This company is pure trash in EVERY way. So I live in a HUGE complex which is serviced by these guys and all they do is thrash everything they touch. LITERALLY. They usually come through the complex like a hurricane - cutting and breaking tree limbs, moving stuff around the patios and not putting anything back, leaving their mess behind and not cleaning anything afterwards.... Case in point #1: -- MY PATIO... I came home one day to find everything moved around. Plant pots moved onto the ground, furniture moved around etc so they could come INTO my patio area and trim the trees and bushes ON MY SIDE and they did a horrible job doing it... They left broken and cut branches all over the place - cleaned nothing and put nothing back... Just left everything just as it was after they got done. On the front side - they not only trimmed the trees and bushes so they're not affecting the walkway area - they butchered them. They cut the tree literally in half, destroyed the bushes and again....left all the broken branches and debris all around in the front of my property area... (I DID call the office but we'll get to that later). I had to actually clean up their mess that they so conveniently left behind. Case in point #2: -- They basically did this to EVERYONE'S patio area and surrounding properties of the patio. Trimming trees WAY BEYOND what was needed. They would literally chop branches indiscriminately regardless of whether or not they were impeding a walkway. People have literally screamed at them to stop doing what they're doing and shooed them away like they were dogs... Case in point #3: They don't speak any English (or they PRETEND not to speak any English, which is probably the case) - so when you try to talk to them they basically do a Jackie Chan and just smile and nod... Like I said - I've called their offices to complain about what they did to my patio and that brings me to: Case in point #4: When I called them to complain about everything that happened I was shuffled around, told I would get a call back etc which of course I didn't. I kept trying, finally got a hold of someone, told them what happened but because it's a complex and a contract associated with the complex - they said they can't assist and would have to talk to the Property Manager and when they DID - they denied everything... I even have pictures of the before and after - and showed it to the Property Manager - and they STILL denied everything... Just straight up lied that this ever happened because of COURSE their employees denied ever having did this and of COURSE they sided with their employees (which truthfully - I think that's okay actually). If you're thinking about using them - DON'T. There's a thousand landscaping and tree trimming companies in San Diego and THIS ONE is at the bottom of the list. ...utter f*cking trash. read more

After living in our home in La Jolla Alta for 4.5 years, the trees and bushes on the slope behind our back patio were way overgrown to the point where our view was totally hidden. Because of the pandemic, we put off getting the tree trimming done, but decided to get some bids from local tree trimming services. We found that a lot of services flaked out on us; either they never called back, they no-showed for the bid appointment, they promised a bid and never delivered, or - worse yet - gave us bids in the low four-figure range (granted, our back slope ends in a neighbor's back yard, the only access is a narrow gate on our patio, but still the prices were exorbitant)! David Hingeley contacted us promptly, gave us a bid that was 1/3 the price of the other bids we received, and we didn't get the sighing and complaining from the others ("I don't know how we're going to get this done....it will take hours") David looked around, told us there would be no problem, and pointed out all the houses within our view that his service takes care of - including the home at the bottom of our slope! He arranged with the homeowners to have our debris cleared through their property. The crew showed up on time, did the job as promised, cleaned up and honored their bid! They were friendly, professional and masked when they dealt with us at our house. More importantly,​ when you meet him, you can tell he is a​ ​ solid good person. Maybe that doesn't matter to people but it matters to me. I had a huge Juniper Tree that was growing a little close to the house and needed​ to go. We were concerned that the roots would wreck the plumbing and or the foundation. In addition to that, we had palm trees that were way overgrown​. It was great for privacy but, it could have been mistaken for Jurassic Park. David Hingeley's company is popular and he has two crews so at times, the scheduling of the work maybe a few weeks out depending if it is an emergency or time of year. I met him 10 years ago when he was servicing a large private community of Stonehaven. David is an honest man and his team does very good work they are efficient, skilled at complicated lacing (like a 60 y/o pepper tree) as well as stump grinding - clean up is as good as one could want for their property. This company has been in the area for many years as David continues the business his father founded. Stacia is an asset in the office, highly recommended. read more

I would give a zero if I could. I was referred to this company by a friend and so I called to schedule an appointment for a quote. I left a voicemail. My call was returned 2 days later scheduling the following Friday as the day to quote and trim. Then, I received an email from whom I believe is the owner, David. He asked me to send photos so he could expedite my bid. I responded right away with the photos he requested and he responded a quote. We negotiated that if I paid cash it would only be $200. Great! I was all in and asked if Friday the 1st would still be the day. He asked if my schedule was open so what do I do, I take a vacation day so officially now it is! Our emails continue and he gives me a time frame between 10-12 and tells me he'll text me when his trimmers are leaving their morning job. I never received a text and the time was now 11:30 on trimming day. I did however receive a call from a lady name Leslie who said she was here. Yay! Tree trimming time- NOT! Leslie claims she was only there to take pictures and give me a quote. I told her I've already done all that and sent the photos to David and already received a quote. She was shocked and responded with "wow". Of course she starts apologizing because now she realizes, someone didn't communicate as they probably should have. So she leaves. I email David asking for an explanation and instead of calling to explain or apologize for the miscommunication, he starts texting me- talking about heat exhaustion and OSHA. I inform him that I understand the heat aspect, but his communication was lacking and he just seemed to make excuses for failing to follow through. Besides, the forecast has shown it was going to be hot for some time now. I don't need excuses. I just need you to act like a business owner and have decent customer service. We'll go with another company. Once I find a better one(which shouldn't be difficult), I'll post it here for others to see. read more

Excellent experience! Highly recommended! I needed one medium tree (probably 30 feet tall and a little wider than that) in my back yard pruned. It was very overgrown and had not been trimmed in at least a decade. It also hung over the property line and quite a bit over the neighbor's yard, which complicated things. And I wanted to remove a dead fruit tree in my front yard, which I knew would be very easy. Crown Point Clippers was recommended to me, so I gave them a call. The owner (David) was in regular contact with me by text message and occasionally by email. I like these kind of updates as to when people will be on their way to my house. He was able to schedule me very quickly. I think they had a last minute cancellation because he basically said, "How about today?" And they were at my house 90 minutes later. Tree trimming is no easy job! This crew busted their hump for 3 straight hours. I was sore just from watching them. After cleanup, they left my yard cleaner than it was before. And the medium tree in my back yard looks great. I'm very happy. My street is pretty narrow and I was worried about their big truck finding room to park. Also, as luck would have it, they showed up on trash and recycling day. The blue bins were actually emptied while they were here. And they made sure none of my neighbors bins was missed. I used Crown Point Clippers multiple times in the last 10 years. Pretty basic work of trimming a palm and rubber tree. Had them do a Juniper once. At first, totally responsive and did a good job. In one of their earlier visits they snapped a primary branch on young tangerine tree pretty bad. I was able to save it and just let it go. On a later visit, I had them trim a Juniper tree. Not only did they do a horrible job (trimmed but looked really bad) but they also managed to kill a 4 in 1 specialty tree I had (2 peach, 2 nectarine) and didn't bother to mention it. I assume a piece of the Juniper fell on it and snapped it. It was an accident, I get it, but they left a nub and didn't say anything. After reaching out to complain, we worked it out and arranged for the next Palm/Rubber trimming at no additional cost. Not a good track record but I'm loyal and gave them the benefit of the doubt despite a pretty poor track record. Reached out again this year and after a bit of a delay I finally got a text response. Went back and forth with Ken, providing old quotes and detailing what I wanted. Came to an agreement on the work/price and then Ken just ghosted me when I tried to set a date. Followed up a week later and never received a response. If they told me they were too busy and my job was too small, that would have been better than ghosting me. Got a quote from Angel Tree Service. He responded the same day and did the work almost immediately. He didn't harm any other trees while doing the work. I look forward to hiring him again and again. read more

Staff: Professional, Friendly, Courteous. When I called to request a quote they sent out someone to view and assess the project. They were on time, friendly, and said that a follow up email quotation would be provided. Pricing: They were competitive. I found a cheaper company but that company never followed through and I just don't have time to deal with flakey people. So I called Crown Point and set up a time to get the job done. The Job: Three guys came early in the morning and worked away. They moved our pool furniture around, BBQ, as to not get it damaged. There was a guy in each tree, and there was a lot of work to cover. By the time I came back home to see the finished product I was very happy. Challenge: We had a slight problem that needed to be resolved a couple of weeks later. I emailed the company and I received two emails from staff and owner immediately. They worked with us to make sure that everything was good and that we were happy. Conclusion: Job well done. When we ran into trouble they took accountability and committed to resolving it. I was very impressed with how our business was handled. The Yelp ratings are 100% deserved. David came by for the consultation & we decided to go w/CPC for the job bc of good Yelp reviews, and also he gave us a reasonable quote. On the day of the job, the crew came on time. They were very friendly, polite, and respectful. David had told the crew that we had a jacuzzi nearby so they brought necessary stuff to cover it from any damage. They also helped to put a tarp over our parked car. Francisco climbed the tree on the backside so the boot markings were more hidden. They also asked me how much I wanted off/leave on, allowing me to customize the look I wanted on my trees. They were quick to remove the branches to the shredder machine, raked up my yard of any leftover parts, and neatly cleaned up all the debris. I must say that my experience w/CPC is unlike some of the other reviews. David is very responsive to emails. When I call, my messages get delivered. If you are expecting there to be no debris/dust from the removal of your trees by a saw and for them to clean up every inch, then I do think that's an unreasonable expectation. I also would recommend closing your windows, courtesy notice to your neighbors beforehand, voicing your concerns or desires, asking questions, etc. I personally think this is common sense. I couldn't be more satisfied w/the work CPC did for us. I truly appreciate it so much!! I will be recommending CPC to our neighbors and anyone we know who needs tree services. read more

By Thursday of that week, they had come out and removed the tree while my husband and I were at work. They did such a wonderful job, and the yard was extremely clean, with no sign of a 25 foot tree ever being there by the time they were done. There was nothing left but a small stump, no debris, leaves or branches. We were amazed at how quickly they had gotten the job done and at the pristine condition they had left our yard in. I recommend their business to anyone who needs immediate and inexpensive tree removal. I would definitely call them again.
