also serve salads, other sandwiches, and breakfast. I remember back in 2020 the owner telling me that they had the LEIDENHEIMER bread flown in from New Orleans weekly. I do believe the bread on a Po'boy makes all the difference. I've tried quite a few Po'boys from here. I've had the grouper, chicken tender and the shrimp, but my absolute favorite is the cheeseburger Po'boy. The burger blend that they use is so good. The remoulade sauce definitely takes it up a notch, but I prefer my Poboy with mayonnaise and they can make it that way. I've never eaten upstairs but downstairs is huge. There's a really big bar. There's a lot of high top table seating. They have arcade games. It's just a great space to enjoy time with your friends. There's plenty of TVs to watch any of the sports games that are on. The bartenders are nice and they really take care of you. Honestly, I think there's something for everyone on the menu. They also have desserts, but I'm not a big fan of the ones that they have. I think the bread pudding is too sweet. Now, if they added a brownie with praline sauce and pecans and bourbon ice cream that would be amazing. Some of my photos are from 2020 to the present.

WHO DAT in Atlanta!…read more As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan living in the Atlanta area, I genuinely appreciate finding an official Saints bar that actually pairs the game-day atmosphere with New Orleans-style food. The Po'Boy Shop in Decatur does exactly that. I had visited before and tried a few different po'boys to go, and they were great, but this time I decided to stay and watch the Saints game. That completely changed the experience for me. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for--Saints fans, good energy, football on the TVs, New Orleans food, and a crowd that was actually invested in the game. It felt like a legitimate gathering spot for the Who Dat Nation rather than simply a restaurant that happens to show football. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and once again, the po'boys delivered. It's hard to beat watching the Saints with other fans while eating a good New Orleans-style po'boy hundreds of miles away from Louisiana. What I appreciate most is that The Po'Boy Shop gives Saints fans around Atlanta a place that actually feels like our spot on game day. Win or lose, that kind of atmosphere makes watching the game more enjoyable. Good food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. And plenty of Saints energy. I'll absolutely be back--especially on game days--and highly recommend The Po'Boy Shop to anyone looking for New Orleans-style food or fellow Saints fans searching for a home away from the Dome in the Atlanta area. The selection was OK, but I was expecting more. I continued to walk around to the other half of the place that was more like a local traditional market. It looked like it would be a good quick substitute for one of the big supermarkets. I wasn't really super impressed, but I am sure it is convenient for the local residents.
