I go here practically daily and I am shocked at the reviews here. I have never had an issue and I have some pretty esoteric requests at times. They have carried things to my car, helped me plan out homeschool projects when our kids were little, crafted solutions for me for bizarre problems (ie - I need something with a lid to house water and a pump for my irrigation) and they even helped me when I tripped during construction. I've never experienced what others have here and dont know what I would do without this incredible local gem. read more

Service was extremely rude. Very poor attitude towards customers I visited once when I first moved to Crozet. Went to buy a US flag. I asked if it was made in the US and the guy exploded on me and told me to go elsewhere. That was 14 years ago and I've never been back since. I've personally seen them yell at an old lady that was going to the pharmacy next door because she parked in "their" designated spot. Our philosophy has always been to support the locals even if their price is 15-20% above the big box stores but not when they're rude. read more

I live out of town but have family in Crozet. Whenever I visit it seems I also made a couple trips to Crozet Hardware. It's a great small town hardware store with everything you need for DYI projects. Always friendly and helpful. read more

I like this store and have made a point of giving it my business but, some of their employees are just plain stupid. The last time I was in the store, the fellow behind the counter did not have a mask on, It was around his neck. I asked him to put on his mask and he did. I was in the store today and that same employee, who had been helping someone in the back of the store, came walking down the center isle with no mask on. If I had seen him before I paid for my purchasers, I would have walked out right then. i said something about it to the man behind the counter and he said, "It's hard to enforce." I said, "He is your employee." He shrugged. Che Covid pandemic will have to be long over before I set foot back in that store. read more

Old fashioned hardware store. A gem in the middle of crozet. Very helpful and friendly people work there and are always very knowledgeable with any questions or advice on finding help for any project. I would highly recommend this store and though it may cost a little more it is well worth it. Service and store like this are very hard to find these days. read more

I have been a customer for decades. I am done. I was sold an incorrect part. The dark haired employee had not cross checked the part reference guide. This error did not have to have a bad outcome. Instead of apologizing he double downed and he and his co worker said they always cross check. I was there. He did not. I indicated I felt mislead/ripped off. No sincere response. I returned days later and handed the employee the part. I had no use for it. No offer for any refund. I told him he had lost a customer. His sarcastic response indicated to me he didn't care. Unfortunate. Buying local is not worth it when customer service and prices are not great. read more

This is a classic old school hardware store. They have clerks who know the goods, they help with repairs. You want cheap Chinese crap, go to Home depot, if you want quality goods and staff stop here read more

I'm being forced to give a star in order to make this long-winded review... they don't deserve this star. Wishing it was possible to give them a "minus five stars"!!! Worst experience ever as a customer in a store. There were two gentlemen working...the older, more gray haired man actually deserves three stars for his help in finding the overpriced item...and it was him who finally rang me up. My issue is with the other employee whom refused to stop chatting with a beautiful, female customer who was also purchasing items. Although only a fraction of the time was spent actually assisting her, the remainder of the time was spent talking for several minutes. I had to stand at the register, waiting five minutes to get rang up whilst the other man just talked. Apparently he can't multitask...it was very clear that he was thinking with his little head instead of the head on his shoulders. I'll never return, which is unfortunate because my whole intention was to support small, local businesses and I was aware that the price would be higher than Lowes but I wasn't anticipating that huge of price increase. Utterly disappointed! read more
