Unreliable Unprofessional…read more Doesn't listen to details Plays games Don't waste your time!

Pam Biller is the owner of AllWays Travel. She was hired by a professional photographer from the…read moreUSA to run a photo safari trip to Kenya Africa which included 14 guests. I went on this trip, and paid my first deposit 15 months before departure, which seemed like plenty of time for the trip to be well organized. It turns out she is compensated for every trip, and I believe only continues this business to get free trips. She is terribly disorganized, scattered, forgetful and simply awful at this job. She hired a Kenya-based field guide, and photographer Alankar Chandra who runs a Kenya-based travel agency called Wild Voyager, he, is, in my opinion, a scammer, who entirely failed to provide any photographic instruction to me whatsoever. He is rebuilding a lodge, and spent virtually all of his time working on that project, rather than offering the group who was paying him for photographic instruction any teaching. Double dipping is the term that comes to mind. I will review him separately, but it is important to note she hired a photographer/field guide for this trip to offer extra instruction, who entirely failed at doing so. He was never in my vehicle, and for the few times he was in a vehicle, guests report that he spent the entire time on his phone texting, sometimes taking photos with his camera but never offering instructions, unless explicitly asked a question. The only instruction I understood he did, was teach the travel agent (by herself) night sky photography, one night, none of the paying clients were included or offered this instruction. Pam's communications via email and phone were full of incomplete information, for example she said she had Kenya Airways tickets reserved, in December 2021, but we didn't actually receive the tickets until right before the trip, and had to mail her a check for the tickets, (taking a week) no credit cards were accepted. Then it took several more weeks to get the seat assignments. She never told my friend and I that the group was staying at the TWA hotel in NY the night before departure, we had booked a different hotel completely unaware of that. She promised porters would meet us after the breakfast meeting at the TWA hotel, but no porters were present and we all had to lug our own luggage to the gate, which wasn't easy considering we expected porters. We were promised Bush Breakfasts at 9 am after leaving the hotels very early in the morning. Bush breakfasts were shown online as having a table and chairs out in the field. What we got was a box of cold food, including a hard boiled egg, a small grocery store type yogurt, an apple, orange, and a few pieces of bread, which was flavorless, sometimes fried and pretty awful. Couldn't eat the apple, as only eating foods we could peel for safety. We ate those sad boxes with the box on the hood of the vehicles, no tables or chairs in site. Photos are attached. No coffee was brought along either!!! Not hard to put coffee in a few thermoses. The group as a whole basically had to complain bitterly to get breakfast upgraded, the upgrade then included a cheese sandwich, which wasn't helpful to the guests who had asked to avoid dairy due to allergy. A cold grilled cheese sandwich isn't really my image of an upgrade either, especially at the prices we were paying. Another example of disorganization was when leaving the first hotel in Amboseli and traveling to the next site, Samburu National Park, we were told at dinner to bring our luggage in the morning to the reception area. Then after dinner the plans suddenly changed we all had to immediately pack and deliver our bags to reception that night! After the group revolted about the quality of breakfast we had one true bush breakfast with eggs made and served with coffee and multiple other items. But it was one breakfast! All the rest were the sad box breakfast. Another egregious example of terrible planning was informing the group that on the plane ride from Amboseli to Samburu National Park that we did not need our camera bags. I brought my camera bag as I wanted to take some photos from the air. The field guide, Alankar scoffed at me for bringing my camera and said I wouldn't get any good shots from the plane. Well, I sat behind him on the flight, and who took photos from the plane? He did! When we arrived at the Samburu airstrip, we had rides to the hotel which ended up taking a couple hours, and no luggage was at the airstrip!! This caused a lot of anger amongst the group, including our lead photographer, as very few people had their camera equipment, and we saw many new and interesting animals. We were supposed to go on a safari ride when we got to the hotel, but when we arrived there it was too late to go out as parks close at 6pm so all those guests lost a big opportunity for good photos. Pam said should use the iPhone! Didn't bring thousands of dollars of equipment to use iPhones!! I could elaborate but I think my point has been made.

Today it *poured* down rain, and I went in with a letter ready to go, stamp and all. I said, "will this go out today?", in a cheery tone. The man (the usual miserable lout) answered with attitdue, "um, yes, AFTER I put additional postage on it!". I had no idea why he said this nor what he meant, but he did not offer an explanation; just threw it up the scale and....silence. Then he asked, "what's in this?" Now keep in mind, this was a letter in a stationary envelope. I said, "a letter?" Finally, I asked why I needed to pay 20 cents more than the already-expensive postage stamp I came with and he said "because it won't go through the machine." Now, my letter was by NO means overly-thick. It was a few pages, folded over. Really, mailed similar things -- a million times -- before. So I asked "can't we just smoosh it, to make it flatter?" He remarked, "dear, either you put it in a bigger envelope or pay the 20 cents." I had no money on me, so had to run out back to my car, in the pouring, crazy rain. Soaked, I paid the 20 cents to another person there and verified that my letter would be sent out the very same day. Anyway, I'm really just sick and tired of going there, happy-go-lucky and old-fashioned, with my hand-written letters, just to have people who have personal issues and bad attitudes take my money. Further, on a separate occasion, the very same gentleman told me that having a tracking number ONLY means that you know it got there, in the end. He had no idea, as I offered to explain -- twice -- that with tracking numbers, you can see all the little sorting facilities and places your parcel visits. When I was leaving, and his co-worker was letting me out of the door, she said "I know what you meant about the tracking number, he's not all with it when it comes to things like that." WHAT?? You work there, man! So, I got a beef with the Towson post office. I hold my nose at them -- P.U.

Then I found Turkey Hill Ice cream Experience only 30min away from Lancaster, and decided to visit. We bought the double scoop experience (comes with ice cream test lab) and obviously that was the highlight of the place! The test lab is about 45min experience and the whole thing with self-guided tour takes about 1hr 30min to 2 hours depending how crowded it is. The visit was fun and of course my 5-year-old daughter had a great time eating tons of ice cream!

Admission prices are reasonable, and who doesnt love unlimited samples of iced tea, and lemonade, icecream on a hot day. Vistors have a choice between one scoop, two scoop, or three scoop attraction. I choose one scoop; hilights of my visit- learning history of Turkey Hill, process of icecream being made, creating a virtual icecream flavor, watching the production , live from interactive camera in one of the exhibits. Be sure to take the few moments, to watch the introduction video. My favorite ice cream sample flavors were Graham Slam & Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake. An attraction must, well visiting Lancaster, PA. My recommendation would be too sell a few more flavors that you offer , with unlimited tastings. My favorite was orange icedtea.
