I can be wrong, but that's what the building looked like! The space itself is very, very small. Pre-Pandemic, they may only have space for 1 table of 2-4. Only 1 person is allowed inside to order. And when I visited, there was already 1 man ordering and a small line forming behind me. It seem like a very popular spot...and for good reason! The smell emanating from this bakery is about right...BUTTER. Really takes you back to any European city. Taste instantly transports you there too! Thank God this place is quite a distance from me. Otherwise, my waistline would be in double trouble, lockdown + delicious pastries.

Tried a strawberry filled donut (excellent), a honey glazed yeast donut (very good), and a cardamom bun (good - dough seemed a little overworked). Americano was standard good. Parking is challenging, so be prepared to drive around and then walk a bit. No inside or sidewalk seating as far as I could tell, so take out only. Parks nearby to enjoy the food and coffee if you don't live in the neighborhood. Definitely worth the minor inconveniences.

The staff is super friendly and I appreciate the loyalty cards for coffee and bread. The bakery itself is small but so quaint being in an old historical house. If you haven't tried With the Grain, you're missing out on a Guelph experience.

I placed my order and she happily had it delivered to my niece and her family in Guelph and they were delighted. Yesterday was my brother's birthday and as he lives alone, I again called Csilla and asked if they could deliver a cake to Kitchener. Csilla asked exactly where he lived and answered; no problem. He was not only surprised, but he said the cake was absolutely delicious and it made his day. No fun having a birthday in isolation. I can't tell you how much this means to me. This small gesture from me and this huge impact from Sweet Temptations made several people very happy and that's what it's all about during these times. Kindness and Thoughtfulness. Thank you, Csilla. I will drop by one day and thank you personally. Andrea Thompson

Their bread is very very fresh and I especially love that you can purchase a whole loaf of marble rye bread. Their sweets are delicious and very comforting. Don't expect anything fancy but you can definitely expect home-style, decent desserts if you are having a sweet craving. They also have a deli section and they have quite a variety of meats. They also have ready made sandwiches, dips occasionally, etc. in their fridge section. I've tried their ready made sandwiches but ultimately went onto buy my own bread and deli stuff there and made my own sandwiches because I realized that I'm a weirdo and do not like any form of sauce, butter, spread (ie: mayo) on my sandwiches and a lot of sandwiches are prepared that way. But this place is a lot more fresh than your average grocery store and it isn't very expensive either. Their little desserts may be a little pricy but they are well worth it. Apple strudel is also good too and reasonably priced.
