Nothing really good to say about these people if they work with your insurance. You can be proactive even when you have an approval with your insurance company and they still won't get you booked in time and no response to texts for days or call back when you leave voicemail. Just a horrible experience adding stress when you're already dealing with a stressful situation. STAY AWAY if you can! read more

Beware landlords, CRS refuses to deliver a letter of financial responsibility on their clients behalf. Every single other insurance company I've worked with readily provides this without even being prompted. I also found them to be very unresponsive and difficult to connect with. It's a shame all around, their client my potential tenant loved the home and wanted to move in immediately as he was in a less than desirable hotel. I even tried to work with CRS on terms and find something that would work for all parties involved. They would not budge and continued to try to persuade me into a contract that left me no protection or recourse for failures to pay rent or damages. read more

They were pretty good to me when I was displaced by a tornado and helped out after I had an issue with my security deposit. They got us a pet friendly hotel the night we were hit than moved us to a closer one. My landlord was difficult with the lease extension they got us through that. My landlord was also difficult with the security deposit (my responsibility as per my policy) and they were informative after my file was closed. read more

Terrible experience. They picked up the furniture and then billed me $400 to clean a rug. There were not stains and I asked for a picture saying it may have been damaged after pick up. We barely even used the items. You pay what they say to pay, or they ruin your credit. Extorsion. read more

We experienced a total loss fire in our home. Insurance told us a CRS agent would call asap.. they never did.. I called back the following day and finally was able to get them to book us into a decant extended stay hotel. they told us they should have a rental in a week. We got no response by them when emailing, texting or calling. I finally got a hold of the guy assigned to us, and he says "cant you just board your dogs til the house is fixed" board my 9 year old dogs who just went through a tragic event for a year?!?! Our house and everything it is is GONE. The only "requirements" we had where pet friendly, prefer a fenced yard and a bedroom on the first floor. FAR under what our house was.. Nothing fancy just a home base to operate from while we rebuild. The first "house" was a townhouse. with 3rd floor bedrooms. My dogs don't know how to climb stairs and they sleep on the floor of the bedroom and would cry all night in that situation. I asked some questions and the guy said I don't know.. just call the landlord and gave me her number.. when I called her, she said "Why are you calling me with these questions.. I told them I needed more information before agreeing to allow the rental." The second place was extremely rundown and over the boarder into the next state over.. and in a VERY bad neighborhood.. High crime, high drug use.. NO... I finally had it between them and insurance being incompetent and hired a public adjuster, and found my own rental. They then "required" everything go through them.. So, after eating through 20k-25k in hotel fees we are in a rental.. They delivered furniture with no invoice, no communication on what exactly we where supposed to get, or how much this is costing.. Are they charging hundreds a month for Walmart furniture? This whole process is tragic enough.. I feel like everyone insurance has sent to "help" has just felt like pouring salt into an open wound. my recommendation is if you experience a situation where your home becomes uninhabitable save yourself the trouble and find a rental on your own. In a case like ours where you need furnishings it might be a better option to request an advance on your contents settlement and get the essentials you are able to move back to the new house and use Craigslist and facebook marketplace to find cheap or free stuff that you wouldn't want to replace until your homes is fixed. (for us, we don't want to buy living room stuff until we are sure what the new layout would be and the room in the rental is not nearly as large as ours so a sofa set wouldn't make sense. do what ever you can to keep this companies hands out of your limited claim. I know we will be in a bad position towards the end of our construction of our home strictly because of this companies incompetence. read more

CRS Temporary Housing is a complete FRAUD! I lost my home in a fire and my insurance company told me that I had to use CRS. BIG MISTAKE! I wish I had known now that I could have gone to my insurance company and demanded another option. CRS is terrible! Basically, they had no knowledge of the area that I live in Austin TX, somehow they were unable to find me housing (in a huge rental market), so I had to find it myself. Once I found my own housing, CRS did everything imaginable to stand in the way of it working out. The specialist actually told me "You should just stay in the hotel for 6 months, it would be easier"! BEWARE- Allstate referred me to this company to help me with temporary housing while my house was being rebuilt. NIGHTMARE from the start- These people are not your advocates, communication is horrible. This company has cost me money due to their own miscommunication. Too much to write. Last Summer we had a terrible flood in our home and required temporary housing. Our insurance company recommended CRS and from the moment they contacted me I was amazed at their outstanding customer service, care and concern for our well being after having been displaced. We were temporarily out of our home for over six months during which time the wonderful people at CRS checked in on us often, to make sure we were doing well and if we needed to change our housing or make a move they worked so quickly and diligently our entire stay outside of our home seemed seemless. We are grateful for all their efforts on our behalf and will always refer anyone we know to them because we will be sure they will be given the same consistently outstanding service we received. Very poor customer service, no one wants to call you back, if you leave a message for one person, someone else calls you back a week later and says that person is no longer handling your account (we worked with like 10 people). Then they give the excuse due to Covid for everything. We had a house fire and needed just a little bit of furniture, went to the web site they told us to and looked at the furniture, picked out just a few things we needed. When we told them what we wanted they said due to Covid we could not get that, they would deliver us something similar. Took time off for the delivery. When truck finally arrived, it was not our stuff, they had to call around to find our truck, now I had to take the rest of the day off of work. When they brought the crap in to the house I called CRS and told them the furniture was junk, it was broken ripped and stained and the old TV did not even work. They said due to Covid that is all they had and they are aware it had issues. When we were done with the furniture it was again a shit show to get it picked up and then they tell us we owe because there were stains on the couch. We did not put stains on the couch, the couches were dirty when we got them. They looked and smelt like they were in the back of a warehouse for years. We put blankets on them to sit on them, there were no new stains. Now their extremely rude collection Manager CORINNE WEINBERGER, tells us we owe money. When talking to her, she yelled at me, would not listen to me, even hung up on me. They did not even have the common curtesy at the beginning to say this is what was sent to us. They just had their RUDE collections department send an email. Now they say if we don't pay for something we did not do we are sent to a collection agency CORINNE even said it will ruin your credit, but if you give me your credit card we can take care of it right now. read more

THE WORST. DO NOT USE THEM. IF YOUR INSURANCE ALLOWS YOU TO USE SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE DO!!!!!! I had a flood at my condo and liberty mutual (also terrible) told me i HAD to use this company (lie). They booked THE MOST EXPENSIVE ROOM, knowing i had limited coverage for a hotel. The room was exponentially cheaper on expedia, and they spent WAY more than my coverage so I found out after being told "everything was taken care of" that I actually could only stay there for FOUR DAYS and they told me I was there and covered for 2 weeks. When I asked them to reimburse me for the difference in cost of the first three nights they said no and then removed their credit card from the hotel so that I had to pay. read more

Dealing with a flood in our vacation home was not something we were planning on, but CRS Temporary Housing made finding a rental during the remodel process a true pleasure. They made it very easy for us to find a rental. The thing that blew us away was shortly after we began working with CRS a large wooden box was delivered to our primary residence. It was from the CRS staff and it contained all kinds of gourmet culinary goodies (crackers, cheeses, sausages, etc.)! Talk about going above and beyond! A very pleasant experience indeed! read more

Despite our home fire and the loss of family members CRS services were unempathecitc and rude. The employees there frequently pushed us to sign documents without fully explaining what they were, and demand that we leave the temporary home they have placed us in, despite our home repairs being incomplete. They would rather see you homeless than work with you or come up with some type of solution and reasoning with them is impossible. read more

CRS was obstructionist to our temporary relocation process. Same deal as the other reviewer- we had a ruptured plumbing system that necessitated our move to a temporary house. Our insurer, Chubb, assigned us to CRS who was obtain temporary housing on our behalf. CRS failed to originate any suitable housing options; they had no working knowledge of the geography of Dallas/ areas in the city in which we asked them to search. I ended up locating many options and securing a home ( as our move out deadline rapidly approached). Our CRS agent then bogarted the lease agreement for the temporary house (the one we had to sign) and tried to carve out of role for herself in reviewing it. In short, they were of negative utility/value in the process. That they've convinced insurance companies to involve them in the process is a joke. read more

If your insurance agent tries to work with this company, immediately decline! I was told over the phone for a Monday delivery and waited all day for it. At 6pm I called and left a message. I received a callback telling me they are scheduled for tomorrow instead. No courtesy call or notice was given for the delayed delivery. They paid the rent on time for my tenants but more than that, completely useless. I had vendors drive up on my lawn to front porch to unload rental furniture. Upon doing so, damaged property. CRS did not handle this problem in a productive manner. The tenants still owe us money from the damage/clean-up and CRS have washed their hands of helping me recover the additional costs of cleaning up the house. I'm sure now they did not screen these people and have no desire in helping me recover the outstanding money owed. We had a water leak that displaced us for 2 months. It was painful, but CRS made sure we got though the rough patch. They were in a tough spot due to unfamiliarity with the local are, but were sympathetic to the needs my family had. The first few suggestions wouldn't work logistically, but then after I made a suggestion of a particular home they saw the process through all the way. They check on us several times to make certain all was well with the rental. Appreciate all they helped us with and we had a wonderful family Thanksgiving because of their efforts. The woman refuses to speak to me by phone, refuses to comply with her rental agreement, the company refuses to get her to comply but has wasted my time with nearly 50 calls and emails. She tried to push to stay for an indefinite period and is now acting out because she couldn't get her way. I am going to the police and having to get a lawyer because I made the mistake of letting CRS place their client. Their personnel are inexperienced about property or any legal matters. If their clients ruin your home, you'll have to go after them yourselves. read more

I literally made a Yelp account just to leave this review. Screw CRS. I did all the work after being thrown out of my apartment for 7 months after a fire left the entire building uninhabitable due to extensive smoke and water damage. I found my own hotel near my unlivable residence. I found my own apartment (again, near my old residence since I was trying to keep some sense of normalcy in my life) and went through the entire leasing process myself. And now, I've had the absolute nightmare that is rental furniture through CRS. As others have mentioned, the furniture is disgusting. My furniture was also 4 days late, for which they provided zero explanation. I actually requested that I have no couches delivered since the apartment I rented was very small. I asked for a desk instead so I could be able to do my work. Instead they delivered TWO couches and no desk. Everything looks like it's straight out of the 80s. The bed sheets are terrible quality and look like something that my racist aunt would have on her bed. If I was only being displaced for a few weeks, I'd tough it out, but seeing as I'm spending the better part of year with my life flipped upside down, I refuse to put up with this garbage. I've already lost my home and most of my possessions, like hell I'm letting CRS sh*t all over me. I'm contacting my insurance provider tomorrow and requesting that funds are allocated to me and demanding that CRS is cut out of the picture. I have no idea how it will go, but it's worth a shot to have some damn peace after being through out of my home in 35 degree weather at 6 in the morning due to a raging fire. read more

CRS does not care about people. Suffice it to say that CRS is a terrible company. They did not do anything to secure housing for me after I lost my house. I had to do all the leg work spending hours scrolling craigslist and following up on leads I got from property managers here locally. They told me I could not rent a vacation rental. Those properties are managed, well cared for, furnished, and clean when you move in. Out of desperation after 5 weeks I found a house from a private party on Craigslist a 40 minute commute one way. The landlord promised she was making all these improvements before I moved in. I moved in @ dusk and nothing had been done. CRS's response to my complaint was this "you signed the lease, it's your problem". The furniture that was delivered was cheap, broken down, stained, scratched and smelled of cigarette smoke. The cheapest of hotels has better furnishings. CRS is robbing the insurance companies when they tell them they provide a service. If you get assigned CRS, DEMAND that your insurance company change that!! read more

My family used this company through our home insurance after a fire. They rented furniture for us since we did not have any. We had been out of our home for 1 and 1/2 years. They picked up the furniture on 10/31. The movers kicked holes in the furniture and shoved everything they could into the truck and then had to call a 2nd truck because they didn't have enough room. Today we get a call from Tim at CRS that they charging us $500.00 to clean the cheap couch and love seat. The love seat and couch can be bought at a local chain furniture store for about $400.00. The pictures of the returned furniture showed dog hair. We were told at the beginning of this process that they clean the furniture between each use. When my husband asked Tim don't you clean the furniture in between rentals he said yes. My husband then said why are you charging me to clean it. Tim quickly said goodbye and hung up. After a pipe burst in our home and water drained for days while we were on vacation, we needed to find temporary housing right away. Our insurance company, Farmer's, assigned us to a contact at CRS who was supposed to help us find a place to stay. I emailed them several potential properties that I had researched myself and they promised they would look into them. When I didn't hear from them the next day (we were supposed to move asap) I emailed and they assured me they were looking into it. The next day they assigned me to a "level 2" specialist since inventory was hard to find, but that person did not even try to contact me for two days after. I ended up booking a place myself on Air BnB -- it was one of the properties I had sent them and the person renting it got back to me within 30 minutes of me emailing them. My experience was CRS was less than helpful -- it was a total waste of my time. read more
