    Cinnamon roll

We stopped here on the way to drop my mother-in-law off at the airport, thinking we'd have a nice breakfast together before she left. Unfortunately, it turned into a really disappointing experience. We were seated within about 5 minutes and got our drinks right away, so things started off great. Then it took 20 minutes just to place our food order. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll, the Dual, and the Crow's Nest Combo. The person taking our order didn't seem to know the menu and needed us to explain what came with our meals so she knew what questions to ask. For my Crow's Nest Combo, I asked for a few substitutions: berry compote and lemon anglaise for my French toast, hash browns instead of eggs, and crispy bacon as my protein. I specifically asked if all of that was doable and was told yes. I completely expected there could be upcharges and was fine paying them, but the way she told me there would be an upcharge was unnecessarily rude. After another 25 minutes, our food finally came out--and the orders still weren't right. The cinnamon roll, as my mother-in-law put it, looked sad. The Dual came with hash browns it apparently wasn't supposed to have, so I guess that was a bonus. My Crow's Nest Combo was supposed to come with two slices of French toast but only had one, and instead of hash browns and bacon, I received eggs and hash browns. When I pointed out that my order was wrong, instead of checking it or offering to correct anything, she immediately became defensive and told me it was correct and that I just needed to swap food with the other person at our table. Except... we had both ordered bacon, so that didn't even make sense. What really bothered me was that there was no apology whatsoever and no attempt to correct the order. Not even a simple "I'm sorry, let me see what happened." Just defensiveness and an insistence that what we received was correct. By that point, we had somewhere we needed to be. We had already considered leaving before the food arrived, and when it finally did, we had to immediately ask for boxes and take everything to go without even eating breakfast there. From walking in to leaving, we spent nearly an hour there and didn't even get to enjoy our meal. I'm used to breakfast places getting you in, fed, and out within 30-40 minutes, especially when they aren't slammed. And one last note: if you're looking for a good spicy Bloody Mary, I'd skip it here. Mine wasn't spicy and had actual chunks of garlic floating in it. Mistakes happen. Restaurants get busy. Orders get entered incorrectly. That's not what makes me leave a bad review. It's how those mistakes are handled. An apology and an offer to fix the order would have gone a long way. Instead, what was supposed to be a nice breakfast with my mother-in-law before taking her to the airport ended with us leaving frustrated, carrying food we hadn't even had time to eat. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return based on this experience.

The food was better fresh. We came on mother's day and it wasn't as good. This was much better. Service was good! Will be back.

After 7 nights of cruise food, we were ready to try something new and local. Sharp's was only 5 minutes from our hotel, and highly rated, so I figured we would give it a shot. We arrived at the restaurant to a full parking lot with people standing outside. However, when we went in, the wonderful hostess informed us there was no wait. The seater showed us to our table, and chatted with us about our day along the way. He also explained the 3 menus that he gave us, and informed us we were right in time for happy hour. Our server, Sam, greeted us promptly, and she was so incredibly welcoming to our family, answering questions about the menu items. It was so hard to decide what to order, so we ordered several small plates (Brisket nachos, Wings, Brisket tacos, fries, and mac and cheese, along with the complimentary cornbread). To our surprise, everything came out so quickly. This was probably the fastest service I've ever had at a restaurant. The servers who delivered our food were friendly and welcoming as well. Not only that, EVERYTHING we ate was phenomenal. The fries were flavorful and perfectly salted, the wings were fantastic, and the brisket nachos? Wow....the brisket was some of the best we've ever had, and the nacho chips even stood out. The biggest compliment is from our 15 year old who said that the mac and cheese is some of the best pasta she's ever had. Throughout the whole meal, Sam was so attentive and chatting with us about the restaurant and dessert options. I truly enjoyed everything about our experience. The food and service both were top notch. The only thing I didn't like about this restaurant is that I'll have to book another flight to Seattle from Michigan to eat there. I'll be recommending it to everyone I know though!

UPDATE: 3/24/26... As a Yelp Elite member for 6 years, I…read morepride myself in giving fair reviews, whether good or bad. And with the bad, I strive to be positive on the experience that was good before giving suggestions or letting the owner know what fell short. I'm never out to bash a business. Rather, as an owner, if you pride yourself in customer service, you will take what a sincere Yelp Elite reviewer has to say, step back and see how you can improve. I just read the comments another reviewer posted a few days ago and saw that they were berated as well. I had nothing to gain from giving the review I did and it's unfortunate that you're no longer going to be in business, but there were two other people with me that came to this consensus. With that, I will reply to the unfortunate remarks slammed at me, the reviewer. Let me preface by saying I asked for a pic with the owner before tea service started. If it was said that we had a wonderful and lovely time, it was not by me but one of my friends who, when asked how everything was, couldn't think of anything else to say. Also, I wasn't going to express all of this in front of the owner at the time because I had others with me. So, to rebel and ask me if my mother is still alive and did she teach me to behave like this? Well, all I can say is your reaponse as a business owner is extremely childish and unprofessional. I didn't make the food. I reviewed it and if that means it's not the best review, so be it. It pains me not to give a business owner a good review because that's not what we as Elite members strive for. That said, lashing out is not the answer. At least I have the maturity and diplomacy to put these comments in without getting into a mud fight like you chose to do. Review..... My two girlfriends and I came here for afternoon tea. Since I'm the Yelp reviewer, I asked them for their input and so it was a consensus of the three of us. Here's what went right. It was nice to have a carafe of water at our table, there were beautiful flowers and dyed water to match in the vase, the teacups and saucers were very pretty, the owner was extremely nice. Here's what we thought needed a second look. The sign in the store advertised cheese and fruit for the afternoon tea but it didn't appear. When we asked we were told it didn't come with it but we could get some if we wanted. Please revise the sign as people do notice. Suggest you have a selection of three sandwiches rather than two of each. One was a small croissant filled with egg salad and if we hadn't been told that we thought it might be chicken. The other was a cucumber sandwich which although it's nice to have thin slices of cucumber, these were razor thin. Sort of disappointing that there was so little on a beautiful piece of bread. They scones were nothing special. Perhaps have something inside whether it be cranberry, currant etc. The sweets consisted of a Mexican wedding cake which was rather dry and was there a detection of almond extract? The orange macaron, as beautiful as it was, lacked flavor of orange. I was expecting a nice burst of something but it just wasn't there. The fondant on the petit four was much too thick, and sweet. Whatever fashion the raspberry is used, keep a bit of that tart flavor to offset the sweetness from the fondant. The effort was there, things just felt short.

The outside was nice too as you could enjoy the weather in a relaxing patio area with nature, manicured green grass, trees, with the sounds of the trickling fountain. They also had a bar area for that very casual, louder vibe to just talk and/or catch a game on the TV. We went with the dining area and Julissa was our server and she took very good care of us. She was courteous, attentive, and thoughtful. She recommended a few of her favorites when we asked her for suggestions. Charcoal Grilled Pork Chop: coconut-ginger braised collard greens, grilled spring onion, pork jus, wasabi butter (4/5). The Double cut portion was cooked to medium. It was tender, juicy, and the juices had a sweetness to it. The wasabi butter was good and not overpowering. I'd order this again. Superfood Salad: white bean hummus, quinoa, kale, carrots, blueberries, golden berries, cashews, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, avocado, herbs, feta, lemon-sesame vinaigrette (4/5). My wife really enjoyed her salad. I admit it was full of good ingredients but a tad bit heavy-handed on the dressing. Don't get me wrong the vinaigrette was delicious. Banana Bread Pudding (5/5) - Moist, crisp on the edges, and smothered in warm caramel sauce - this decadent bread pudding paired with vanilla ice cream was absolute perfection! We'd definitely come back the next time we're in the area. Support your local business.

Upon entering we were greeted by a gracious hostess, Sheeta. She was very welcoming, patient and kind while seating us. Jenn and I were seated and placed our beverage orders with Sheeta. I wanted to try their bloody mary; I've never had one...and, after that one, I don't plan on having another ever! It's really not a drink flavor genre I'm partial to. Our waitress Shelly took our order, I can honestly say I've absofreakinlutely had better customer service. Jenn ordered biscuits and gravy and an order of country fried steak and eggs to go. Once she stated her request Shelly asked for her order specifics in a stem quiz like manner. That threw me off so when she turned to me I said "Gimme a minute so I can study for the quiz!" I thought it was funny, so did Jenn...Shelly simply walked away. Eventually she returned and I ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with country style potatoes. My platter wasn't eat-worthy in my most honest, humble opinion and I did try to doctor it up a bit but there's only so much you can do in critical condition. The potatoes were hit and miss...literally; one bite of potato would be just right and the next bite would be luke warm or not fully cooked through. I'm addition I was going to pick between hotcakes and french toast, after choosing between country potatoes or hash browns for my burrito dish she said thanks and swiftly walked away. She remained short with us. I observed Shelly interacting with her other guests and she was very personable, polite and eager to recommend dishes...stark reality: everyone else in the restaurant was white with the acception of another interracial couple and the awesome hostess. I believe they received the same short sited service we got! It was a disgusting exhibit of 2 faces in 1 person. Jenn's biscuits and gravy showed up 1st. She took a bite then asked me to taste it, with a sour look...which made me say 'no thank you' right off the bat! She said the gravy was bland and didn't really taste like gravy...she added salt and pepper, a lot of pepper. Then the country fried steak and eggs arrived and the steak had too much breading with no real flavor or seasoning to the steak, it made the whole entree taste like "mush," she explained. The eggs would've been ok if they hadn't had the gravy on them. While we were attempting to eat either dish at our table my breakfast burrito arrived and...I was abundantly underwhelmed. It was 'cakey' and dry and after mixing the sour cream, salt and pepper into the pico de gallo, the burrito still had no real taste context...not even breakfast, much less a breakfast in Mexico! The next day I tried to doctor up the burrito to no avail...it was no use. I won't be back; Egregious Epic Fail!
