Kiedrowski's Bakery, located in Amherst, Ohio, has been on my want to visit list for a long time. I…read morefinally got the chance when I was already in the area one Saturday afternoon in August 2026. There isn't a ton of parking available as it is in a small strip mall. I waited about 5 minutes in line 6 people long and decided on what to order from their dozens upon dozens of yummy looking options while waiting. I was a bit put off from the politically charged things inside but minded my own business and ordered a lemon white chocolate cookie ($0.75) to eat now and one of their famous Polish pastries, a "Snoogle", to take home and eat later ($4). A Snoogle is a polish puff pastry with cream cheese and a vanilla butter bean glaze that was invented and patented here! They also sell lots and lots of packzi's during Fat Tuesday every year as well. Cookie was a bit dry but it was cheap and a small enough serving to not feel sinful. The snoogle was definitely worth making a pit stop for! It is a very unique pastry amd it is also massive - bigger than my forearm for sure. It is a very messy treat so don't eat it in your car. I loved this pastry and can see why it is so famous! If you find yourself in small town Lorain County, it's worth stopping at this bakery and trying a snoggle or something else yourself! They also sell scented candles of their baked goods and fresh bread loaves as well.

Buckeye Bakery - The Sweetest Shark Attack in Mansfield…read more Wandered into Buckeye Bakery on a mission for donuts... and walked out like a sugary Santa Claus. I picked up a dozen-mix of joy: Long Johns, glazed classics, cinnamon rolls (the kind that whisper "just like Mom used to make"), and pecan rolls that should come with a warning label: "May cause spontaneous joy." Dropped them off with friends and boom--gone in two days, like a Netflix binge with frosting. High praise was given. Teeth were thanked. Waistbands were stretched. But I didn't stop there. Oh no. I went full dessert diplomat and made a fast-follow with peanut butter cookies and some shark cookies, because hey--it's Shark Week, and nothing says "celebrating apex predators" like chomping into one made of sugar and love. Verdict: Donuts: Fluffy, fresh, and clearly baked by folks who take their carbs seriously. Cookies: Delicious and festive--like eating a holiday. Vibe: Old-school bakery charm with new-school treat game. Next time I'm in Mansfield, I'm diving back in. Sharks beware. I bite back.

My. Lord. First off, I'm not from here and took the Yelp…read morereviews to mean good breakfast and man, were they correct. I showed up, told the wonderful women behind the counter that I'm not from here (TX here on a 6 month job), that I have zero idea what anything is in their display case because nothing in Dallas looks this good and just pick me 6 of the best things they have. 3 of the 6 never made it back to my jobsite that's 10 minutes away. The raspberry Danish, the deep fried glazed ball of heaven and the chop suey never stood a chance in the truck with me. When I did make it back, my local subcontractor looked at the box, KNEW I went to Buckeye Bakery and said "You did good". Overall, they're about to make me gain 20 pounds and lose all my money. Thanks, I guess.
