Dangerously delicious. I had a sandwich that made me question every life decision I made before walking in. The pizza crust is the perfect balance of chewy and crisp, the bagels are legit (New Yorkers might actually nod in approval), and the pastries? Let's just say I may have blacked out halfway through a cinnamon roll. If you're not here yet, you're missing out. If you are, order extra--you'll thank yourself later.

In homage to the Girl Scout cookie - a Samoa Cronut that has all the buttery layers of a croissant with the springy chewiness of a donut, coated in tiny flecks of coconut adhered with delicate fresh-made caramel and a chocolate drizzle. It's divine! Also extraordinary: a classic cinnamon roll covered in a generous layer of buttery cream cheese frosting, every bit as satisfying as homemade, without the hassle. For here or there, a Brown Butter Cookie with chocolate chips the consistency of s'more's and a healthy sprinkle of sea salt that's crunchy and surprising in the best way. The space is minimal without feeling cold, with indoor workspace opening to a large landscaped patio. Don't forget the coffee - full circle, it's very good here.

I CANNOT BRAG ON THIS ENOUGH! There is a touch of balsamic that brightens the strawberry. The sprig of thyme is beautiful as well as tasty. I thought this might be a sweet pastry, but it's actually savory, in the very best way. The pastry is so flaky and crisp. My dreams will be full of this for years to come. Now let me get to the latte. It was SO RICH AND SMOOTH!!!! I got a sugar-free-vanilla latte--expecting nothing special. It was the best cup of joe I've had in a long time! I love to drink the foam so I removed the lid and was surprised to see the adorable art. This place is TASTY! If I'm ever back in Topeka, I can't wait to come back.

The staff are friendly, efficient, and well versed in their products. Some of the furniture could use a refresh (some of the upholstered chairs are looking worn) but overall the decor is pleasant and the entire facility is clean, clean, clean! I often order a hot tea with a savory pastry, but if you're looking for something special, the Mont Blanc pastry and the pistachio matcha latte are very popular. On one recent visit, my friend ordered the apricot pastry, and I got an ube donut and a mushroom tart. So good! The cream under the apricot was so light and fluffy. The combination of long open hours, friendly staff, and very fresh pastries makes this shop an essential spot in west Lawrence.

I gave the twist a three average because that's how they tasted. They weren't glazed twist, they were baked and sprinkled with sugar and maybe some cinnamon. They weren't "the donut" I was used to. They weren't too sweet, which was good, but they really didn't taste like a doughnut it was more like sweet bread.
