Husband wife golf trip to Myrtle. 1st time playing. On the plus side...Played as 2-some so place…read moreof play was fine. Course in good shape . Challenging "trouble" on several holes so recommend bringing some "water balls"! On the minus side...no restrooms on the back 9 (at least not easily visible as a 1st timer) which isn't an issue for guys (e.g. lots of trees) but I was very irritated about this and the issue we experienced with the maintenance guy compounded this irritation! He was cutting grass on several holes as we played and stayed in the way of my (the woman) shots running his very loud diesel engine while I addressed my ball and on 18 as we were putting he continued mowing around the green ! Bottom line ...do not recommend this course for ladies due to lack of restrooms and maintenance guy lack of courtesy for a woman!

Really like this course, me & Ron played in early May & the weather was great!…read more The Staff is outstanding & the check-in was a breeze. Greens were slick & fast. Tee boxes were in excellent condition & the fairways wide open & forgiving for the most part. It runs along the Intercoastal Waterway near Cherry Grove so you get some nice views. I highly recommend the course as it will challenge your game but you won't get in too much trouble. The have the GPS on the carts so you get a visual fly-over on every hole.

One word - Diabolical! This course is definitely not for high handicapper's or duffers that don't…read morehave a-lot of balls in their bags. I started on the tenth hole and the rough was cut so low in front of the green that if you come up short your ball rolls into the water. On number 13 if you hit the right side of the fairway the ball rolls into the marsh... and on the green their is no rough to stop the ball from rolling into the bunker... on 18 the pin was 3 yards from the right side of the green which is a retaining wall that separates the green from the marsh. I played on July 25th and was paired with a very nice father and son from Ohio. The son just graduated HS and wasn't a very good golfer , neither was the father. They quit after 9 holes , they stated they had never played a course like this and they are used to wide open, flat courses in Ohio. Tidewater was way more then they could handle and I estimate they lost a combined 40 balls in nine holes. I dunked a few on the back nine but got it figured out on the front nine. Being a northerner the Bermuda grass always takes me a few holes to get accustomed. The houses are close on sone holes , the Ohio boys tagged a few! I definitely recommend Tidewater if you are a 12 or less handicap, if your higher bring a lot of balls!

My first time playing this West Course. There are a total of…read morethree 18 hole courses all together. Visiting the area with the Golf Guys, a group of 24 guys for a 3 day long weekend for golf. The forecast was for rain because of Hurricane Isaias, category 2. We were fine through the first 9 and then the rains came and delayed us for about an hour. I was ready for a rain check but the rest of the guys wanted to finish up so we could get the points totals for the last round I was fortunate to card two Closest to Pin winners. This is an older course and it feels like it. There are no GPS on the carts. The cart path asphalt is broken and missing for yards in some areas. All the Staff was nice even though it was threat of rain, there were quite a few people playing and the Staff did a great job of managing it. I would recommend this course though. There is not a lot of water but quite a number of fairway bunkers and green side bunkers. It's pretty wide open and I especially liked the short Par 3's. First time I've ever seen a course where #18 is a Par 3 finishing hole.

First, after the $250, they charge $8 for 30 balls for the range. Really!! The range is mud barely any grass. Mats would be better. Only friendly and engaging person at the course if the cart lady. Wonderful bloody mary's. The water logged course is only made worse by the almost comical greens. I kept waiting for a clown mouth to jump out. Too many courses with personality and charactor to endure this place again. I'm an 8 handicap. Have played in 20 countries and all over the US. I would not recommend Myrtle Beach National.
